  1. Thanks for the kind words about my son. He had a great 1st quarter, but once the defense began keying on him, we didn't seem to have an answer. I never dreamed we would lose the game in the trenches, but that's exactly what happened. The better team clearly won the game. Very proud of our boys, and it was a pleasure to meet some of you guys. Best of luck next week
your sons a junior correct? So him and Bright should get to play each other next year.
  2. Aww come on boys there's nothing wrong with a little banter back in forth in this politically correct world.. we can shake hands on Saturday. .lol. this rain is now 100% at game time and is kinda getting to the point of worth talking about.. this year has desales played in the rain on a grass field an if so against who.. this deff is going to even this game up an help take our passing game outta the equation..
it rained when they played us. They started off slow so did we but they got going late in the first . And when they got going there was no stopping them.
  3. Good luck to Beechwood I do believe they will get the win as long as they don't start the way they did against us. Russellville is a better rushing team and if you give them the ball at the forty and they get it down to the red zone like we did they won't be stopped. Whatever the reason we struggled all year in the red zone and that proved to be our down fall in almost all of our losses. But I think that shock of HC playing them close for a while gives Beechwood a jolt and they won't come out that way again. Final score 35-21 Beechwood wins. No disrespect to Russellville but in my opinion Beechwood has the better squad.

  4. Twas the day after Thanksgiving, when all thru the city,

the Cards were dressing, so to win without pity.

The Colts were in time for the first time ever,

They knew they could only win if the clock struck never.

The fans were dressed in all red and black,

The team was hungry for an equine snack.

Out on the field the anthem was played,

Hands covering hearts, and all lips stayed.

The music ended and out came a roar,

Soon the Colts' season would be no more.

The young men in red took to the field,

and in the cold it was again revealed,

that the Cards' fight and skill had no match.

The Colts sent off in quick dispatch.

Both teams fought hard and at the end of the game,

The Cards had 20 but the Colts' score stayed the same.

Before the game the Colts had said a lotta of sumpin'

But they still got beat 20 to nuttin'

Pretty good. Only it won't be 20 to nothing. More like 17-14 lol

  5. This is why the KHSAA needs to step in and mandate certain field conditions in the playoffs. No reason to play on a field like that. Of course both teams played on same field, but the field did have an affect on both teams. IMO regional finals games and beyond should be played on a turf field, takes the elements out of it. No sure why that upsets HC fan guy, not an insult just a fact.
so basically your saying that teams with turf should have home field advantage after the 2nd round. If that's not what your saying then please explain where teams like HC, KCD, DeSales, and most Louisville schools outside of trinity and X should play. I'm not upset with comments its just that I don't think they can mandate that when more than half the state is not turf. Its just to expensive for alot of places including HC.
  6. I must clarify that I was not trashing the HC field. My comment about the color was because frankly, it was unusual. It's like many of the lawns that I have seen. The grass is still there, it's just not green. In no way was I making an excuse for the poor play of BW in the beginning on the field conditions. The footing was not great and that was a fact, not an excuse. Both teams need to work with that. BW's early woes were simply an execution issue. The visitor's bleachers, though aluminum, were hard to negotiate and appeared slippery. I saw 3 people fall including a little boy who fell between 2 rows and went down below. If that was higher up he could have been seriously hurt. The planks to walk on were wobbly and there was no walkways to get to higher rows. The good folks at HC need to take a harder look at the condition of these before anyone gets hurt. And kudos to the fight that HC put up. Nothing was easy in this game and BW needed this especially when there is no tomorrow.
I understand, I was still a little upset from the game. Honestly our home bleachers aren't much better. Both sets of bleachers are actually from the baseball stadium the school had back when it was Bishop David. The players from the 1989-1990 team built the field and moved the bleachers from the baseball fields. We take such pride in playing on our home field and honestly dont work on it much because it was built by former players and hasn't had much work done to it since the guys that built it beat trinity in 91. They have treated it as sacred ever since. Anyway hope the people you say fell are ok y'all will need them at the big game this week best of luck.
  7. Don't let the field comments bother you. Both teams played on the same field. You and your Holy Cross team should be very proud of your effort last night. You took many people's favorite in 1A and pushed them to their limit. Great year for Holy Cross and best wishes to you and your team in the future.
thank you. I understand that our field isn't the best but I still dont believe one can just blame the field for performance.
  8. Lets not forget that Evan Perry for HC was out tonight also. He's a difference maker for them, as much as Stringer is for Tigers. Would have love to have seen both teams as full strength. Some of the old guard for the Tigers were convinced that missing a 3 year starter Sr RB was going to be irrelevant. They were wrong. I'm sure HC missed Perry every bit as much.

Our offense was meant for Perry to get the ball press the line of scrimmage and hit the hole or the cutback what ever was open which I've been told that the cutback was there all night. Our back up is a good power running back he just doesn't hit the cutback like Perry does. So Perry would have been a huge plus. And if Perry and BW back were healthy who knows what that game would have been like.

  9. The field looked like Clifford the Big Red Dog relieved himself on it. About 85% yellow and 15% green. The footing was very suspect. Visitor's bleachers were in terrible shape. But this is what builds character, right? I will keep telling myself this.
HC played on worse fields than that this season and came out with wins. You can't say the field caused yall to start bad. We were on the same field and played good at first. Sorry not everyone can afford turf.
  10. I applaud your belief and support for your team. Best wishes to all players for a safe, injury free and fun night of football.

As to your bold prediction, I keep thinking about the last time these two teams met in the playoffs:

    Nov. 23, 2007 ... Beechwood 42 Holy Cross 7

thank you. And I truly love this team and I really just want crumbacker to go out on top. If we win it will put Holy Cross back in discussion for top teams in 1a. And yes that was the score we just hope the outcome won't be the same even in a loss we want it to be a game not a blow out.
  11. Ahhhh. Living vicariously through another team. Well, you haven't faired much better against the Colts either. You guys should try scoring some against us. lol We aren't worried about Mayfield right now. We play our true rival tonight. Our hands are full at the moment.
wasn't taking a shot at DeSales or anything alot of my friends go there but they always ask me why we lost in the second round every year and Mayfield is why. I was actually hoping they would win this week. I love seeing the southend get wins over the big boys. And as for us just wait on it. I'll be a senior next year and if you think I will be shut out by DeSales four years straight your mistaken not saying we will win just not a shut out.
  12. Why not go through the interview process? Who knows who else would be interested and what they could bring to the program. Not involved with Holy Cross but seems like they took the path of least resistance.
honestly the school has pretty much gone to you know in the past few years but the football team has been ok. And that's really what they did is take least resistance.
