  1. Just finished watching play six times. Sorry to see NCC competitors so upset about correct call by officials. When Freppon recovered (looked to me like both his knees were on ground) and got up to retreat and run around the stack, not a single NCC guy threw a block, accompanied him down the field; nor, did a single official follow him down the field; nor, did a single HC player acknowledge his action and make any defensive effort. All signs that the action had been blown dead by officials. No whistle was heard all night on the film, so one would not expect to have heard the whistle on this play. When 21 players and a full officiating crew make zero movements to support a live ball recovery and return, there had to be a reason...its called the whistle. Congrats to officials for huddling calmly and getting it right. Congrats to the NCC players for fighting to the end (especially Freppon). Congrats to HC for a well earned playoff victory. No congrats to the Breds fans looking to be victims rather then acknowledging defeat on the battlefield at the hands of a previously vanguished foe. You guys at NCC have always been pretty classy in both victory and defeat. Don't play the victim card, enough of that garbage happening in our society today.

I am sure it was easy to see rewinding it 6x, lol. Sounds like you are right the knee might have been down. The concern , if you were at the game, was during the play the refs made no arm motions and we did not hear the whistle due to excitement and shouting, but even several people on the side lines did not hear a whistle either. So the play went on. It was obvious that it took the refs time to figure out where the ball was and exactly what happened lol. So they had to make a guess about it. There had been earlier bad calls and ball placement. That is why it was questioned so much. Any team would have some concerns about the call. It's over and done. As I had said yesterday HC out played us and we had and missed several opportunities. We are very young and will be fine. Wish HC the best next week against Danville.

  2. You realize that other people are saying they heard it, and it's possible it blew without you hearing it, and the side judge came running in which signifies the carry ended, right?

Well to continue to rehash my many statements, of course it's possible they blew the whistle even though we didn't hear it. But people watching online agree they didnt hear it. The ref runs in but no official hand signals. So again, at best it's a controversial call. I agree with a guy who said earlier they didn't see it but made the call to try and make both teams happy.

  3. At the end of the day the mistakenly got the call right. Isn't that what we should all want?

Devil's Advocate--what if they award NCC a TD and they win...and we find out later Freppon's knee was down? You would have to look in the mirror and say HC got the shaft?

A few bottom lines: 1)NCC must score with 3rd and goal from the 2..zero excuse, championship teams do that. 2) why in the world is HC running the ball there? NCC has no time outs..take a knee, championship teams do that.

I agree, NCC did not play well. No I wouldn't want a win on a bad call. HC played hard and in the end they got the he W. Tough loss for NCC. But we are young and will be back next yr.

  4. I'll assume that's rhetorical.

Not rhetorical , trying to the keep up with everyone quoting me. I have said it enough times, at best it was a questionable call. Too many people some not NCC fans saw it the same way. Was his knee down? It didn't look like it, but no whistle so he played the ball. Yes the ref ran in looking for ball. No hand signals declaring dead ball. Was the call right? It seems tainted due to timeline, and late call. No I would not want to win on a bogus call. My point AGAIN is IF a ref did not see the players knee down and call the ball dead, he can't just guess or think he was down. He ran to the middle of the field and realized the ball was in to help endzone.

  5. Lots of mixed reviews, we all have our own perspective. Again I do not have a child playing but I know what I saw and heard or didn't hear. We can all agree to disagree. I would NOT want our team to win at any cost. That was a very unfair judgement. But the truth is people are saying on video knee down but no whistle or refs running in with arm signals. Freppon in end zone before they decide and call back. At game did not hear whistle during fumble or before he was in end zone. So IF they got the call right it was still a very questionable time line, exchange and decision. If a Ref didnt see a knee down and didn't call the play dead, then isn't the ball still live? Still playable? At best questionable decision.

  6. And yet you would have been okay with NCC winning on a missed call? Lol, so as long as the calls are missed in your favor it's cool? Got it. Sounds like they got it correct from the replay.

No my point was the refs missed the play. They can't guess or assume his knee was down. They had to see it. They didn't even know where the ball was. It was in the end zone. I don't have a kid playing, and I understand controversial calls happen, but it's really upsetting in the play off season in a super close game.

  7. Out of luck because they didn't get it done when it counted. 1st and 5 on the 5 and you can't score? Missed blocks, no push?

    Congrats HC

I agree they didn't play well, but the refs never saw the play Freppon in the end zone with the ball and they had no idea where the ball was. So we are suppose to believe they saw his knee down? Don't think so dude. I can take losing, I cant take crappy calls and more crappy calls. Several bad ball placements. The list goes on.
