Bracken County's Barrett Bradshaw was an assistant at Brossart before last season. What's the odds of him returning as a head coach? He lives in the area and has an All A region championship under his belt now.
Why leave with that gold mine he inherited? Logical to stay because he works and coaches in the same building, unlike when he did at Brossart.

Will be interested to see if they go in house or hire one with previous experience.
-
Hearing South Laurel already has a replacement for Coach Thomas.
Well please, don't leave us hanging.

Very accurate. From my buddies that told me apparently he was placed on suspension from the school with issues going on. Also basketball related issues evolving as well. I hope it is a rumor too but he was Forsure placed on suspension by Scott High School. I hope this isn't the case, Brad is a tremendous coach.
This is interesting. Is it related to the fight that happened there a while back?

dude is like Santa Claus...he's everywhere.
I saw him tutoring some disabled children last week.

I have been told that Aaron Linville, former girls' varsity assistant at Bracken County, is the frontrunner for the vacant head coaching position at Bath County.
Interesting development there... Would make a good assistant for someone.

Biggs can coach. Funny how so many MC fans were bad mouthing him during the season.
Don't think there has ever been a time where they've bad mouthed a coach. I am starting to think that if they weren't talking about him that he should be worried.

I thouht Mason County was down this year and peaked at the right time. Could we see more parody next year?
Is this parody staring Danny DeVito as Buddy Biggs, Will Ferrell as one of his basketball players, and maybe Nick Nolte will make an appearance as a Head Coach from another school that challenges them for the regional title?
I couldn't help myself.

Patiently waiting to hear what will be open in the 10th... Always interesting this time of year.

"From the River 2 Rupp"...Inte"rupp"ted by the Royals. :ylsuper:
No disrespect to the Augusta players...It just came to mind last night after seeing the Augusta Cheeleaders sign they had made up and waving prior to the Royals victory.
They do have some artistic students at Augusta.
-
We've probably heard the same thing then.
I've heard this as well... However, if it the one that is sliding in, I've heard he has been leaving for three years, so I'll believe it when I see it.

What moves in the 10th? We going to have a repeat of the 39th somewhere else?
-
Don't everybody like a winner?
I would assume... but people were crucifying the man before he even coached his first game at Mason. He's proven he can coach.
-
Where are those MC fans that wanted to fire Biggs now?
Seems like a good coach to me.
They like a winner so I doubt they're saying anything, for now.

The reason was of poor sportsmanship. He has the ok to be present at Tuesday nights game.
I've seen fans get tossed for much worse and return the following game. Just wasn't sure who's policy that was.
-
Word is MoCo asked that he stay home and not attend tonight, as he will not be allowed in the facility....
What is the reasoning? He got thrown out of one game...there isn't a suspension he has to deal with.

Your definition of "central KY" is?
We talking 12th Region?

Rivalries happen when the two teams are always playing meaningful games, the outcome of the season rides on it, and both teams win their share of those games. Bracken-Mason boys programs have several aspects present to be considered rivals (mainly geographical, similarly passional fan/alum bases, and the fans/communities often interact in every day life), but they dont have this aspect of it, and it takes time for that to occur.

Always amazing who comes out of the woodwork on threads.:jump:

Bracken Co. Seemed like there was always a home court feel about the regional games played there, like extra seconds ticked off the clock when Mason needed the game to end or vice versa if they needed more clock to score. Never knew the accuracy of those accusations. Seems like I remember some crazy clock problems in the 70's during regional games when Bracken boys had a very good team for a couple of years. I think it became more one sided on wins when they absorbed the Maysville Public Schools, which Maysville fought against, since they were truly their greatest rival until the consolidation. Don't know how things stand now but I do know that 39th District game at BCHS this year was hotly contested. Boys and girls teams.
I always thought that some of the powers that were sold them out.
Sorry to thread jack.

Clopay and the school are virtually the only real employers in our town. Closing the school in the mid 90's would have changed our town and probably for the worse. This is all good conversation. Our athletic clubs would have been and would be very excellent. But this conversation is getting old. Too many people worked hard to keep our school open then and many more have worked hard to get the school to where it is today.
If you are accounting that everyone in town would have stayed and sent their kid to the new school.
I'm just using Tollesboro as an example. I cant' remember if the same could be said when looking at the Maysville-Mason merger... My mind gets fuzzy with the late 80s.

I'm just thinking of all of the students who would not have been attending the combined schools.

Location, Location, Location.

It didn't happen in 1998... I think the opportunity ended there, unless things in A-Town are far worse than I think.
I think it ended there, but the state sometimes like to do things without input from the locals sometimes too.

Funny, I've heard Mason County people saying that for their job.
I don't see Code going for it. I would think he would be wanting to continue coaching boys and could be in the mix for Scott's job.
