-
If Bracken County beats Nicholas County they could be district champions by a tie breaker.
-
Can someone post boys team rankings and also girls?
-
Was Bracken down some O-linemen?
Yes. Frankie Collins was playing with a broken wrist and came out in the 4th. The starting QB (Trey Deaton) was out with a broken hand.
-
There were a lot of Bracken County fans who went to Mongonery County last year for the season opener. Also during the Ashland Invitational fans who were not related to any players came and stayed over night for all 3 days.
-
Bracken County/Brooksville is either the 1939 State Champions or 1944 State-Semi Finals team that was upset when they were ranked #1 in Kentucky.
The only team that comes close in modern times was either the 1998 or 1999 team that won the last district and Class A title for the Polar Bears.
-
For Bracken County probably the 91-92 Lady Bears. Finished the season 26-6 and to the region semi-finals. Won Class A region and district.
Averages that year:
Molly Linville - 16.8
Annie Mains - 14.3
Janie Goecke - 11.9
Amy Corlis - 6.2
And a whole bunch more of scoring options. This was also part of the Lady Bears' 12th straight district title run from 81-92.
Molly Linville is the 2nd in school scoring with teammate Annie Mains at 8th, Janie Gocke at 12th.

Related to Nate Jones, even he doesn't touch a baseball for a while during the winter. If he doesn't, why should high schoolers? The doctors say the fact they are throwing year round is THE issue. -
Was at mason yesterday . The one kid is a nice shooter. Other than that, really don't see much . A tired Lex cath beat them with 6 kids in the second of back to back games with a two min break.
You must have failed to notice Bracken County took out the entire starting 5 for ten minutes. Player development is much more important than wins and loses.
It seemed like Bracken County missed a lot of shots, hope they shoot better next few times at the Fieldhouse. District, Region, and against Mason County on Dec. 13th
Surely it was just them only have been practicing for a week.
Both Fisher brothers were missing due to baseball which is in season, who should help tremendously with handling.
Travis Tucker (soph) is definitely going to be getting some big minutes and shot the 3 ball surprisingly well.
Jones is improved but still needs to be stronger and more aggressive (tell him this everyday)

Campbell County beat Bracken County 66-54 per the Polar Bears Twitter account.Bracken County beat Pendleton County 51-47.
@brackencounty on Twitter, updates all summer long lol

Polarbear98, greatly respect the vigour and persistance in your arguments. Just think your administrations approach missed the mark badly. As to the 39th District being weak in a down 10th Region, I will standby that position. Mason Co. District Champ loses to 36th District runner-ups, Scott, a sub-.500 team and they will play in Regional Championship game.
Look at who Bracken County played: And let me remind you, Bracken lost 4-3 to Campbell County 4-3, the same team that beat the hell out of Augusta
Bracken was a bad baseball team; however it was far superior to St. Pat and Augusta and that is exactly why they vote for the draw.
Really cannot believe you basically called Scott a weak baseball team. Look at the schedule!! They are in the regional finals. For someone who hasn't been to a Scott/Bracken County baseball game you seem to know a lot about the teams by looking at records.
2x Lewis County- Region
Harrison County- District Champion, Region Semi-Finals (22-12)
Bishop Brossart- lost in a tough district, Class A Champion, (16-16)
Nicholas County- Region
Rowan County- District Champion, Region Semi-Finals (26-11)
Bourbon County- Lost in tough district, (14-13)
3x Mason County- District Champion, 2 D1 pitchers (15-10)
2x Fleming County- Region
Logan, WV- Ranked 17th in West Virginia (11-7)
Pikeville- District Champion, Region Semi-Finals (24-12)
Paintsville- Lost in a tough district (19-16)
Campbell County- District Champion, Region Semi Finals (still playing)
Bracken County had 7 one-run losses.

This season will be the 1st time in recorded school history (1934) that Bracken County and Augusta will not play in the regular season.
-
Beating a Division pitcher is tough. Beating him 2 years in a row is even tougher! And for those saying Bracken County shouldn't go to region because of their (12-18) record. Here's some of the teams they lost to: Strength of schedule mattersOne thing you left out: Bracken County forgot to take care of business in its district game against Mason County.2x Lewis County- Region
Harrison County- District Champion, Region Semi-Finals (22-12)
Bishop Brossart- Class A Champion, (16-16)
Nicholas County- Region
Rowan County- District Champion, Region Semi-Finals (26-11)
Bourbon County- Lost in tough district, (14-13)
3x Mason County- District Champion, 2 D1 pitchers (15-10)
2x Fleming County- Region
Logan, WV- Ranked 17th in West Virginia (11-7)
Pikeville- District Champion, Region Semi-Finals (24-12)
Paintsville- Lost in a tough district (19-16)
Campbell County- District Champion, Region Semi Finals (still playing)
Bracken County had 7 one-run losses.

You are changing the subject, that's ok I understand why, because there is no answer. This an issue with all sports, this thread should really be in contravesal issues. Why is this on the basketball thread? Can someone please redirect the baseball comments to the baseball thread please? -
How do you Augusta faithfully defend them being out scored 40-0 in their last 2 games? Or the fact after beating St Pat they received a police escort. Or the fact they bragged to Bracken County players/fans that they were going to region. Or the fact they gave their coach a Gatorade shower after losing to Mason County in the district finals? Or the fact they had exactly 9 players Monday?
-
Augusta's argument that they need the money financially can be disputed. In the 37th, Calvary and Silver Grove seem to be doing just fine and have to beat 3 regional powers if they want money from region. They find a way to make money. Sounds like Augusta just wants their welfare check
-
Bracken County lost to them 4-3 not to long ago...
Bracken County cancels all away sporting events with Augusta and St. Patrick

And here's a sign made from the championship game between Bracken and St Pat. Bracken AND Mason Students helped put this sign up. Part of it was taken down by St Pat fans.
