I don't see Ballard beating Trinity, the Rocks have too much length. Male has no shot, Waggener is 1 and done. I could see St. X. winning it if Trinity stumbles, maybe Manual if a lot of things go right. I love Central but they have no concept of how to close out games and just too short inside.

There has to be a lot to Soards contact with Eaton that NKU definitely doesn't want anyone knowing about.

 

For anyone interested in this case, read the I Team link, there is some good information there that tells us this thing is way way bigger than most of us will ever know.

When Northern Kentucky left the GLVC we all laughed because Bellarmine had beaten them like 9 out of 11 times and said they were running from us and Coach Davenport. I knew they were an outlaw bunch but this takes all the cake. Ha!

I thought the NKU Women's team was hosting a conference game Thursday night? But I can't remember.

 

It stinks for NKU players on the current roster, but I don't think completely random situation is going to stop a future recruit from coming to NKU.

If their paying 200 grand to women who mess around with their Department leaders like in the link I posted no wonder they can't afford to not host the hs regions for the money. Ha.

Looking forward to watching the Norse men compete in regents once again. Should be a nice atmosphere. It's very impressive for NKU to be hosting a conference tournament game this early into their move to D1. Sounds like someone is a bit bitter of NKU's rise to D1 and their early successes. It's awesome to be able to watch most of the Norse games on ESPN 3. With a good showing in the conference tourney maybe NKU can find their way into the CBI, assuming that's still a thing.

This is so laughable! Success? Losing overall record, playing in one of the worst D-1 leagues in the nation? Bellarmine or UWP would win the A-Sun. The two best programs Mercer and East Tenn. left the league and its full of D-1 wannabes who are wasting a lot of money.

Don't see this stuff going on at Bellarmine. Northern Kentucky is a blot on the state tax system, just like K-State.

It really does not matter what Coach Davenport thinks now does it? My assumption is he is concerned about his own program and not NKU.

I meant by that Northern Kentucky turned Bellarmine in a few yard ago saying we used an ineligible player to the GLVC. They did a long investigation and found a small problem and reinstated the player. The Northern Kentucky coach and Faculty Rep. turned in Bellarmine and Coach Davenport wanted to turn Northern Kentucky in on several violations, but the Bellarmine president said no, let's not sink to their levels. Good riddance from the GLVC, them and Kentucky Wesleyan. Same kind of programs.

Central has been in every game and been up late in games they just haven't been able to close them out. Trinity 2nd game was up, they tried to stall, and turned ball over a couple of times that turned momentum and they lost by 2. Same thing with 2nd Ballard game. Up 6, tried to stall and turned it over. Lost by 2 or 3. Last night vs manual they was up 4 with 2:30 left, they went to stall and turned it over twice and lost in the end. Wouldn't say they're not playing consistently well. They just lose tight games everytime they get up and stall. May need to try something different. I'm for playing to win, not playing not to lose. That's bit them in the rear those 3 losses since lit.

You echo everything I was thinking. Central can't stall and win but they put the ball on ice too early.

There's a reasonable discussion in this thread with facts and information regarding NKU and other examples from other schools with similar occurrences. You don't have to take anything personal.

Disagree. They were originally banned from post season for 4 years. This past summer the A-Sun dropped the ban and said they could participate in the conference tourney. Bellermine can laugh all they want. I'm sure NKU will get the last laugh when Bellarmine is watching them on TV once they are eligible for the NCAA Tournament.

Better get a real coaching staff before you plan on laughing. Ask Coach Davenport about the person who is head coach at Northern Kentucky and see what you think after that.

What would the provision have been? If, out of nowhere and apropos of nothing the Atlantic Sun decides to allow you to play in the tournament and you happen to have a team good enough to host a game, then so long 9th Region?

No, not blasting Northern Kentucky, I let Coach Davenport do that even though they won't play Bellarmine no more. Northern Kentucky could come down here to Knights Hall and play their tournament, it holds more than Regents Hall.

People around Bellarmine have said for years Northern Kentucky was a D-1 wannabe who only went D-1 cause of the arena. Now they can't play in it because of high schools? If I'm a player on that team, I want answers and now. Sounds like Northern Kentucky's administration was asleep at the wheel.

As Clyde stated, it is true since the 9th Region has the BOKC.

 

And before people want to start ripping NKU or SMG again let me say the following:

 

NKU was originally ineligible for the A-Sun tournament. It is my understanding that the 9th Region contract was completed during the time that NKU was ineligible for the A-Sun tourney. Sometime after the contract was signed, the A-Sun lifted the postseason ban for NKU. But since their is a contract in place with the 9th Region, that contract must be honored.

Someone dropped a basketball cart on that ship of incompetence it sound like. Bellarmine folks will get good laugh out of that one since Northern Kentucky talked a lot of garbage before they left the GLVC how big time they are. Can't even play in their own arena for a tournament? Good luck explaining that to recruits.

One of the articles said Northern Kentucky men play in Regents Hall?!? Is that truth? Last time Bellarmine played Northern Kentucky it was in the big arena they have on campus. Now they play tournament games in Regents Hall? What up?

GLVC has online games, not sure about any ESPM stuff. The National Championship Game is on CBS for Division II. National Semifinals are on a network but not sure about which.

Brings up an interesting point that I don't think has been touched on. We now know per this tread there are more than a few white people who either haven't heard that word or didn't know the historical negative connotation associated with it. Do you think the same applies to blacks? Meaning there may be a lot of black people who either haven't heard the word or don't know it's historical use?
