  1. We got our shots from 3 point around the rim shots and just places on the floor where we usually hit high percentages. that's not an easy place to shoot in so I think on another floor it could be different. Not taking away from DCA though, they are a good team that can score. You don't want to be behind from midway through 3rd quarter through fourth. They will spread the floor and do a lot of one on ones. Regional depends on how the game is allowed to be played. We have had games where touch of 2 hands on player was called and games so physical you could be pushed 10 feet and not get a whistle. So teams just have to be ready to adjust.

  2. Before season started seen lots of posts about Wayne's guard and still some being posted now. We are solid at that position. Young man is a warrior that will battle you on bothsides of the court. As a freshman, he doesn't get pushed around like some competitors thought they might. Hopefully some mid season struggles are behind us and we continue to compete like we have the past couple weeks.

Warren Central is just now getting all there good players back including Kade Unseld. Boyle loss is a mystery.

If you seen Boyle shoot the ball, would not be a mystery. Don't know how many three's they made but they shot well over 50 percent I'm sure. Grant it, Wayne is not playing real well at this time but I think there are brighter days ahead. HOPEFULLY

All starters played and 3 subs.  Wayne shot 4-20 from 3 and let a kid put up 45 on them.  It was a bad loss.

It was a terrible loss and one of those nights where Wayne was having their way the 1st half with a 12 point lead at half then someone must have sneaked and put a lid on their basket in the 3rd quarter. We scored a total of 2 points in that quarter and that kid you talked about is averaging in the 30s a game. It was not that we played bad defense on him , but when a shooter is taking shots you really want them to take and knocking them down, not a whole lot you can say or do. We did have a chance to win it at the end of regulation with free throws but end up tied. another chance to win at last shot of first overtime and as the whole second half went the shot clanged off the rim.  we did beat a couple of good Tennessee teams so hopefully we never shoot like that again.

I went back and looked up Dumphord’s stats from when he last played two years ago. He averaged 8.2 points and 8.8 rebounds. 49% FG & 52% FT. Didn’t take any threes. Is that in line with what you’d expect from him this year? Is he more of a skilled kid or a physical banger type? Just trying to figure out how much his presence is going to impact Wayne and the balance of power in the region.

Dumphord from 2 years ago is no comparsion to what he looked like this summer. Wayne could easily have won 6 or 8 more games last year if he plays. We will probably struggle a little early with 6 football players getting into baskeball shape but we still so young I personally think the next couple years after this could be very good.

  6. Was a big time high school game. Wayne co has been without a starter or two all season long but is starting to come together as a team. Hope by the end of January we will be full strength and can make a run for the region title. Went 2 and 2 in Florida against some good teams with Rowan going 3 and 1 in the same tournament, so this was a matchup of 2 pretty good teams and believe both teams will make a run for the region title in respective regions.

  7. This young man is just a special talent. I think in 6 games now he has 1200 plus yards rushing. Not sure on receiving yards but has a bunch. I believe the 6 touchdowns last night gave him 30 through 6 games. Had a couple in the 1st quarter of the Danville game that got cancelled. If he played farther north would be getting more coverage than he does now, but lots of D-1 coaches knows the young man so that's a good thing.

  8. I either heard or read before that Braedon Sloan was the 9th best running back in the state. I would sure like to watch the 8 that are better. This young man was already leading the state in touchdowns prior to tonight's game and all he does is go out and touch the ball 6 times and scores 6 touchdowns. What an impressive football player.

  9. If they shoot 3's every game the way they did yesterday, they could be unbeatable. Anyone that has watched Wayne Co. play know we are not too bad of a defensive team and they hit some 3's against us that was head shaking. I grant you Wayne didn't have their best legs yesterday and we were a step slow but most of the shots were guarded and they just made some great ones. Warren Central certainly deserved to win the game. They are a solid team with about 9-10 players that doesn't drop off much when subs go in and out.

  10. I really think referee's do not work at the game near as hard as when it was just 2 calling the game. Lot's of them are not physcially prepared to do the game. They wait on each other in some instances to make a call since it's been 3 calling games. I personally witnessed games in Scott Co last night that some of the missed calls just from being out of position and guessing. Like i said, don't think lots of them work at being in position to call a game. Now with that being said i would not want their job.

  11. All this crap about each side having half the field is exactly what it is when warming up. Both teams don't go over the 50 unless to retrieve a loose football. When it comes to the home team introducing the starting lineup for either defense or offense it should be respectful for anyone on the visiting team to let it happen. Never been a problem before The ROCK starts their hollering and carrying on before the game ever starts and it was no accident what they did or planned to do.
