  1. Baker went out early with an ankle sprain.

He must have been getting lit up. I like baker and the way the kid runs the ball but anytime he plays against someone who hits hard he tends to always "Get Hurt" I'm surprised he played the entire game vs JC last week usually he's out before halftime

  2. Congratulations to the Rams. Well earned victory. This loss cost Russell big.

Russells overtime play calling still shocks me idk what was going on. Correct me if I'm wrong but at Raceland I don't think Tj had much influence on the offensive play calling but after talking to someone in the Russell program they say Evans and Maynard both call plays. If I was TJ I'd stay in the defensive side and let Evans worry about the O

  3. O.K., almost anyone and everyone that knows me, they know that I almost never blast a team or player on here. I am also pretty sure that everyone knows my love of Raceland Football, the school and all sports / activities at RWHS...... Having said that then here it goes ---

No doubt that Paintsville is very, very good and was a better football team than Raceland, that's obvious but an extremely good friend of mine, one that tells it just like it is had called and told me some Extremely Disappointing things about some of the Rams players. They are h.s. kids and I Won't call them by name so let's just say that the main problem with the Rams is A Lousy Attitude, NO Leadership.

I have always called it like it is and I usually don't put a lot into what a parent or close relative of a player says bc they a lot of times are too emotionally connected, especially about their son. This man however, no longer has any kids on the team and all have been out of school for years, he is an alum and bleeds orange and black as I do. There are different coaches since his kids were Rams so it's not an "ax to grind" type thing.............. So for just two or three that lets say ..."Like to Dance" when you're down 3-4 td's instead of paying attention to the game - then maybe they should go join the dance team. BTW ... these were upperclassmen.

Raceland has a proud tradition down here of playing hard no matter the score / situation and taking pride in that Rams uniform Means Something and that Did Not Happen last night in Paintsville, especially with a few and that trickles down.

I do hope that this team hasn't given up bc you have a "pride / family vs. family" rivalry game next week vs. a Very Tough Russell team ..... Not to mention the playoffs coming up in a couple of weeks along with the chance to redeem some bad play, losses and renew that Ram Pride. I am now, always have been and always will be a Raceland Rams Fan / nothing will change that so this I certainly not a fair weather fan type scenario. Anyone that knows me knows that.

What I am saying to the Raceland Players is simply this .... NO ONE Can change things, attitude but Yourselves - this team. SO -- Let's see who has the Guts to Step it Up and you do that by actions, not whining, complaining or pointing fingers at another guy.

    GO RAMS ...

I agree 100% people that I've spoke to say that they just think teams should lay down because of the name on the jersey they need some alum to speak to the team and not a better week than this week to have some Old Timers come in and give these guys a refresher on what it means to wear the orange and black on Friday night

  4. Messer wasn't a scapegoat. The most he was ever a scapegoat was maybe last year. But they still had Dixon and Young. Messer was great athlete but he was never a scapegoat. At all.

Last year's team was a great team I'm not taking anything from them but what u mentioned was no matter who Raceland played they knew no one could shut down Messer and they could rely in him when needed and this year they have no one of that caliber

  5. Tigers are solid but come on guys Raceland isn't a very good team.

I've said that all year they haven't lived up to the hype. The talent is there I just think this coaching staff cant handle it. They've had Messer as a scapegoat in years past and they no longer have that type of player the rams need to reevaluate the game plan and just focus on a simular Russell team they should match up well with each other

  6. Tj Maynard's players? This isn't college Salmons has had a huge role in Racelands success over the years. He's gonna be at Raceland as long as he wants to be. There's no reason to call for Salmons head especially after one bad loss. Vanderhoof had a bad loss to LCA in 2008. Tj lost one to Pikeville in 2012. These things happen Raceland will bounce back and hopefully these kids use this as motivation in the playoffs.

In a way he's right I don't think he means talent wise TJ is a great coach and an awesome guy he brings out the best in his guys and helps others find that passion for the game I don't know if it is still this way or not but I know when Salmons first started coaching back at Raceland which if I recall right was around 07 or 08 there were a lot of kids who didn't like him or his ways but maybe he's change since then and if players don't like playing for a guy it doesn't matter how good they are it's hard to find that extra gear when they need it

  7. Raceland hasn't lived up to the Hype all year. I think with Paintsville having an off week helped they had two weeks to prepare. I just don't think this Raceland team can keep up with them I'd say it will be close the first quarter maybe the first half but Paintsville pulls away and sends Raceland home 42 12 I hope not but this isn't a very disciplined rams team and that leads to not executing that's going to hurt them for the second week in a row
