  1. There was some hitting and flying around on D last night for the birds, that was great to see! The mentality on defense that has been lacking the past couple years seems to be gone. Group tackling and flying to the ball are the key to a successful defense. Birds DB’s had a little trouble but it’s hard to play lockdown coverage when the qb is scrambling around as much and coopers qb did. Some work to do, but the birds are much improved. It will be interesting to see how the season progresses.

  2. I'll be honest I've never really been a "don't show anything in a scrimmage" kind of guy. I mean everyone knows most of everyone else's plays anyway. Small variations every year to keep people guessing......but a reverse on a kickoff in a scrimmage.

Pretty common play by HHS. Typically there is either a reverse or fake reverse on every kick off. Not really sure why that is a big deal.

  3. I was told that the scrimmage starts at 6:00 PM on Thursday and the first session will be the frosh and JV kids going half field. The varsity squads will then scrimmage after that. Total time allowed for a scrimmage I believe is 3 hours. Also being told that if it rains on Thursday in Louisville, the game may be moved to Fort Thomas and played on Friday evening at 6:00 PM. This is because Ballard has a grass field and obviously does not want to tear it up for scrimmage games.

Hopefully this is the case, I would like to make it to the scrimmage.

  4. Just came across the series called "QB1 Beyond the lights". Pretty cool show that follows Jake Fromm, Tate Martell and I forget the 3rd QB's name but he went to wake forest through their senior year of high school. Pretty much these kids lived the real life Friday Night Lights movie.

  5. Don't think I've ever had both mayo and mustard on a sandwich. May have to try it though.

It's different I guess but I love it. I also love the combination of peanut butter and pickle so I may just have funky tastebuds hahah. Don't knock it until you try it I always say.

  6. I have two:

Bologna, American cheese, mayo, mustard and white bread.

Turkey, bacon, onion, lettuce, mayo, mustard, light pickle and white bread.

Never eat sandwiches anymore but man I would love to have either of these right about now.

or any sandwich from cobblestone in Fort Thomas, you really can't go wrong.

  7. In no particular order:

    Trotwood Madison

    Cincinnati St. X (Nationally ranked)

Christopher Columbus (Florida 8A runner up)

Many of the HHS vs CCH games.

These are two are my top two games except I would reverse the order. Then I would say the Bell county game in 04 and the 06 regular season CCH matchup even though we lost it was a great game and then 09 regular season game at CCH I think the birds defense held CCH offense to single digit yards for the game.

  8. If that is true, huddy, schwalbach, buten, Bolling, and brune are going to make for a very fast and explosive backfield by committee!!! Look out!

That is a lot of talent at RB. Hopefully they are versatile and learning multiple offensive positions so that there isn't a bunch of talent sitting on the sidelines.
