  1. Been watching a lot of Madisonville. FS looks like a JV team by comparison. Much smaller, no one to match the speed, and not nearly the experience.

    Tough one for the Wildcats to match up.

    Macdon, you kill me, not for one second do you think anyone can beat FS let alone Madisonville. But its good to try and get the FS kids fired up. Both teams will be ready for battle and as in the past few years it will come down to turnovers in a hard fought game.

  2. Everybody that plays Murray tries to make them pass, it doesn't usually work. They can run successfully against stacked boxes because they're used to it. I would venture to say OC has taken this same strategy into the last few they have lost to them. The only real question is can Murray get some stops of their own.

    If Murray gets a few stops & with the cold temps usually being in favor of the running team and the fact they can control clock, limiting OC Possessions they will pull off the win. If OC jumps out on top and the cold temps doesn't bother their passing game, game over their favor because Murray is not set up to come from behind. Just my Opinion.

  3. Just looking at the litratings, which some of you hate I'm sure it would seen 5A is down among the top three classes and 2A the strongest of the bottom three classes. Each class will be represented by how many teams they have in the top twenty, plus in parenthesis () the number that would be added if the field was expanded to include the next best twenty teams. and then a total.

    Classes with total teams in Top 40 Litkenhouse Ratings

    6A= 12 + (3) = 15

    5A= 2 + (3) = 5

    4A= 3 + (5) = 8

    3A= 1 + (3) = 4

    2A= 1 + (4) = 5

    1A= 1 + (3) = 4

    Strongest Classes from top to bottom

    6A -#1 as expected is easily the strongest class and should be.

    4A - #2 with 3 teams in the top 20 & 2 listed ahead of 5A BG plus 5 more in the expanded format 21-40.

    5A - #3 with 2 teams in the top 20 compared to only 1 for 2A

    2A - #4 with 5 total in top 40

    3A - #5 with Belfry & Corbin bumping 3A ahead of 1A because of their higher rating in the 21-40 grouping

    1A- #6 as expected being the weakest class

    Welcoming all arguments!

  4. None of those teams are beating Highlands. Two would have to di it in Ft Thomas.

    No one was going to beat Highlands last year either, oh but it happened. It happened because Highlands, Trinity, BG, Mayfield etc. will always have great teams, but sometimes, only sometimes mind you, one of the other teams in Kentucky get a great group of kids that do not scare so easily and figure they put their pads on just like our elite teams. When these teams do it is special, when the elite teams win it all, its expected, if they don't they are deemed failures. We will see how it goes the next few years with BG and Highlands battling in 5A. Trinity has already learned that ST. X, Male, Collins Scott Co. etc. don't scare so easy. Highlands will finally play up in division and BG will not back down from them. Mayfield may find getting out of 1A may change things for them a bit as well.

  5. JC. Madisonvilles leading rusher has been out for the second week and madisonville is not backing down. Murray is a big physical team and this was a good win. If you watched the madisonville Owensboro game a few weeks ago then you know madisonville played neck and neck with them and you guys have owensboro rated as possible tie with highlands. Madisonsville has a ton of team speed, don't understand what you have been seeing.

  6. Caldwell has a great QB and a ton of very good receivers no doubt. Murray will run clock and move the football against a bad Caldwell defense. Caldwell hasn't played many tough close games, this will be a real test. Murray puts pressure on Caldwell defensively and limits their possessions. Upset of the week: Murray 35-Caldwell 31
