  1. I tell you though rush is a heck of a coach down in Georgia. If you look through all the scandals and what not that happened at hoover, he made that program a elite team and nesbitt took it and ran with it to this day. He really did the same thing with colquitt county, granted he's playing with Sec type talent but he's worth it I believe. Fun to watch on the two a day series when he was the hc at hoover.

  2. Well theoretically we play better on a bad field at least historically. We matched up well in bell county even though it was a loss in 08. Then at east jessamine they had everyone but the fire department making that field a mudhole and Rees ran all the way home from Nicholasville that night. Point being Its not a bad thing for a bad field I don't believe.

  3. Shoot we might as well not even put in a week of practice and save ourselves a gas bill driving to Louisville by opinions so far. Nobody does playoffs like central? Give me a break, our trophy cases are just as full and we are just as accomplished. 2. Catholic isn't mediocre either. They could be 0-9 all year but they will play us like it's the Superbowl. Its the same way every year. Before the loss to catholic we were the majority favorite to roll through 3a nothing changes from that loss. We may not win but central will get a ball game I can at least promise that.

  4. If PLD could throw the ball, they would be tough to stop. Passing was 1 of 10 for 4 yards wont get it done.

Boyle's offense is null and void right now. Cant run block and passing is completely out of sync. Bad passes, dropped passes, and interceptions.

Not sure who Boyle is playing yet in 1st round, but the Rebels have 7 days to get the mojo back.

Got waggenner the first round. More than likely central and then our good friends in Lexington.

  5. Special teams is not that great on coverage, at least over the years it hasn't been. Sometimes against teams like Catholic with speedsters they'll kick it short to keep it away from them. The concept I agree with for less talented teams but you can't give teams with talent the ball at close to midfield on every drive. That part I don't agree with.

  6. Soul searching week for Boyle more than anything else. Does this team want to make a deep run into state or are they complacent with what they have? Last night won't get them past Central, let alone compete with them. A season full of first half's and done, they should be fine with the exception of Josey's ankles. Finish off Dunbar and go to work for the playoffs.

  7. Agreed 100%. I'm sure this isn't what Coach Smith wanted to see coming off a loss. Going to have to relight that fire for the playoffs or they'll be home for good after playing Central.

Smith has been out there in the huddle a few times and by the pointing and gestures it doesn't look like he's one bit happy. And no this won't do against central. A more talented western hills squad would be right in this. They win the effort battle, at least for the first half.

  8. I always seem to find the people that are new to the game as far as rules go and are having each play explained to them by someone who is at their 5th game of their entire life. Sometimes it's comical listening to someone attempt to explain something that they have no idea what they are talking about, other times it can be annoying. The most common call our team has is holding. While it may be true that their is holding on every play if you wanted to call it, it does seem to be a favorite for our fans at least to heckle the refs about, especially when ours is in defense.

  9. The most frustrating part is that Lexington Catholic won yet again with a aerial attack filled with long balls and bombs to JJ. Josey left a lot to be desired from the qb spot and the receivers had some huge drops that had Boyle settling for field goals and not touchdowns. I don't know if that's necessarily being out coached, but it seems that after all these meetings we should have some defensive game plan in place for Catholic. It shouldn't be a surprise anymore to anyone that their success comes from the pass in these games.

  10. Two power house programs through at least the last decade of meetings seem to be destined to do this forever. The only shame during the 4A years was the game felt like it should be a state semifinal game at the very least and not just a regional final. Always brings a great crowd and a hostile environment whether at Boyle or Catholic. No matter the outcome friday night it wont be the last time these two tangle this year, and i would expect to see these two meet again in the playoffs as history shows.

  11. I'm thinking another big win by Boyle friday night, but honestly I'm hoping for a close game to get as much pre prep for Catholic as possible. 4 full quarters for the starters and a competitive game for Boyle will go a whole lot further for the team than a blowout would in my opinion, with the Knights on the horizon next week.
