Come on Friday!!!!!
-
Go Ballard!
How can you root against the team that crushed Simon Kenton twice? If Simon Kenton won, I would be hoping for them to win it all. I want all NKY teams to head to Bowling Green.
No respect.
-
Very nice athlete:thumb:
What are his measurables?
6'4, 185
-
I was just going over his highlights over his 3 years as Dixie's quarterback up till now and thought i would share. Very entertaining to watch. This kid is special.
Enjoy
-
Sucker.....You looked! I'm not viewing it until it's in its own thread by itself. Need to make sure we satisfy everyone's ribbon requests.
I agree with you and I apologize. Hoge is an outstanding athlete and deserves every bit of the attention. I'll start a new thread for everyone's entertainment.
-
I call baloney on this post. Please show us one clip like that one. Moore is an excellent running QB but I doubt he has even one clip half as good as that one.
Enjoy the show
-
Dixie QB Drew Moore has done this all year but doesn't have a dad that works for ESPN. That was really cool though to see NKY football on sportscenter.
-
Not familiar with Ballard. If anyone has any info, please share. Strengths and weaknesses? Key Players?
-
I would love to see a college put 20 pounds on Moore and move him to running back.
A couple schools are looking at him as a WR which makes sense, he's got the body type for it. 6'4 185.
-
Dixie was obviously the better team..their defense is stacked and a lot of weapons of offense. Just wish Dixie would mix up their offensive plays and not run up the middle 98% of their plays. That's their strength but you gotta keep the defense on their toes and give them different looks. Play action, RB or QB sweep left or right, designed play for a pass to TE Hedger in the middle of the field.
-
According to UKFan, I thought this was going to be a game...Dixie is just this good. Their defense is the real deal.
-
Drew Moore had 14 of 16 passing for 145 yards passing last game at Ryle and 100 yards rushing. Even Ryle's coach admitted that Drew can pass if he has to. He will take what the defense gives him.
From what I saw last meeting with Simon Kenton, Moore and Zajac were doing whatever they wanted with the ball and I think it will be the same next Friday. The only way Simon Kenton could win this game is if Dillon Powell and Logan Winkler come out and have their best game of the season. They will need to get to 40 points to be able to keep up with Dixie's offensive weapons.
I agree with you, Dixie will have to use their passing game the deeper they get into the playoffs. Teams like Trinity will not allow the 50, 60, 70 yard big plays that Moore and Zajac do best.
-
Then you tell me what game on the schedule confirms the they have an unstoppable run game and good passing game. The only game will be in the state finals. If it's unstoppable and passing is good in the state game, I'm all in. But if we are saying Cov Cath was a fluke and Dixie would win now and most know Cov cath has struggled (even lost to Ryle) then we really don't have a "test the theory" game yet.
I'm confused. Look at the statistics all season, they've dominated with their running game. They have a passing game if they need to use it but they don't have to. If their struggling with the run then you try your passing game but they haven't had to change their game plan all season besides the terrible game they played against cov cath.
-
Wait. Unstoppable run and good passing game? Cov cath? I'm on the Dixie bandwagon and think they will win and I do hope whoever wins can make a run at it, but some of the adjectives being thrown around are a little over the top here. Now if you say unstoppable against the teams you've played so far, okay. But I'm not so sure Dixie's opponents are much better than SK' so far other than CovCath. And that one good opponent seemed to be able to shut down the pass and the run.
If you've followed Dixie all year, that wasn't even the same team basically the first game of the season. I think that beat down was actually great for them. it woke them up and they have dominated ever since. CovCath wouldn't stand a chance against the team Dixie is now. All that matters is who is at their peak and hot and has their game plan down going into the playoffs. 1st game of the season in August means nothing.
-
The difference will be SK has a passing game Dixie doesn't.
Dixie does have a passing game and it drives me crazy when people say they don't. Check their passing attempts all season. THEY DON'T NEED TO THROW THE BALL. Their unstoppable on the run, if the opposing team has no answer for the running game then you RUN THE BALL!
-
Although, I think Simon Kenton has 2 playmakers in Dillon Powell and Logan Winkler, Dixie is just too much on offense for SK to compete with them. Moore and Zajac do whatever they want with the ball and it's very entertaining to watch. Simon Kenton will have to put up at least 35 points to have a chance but I don't see that happening because Dixie's defense is hungry and aggressive. Dixie 42 - 17
-
The 04 team lost in the mud to a good Boone co team as time expired. They were as good as this. That's the year we beat Trinity at home to snap their ten year win streak. We were picked to be in the state final that year too.
Dixie boys don't get too hyped. Enjoy today and punch the clock again tomorrow. Your job ain't done yet. This is no time to relax and celebrate. We won a game. We've won them before. Winning it all is
what will make you remembered. Not coming up short. Continue to beat the teams you should beat handily. Beat Simon Kenton should be the only thought in your mind. If it isn't you'll be sitting home two weeks from now.
On a side note, more and company get a lot of credit but Dixie's secret to success is in it's trenches. The o and d lines are awesome.
I agree with you that they can't get too cocky, I'm just excited because I've seen them play in person all season and they are the real deal. They can't relax on Simon Kenton just because they dominated them last game. I was impressed with Logan Winkler. But if you're a dixie fan, how can you not feel excited for this team?
-
Dixie has an all around great team...it's not just Drew Moore which they need a player like him to win state but they are all hungry. Both sides of the ball. This is the most excited i think i've ever been for a team including college and pro. This is Dixie's year. One game at a time.
-
Dixie is just this good..no excuses for Ryle. These announcers give no credit to dixie on the online web cast. They didn't agree with dixie's pass call thinking their trying to run the scoreboard up. Are they not aloud to work on their passing game? Opposing teams can't stop the rushing attack so they don't get much chance to throw the ball. You can't get mad at dixie for dominating.
-
i'm hoping both teams are 100% healthy so there's no excuses whoever wins this game...game changed to 7 pm instead of 7:30
-
Supposed to be 22 degrees with the wind chill by kickoff...whoooooooo doggy. We need to have a bonfire on the track. Ha. Both teams are running attack dominate teams so shouldn't affect either gameplan with the cold. Loving the excitement and intensity of playoff football.
-
Dixie is on fire right now and it's at their home field...this should be a hard fought game but I think Dixie has too many weapons for Ryle... 42 - 21 Dixie
-
Ryle was the last team to give Dixie a game..should be exciting next Friday night. Dixie has been blowing teams out which is great but I'm ready for an actual game to watch. Should be a great playoff atmosphere.
-
It was 46 - 0 at halftime..did Dixie sit their key players in the 2nd half?
Trinity 47 Dixie Heights 14 (Class 6A State Championship)

Trinity was obviously the better team and deserved to win...congrats to Trinity. On a positive note, Highlands lost to Trinity 49-2 and I think Dixie could beat Highlands but we'll never know since that was the best Dixie team they'll ever have. The numbers Moore put up against that defense is insane.
