  1. NDA showed a much better effort in this contest. Coach Gronotte did a very nice job of preparing this team for last night's match. Sometimes credit is not always given when talent is so prevalent on a team. The pandas are a great example of how to use the surplus of talent effectively. Would anyone else like to see a rubber match? It's a shame we can't.

  2. I agree with you on alot of things and maybe we can meet and talk about a way to get this program headed in the right direction.

I just don't think that defender was poy material. Is he good? Yes! Dpoy good? No

Second or third team good? Yes

There are certainly a few assistant coached I'd love to see take over but I think if the coach steps down they should interview a few outside prospects, you never know what's out there.

I'd like to attend this meeting. Maybe the Hamburgular get get us some free food at McDonald's??? OR a corner pub wouldn't be bad. HC has too much tradition and money in that school to have a losing record. A change may just be what they need.

  3. First bolded - I didn't hear this but overheard other parents talking about the girls coach leaving. Maybe he's taking the boy's job - couldn't hurt. Actually, I wouldn't wish that job on anyone given the lack of resources and players.

I had not heard that the HC girls coach was stepping down, but I believe he would be a horrible hire. I have a friend whose daughter plays for him. Apparently the team hates him. Maybe that's why he is stepping down. It's never a good sign when you bounce around 3 different programs within a 4 year span. It's hard for soldiers to respect a general that has never seen the battlefield. Similarly, it's also difficult to coach a sport that you've never really played yourself. He's a typical "classroom coach". He would do the boy's program no good.

  4. I assumed soccer was like basketball in that the time colleges see players is when they are playing club ball. No?

I've heard they find the players at club level, but recruit/scout from both. There is an element of physicality and team pride that are involved in HS soccer that is not displayed in club play. If a player is being recruited by a certain college, they have a pretty good idea whether the kid has the tools. Instead HS soccer shows if they can bring the intangibles that cant be seen in club.

  5. Highlands defense shut down Cov Caths offense hate to say it but the colonels have no chance of making a deep run in the state tournament this year.

This is the most ludicrous statement that I have seen in a while. Cov Cath has just about every aspect of the game covered. One thing they do miss is a TRUE scorer. Day does a great job of running the offense, and Litzler is an above average striker, but compared to strikers that they have had in the past, such as Talkers, he's not up to snuff. Again, I am really knit picking here. I feel they are poised to make a deep run. Is it guaranteed? No. But they survived a potentially needed close call. When your GK has to make 24 saves, you did not shut an offense down.

  6. Barring any injuries, it is probably in his best interest to wait until next season to make a commitment. Snow's supporting cast will be better, which I feel will result in more consistent play and better results. His knock this season was that he tends to become lazy. I don't think that happens as much with more solid team around him, enabling him to receive quality attacking options.
