Agreed . . . even when the opinions are yelled at him from the stands.
Or the ones that hind behind keyboards. But, everyone is entitled to their opinions. Im sure he's well aware of who supports him and who doesn't.

I suppose it comes with the job -- but is also comes from the same people.
And I'm sure Coach Weinrich could care less of the opinions of those who criticize him.

The story is good. I'm caught up on all the episodes. Lots of twists that make you think. At this point the bomber could be just about anyone. Also, the female characters are rather nice looking……….!

Birds fans, here's a name to keep in mind this season. Nate Roberts is a freshman and will be a pleasant surprise for the Bluebirds this season and the future.

Boise State??? Are you saying they are not good at running and offensive set???
No, I'm not saying that at all. As stated in this thread, someone mentioned the Camels run " a lot of trick plays". I just asked why and was criticized for it by a few. No big deal. I wish both teams all the best in their game. It's good for both programs to play twice this year.
-
Lol. I hear that kind of thought all the time, "trick plays" are part of most teams offense and the burden still falls on the defense to stop it. Every high school, college and NFL team has "trick plays".
I was referring to his/her comment "lots of trick plays". I do agree, teams at all levels have a few in their playbook when needed.

Not a Championship game because CovCath beat both of those teams and has only lost to Beechwood. However the Highlands/Campbell County game should be a really good game. Campbell County is very solid and also runs lots of trick plays and execute them very well. It should be a very good game.
Why the trick plays? Are they not good in running an offensive set?
-
Ive seen Campbell Co play three times this year. In all 3 games they move the ball well in the first half and are able to get a score or two out of it. In the second half they look like a completely different team. Hope they get their first win this week.
-
Highlands is playing Campbell County on October 29th. The game has been on the schedule since Dixie canceled which was before the season even started. The Camels will be much improved for the rematch.
-
Neither one matter. The coaches do not watch the film from the games .
Yes they do.
-
Didn't get to see this one. After talking to a parent that was there sounds like turnovers on a short field lead to Highlands getting down early. Nice job of fighting back and not giving up.

Google Seattle Seahawks Tackling Drills. This is a technique that we are using in the FTJFL(Blue) alongside Headsup Football that we also teach. If it is working for the Seahawks at the Pro level then it will work at all levels. Just my 2 Cents!
Couldn't agree more. Pete Carroll started using this technique back in his days at USC. The concept is "eye the outside thigh" based on the sport of Rugby. Happy to hear youth coaches are adapting to it!

Just heard Highlands is playing Conner tonight. Can anyone confirm this?

The thought of this just ruined my breakfast!

Tackling in football isn't just a Highlands issue. I've noticed it at many levels, pee wee, high school and college. I think it has to due to the limited contact in practices which is related to and most importantly the concussion issues. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but coaches are playing it safer these days. However, tackling can be taught the right way with good technique and reps. But it involves proper headgear placement, eyes up and wrapping up the opposing runner. Again, it's not just a Highlands issue.

This is a no brainer for me, Ohio State!
-
I've watched both episodes so far. Like many series, it takes awhile to get to know the characters and how they fit into the plot of the story. So far I like what I'm seeing in this one.

Three TD's in one game is a great night of football. Three TD's in .29 seconds is off the charts incredible. Congrats to the young man!

What did Highlands do over the bye week to get back on track?

Actually, that's Cooper Schwalbach. Look at the difference in the shoes.
Sorry, cleats. I'm not much of a football guy…….

Huddy with the sack as well.

We could learn a lot more if you'd invite us to the film review you and the other dads have. I'd love to be a part of that. Again, PM and let me know when and where! I'll buy you a "coke" and we can discuss some solutions. It will be fun!
I'm still waiting for him to answer my question about how many of the 16 numbers he listed actually played in JV games based on the dads film night. Guess I better not hold my breath.

So had a chance to watch some film last night with other father's and I have to say some of it is comical. There's really no rhyme or reason why we are 1-6. I read the Ft.Thomas matters article and in that they are using every excuse they can on why the team is losing. So we decided a couple of us would get together and watch some film. The first thing that sticks out is you bring players in and have them make a play or 2 then remove them, Second playing boy's like this does nothing hence the reason why we could be losing? Several player's stuck out while watching the films and they are 33,54,55,41,74,52,12,59,35,5,10,44,8,24,27,and 98 which is a beast. and I wonder why some are playing JV when they are obviously great players. We do not need these boy's on JV however they could be a huge asset on Varsity if used from what we have seen so why are they not being used at all or little at best? That would be the question I would be asking anyone who is in the know with this Varsity program?
Of the 16 players you listed by number, which ones are also playing JV?

What freshman teams play this week? Who are the match ups?

I agree with you. The way he kept plays alive by moving around reminded me of Beau. I also agree with the PC coach, he was the best QB on the field last friday. But, he shouldn't have mention the opposing QB's name.
