  1. Great game from start to finish, 3 point game at half, tied at the end of 3. 51 all with 14 seconds to go. J Ohmer scored on a side out play and we missed a couple shots to tie. They hit 2 free throws with .4 seconds left to seal it. Our kids executed our game plan and played as hard as they could possibly play for 32 minutes. We were down a starter Max Hathaway (sprained ankle-done for the year) and Justin Blackburn was sick as a dog (leading scorer with 17). TC Eads did a fantastic job guarding Jake Ohmer but as good as Jake is he still had 20. Just a great team effort from our kids. Our staff hates to lose as much as anyone but we are pretty darn proud coaches today and have been all year. Gotta give Coach Fro and his team credit, they made the plays when they had to and never got rattled.

  2. We were outmanned, outsized and short handed last night against Dixie. Coach Chevy, his staff and players did a great job not embarrassing our kids in the least bit.

Our kids played extremely hard but sometimes athleticism, size and numbers catch up. Good luck to Dixie in the upcoming weeks. They get CovCath and Cooper in the next 10 days. Dixie is a really good basketball team and obviously well coached. District 34 matchups are set: Dixie vs. Ludlow/Villa winner and Lloyd will battle St. Henry.

  3. Panthers led 34-17 at half. Villa made things very interesting in the 4th quarter. Proud of our kids for persevering and pulling out the win. We preach energy, effort and enthusiasm all the time. Kids play hard each and every day. We now move on to the semifinals of the All A Classic against a very good Erlanger Lloyd team. Tough challenge for us but one we welcome for sure.

  4. 1st round All A game. Panthers led 35-19 entering the 4th quarter. Horrendous free throw shooting (5-24) and a no quit Bellevue team almost spelled disaster. Longest 4th quarter of our lives. Proud of our kids for hanging on! Played great defense and played with great effort again. Gotta hit free throws!

  5. Extremely proud of our kids for their effort and determination. We were outsized and out manned but continued to battle to the very end. 12-27 from the stripe was our undoing. Nolan Schrand hit some tough shots with defenders all over him. We had a three in the air to tie it with 24 seconds to go and it didn't fall. Hard to be upset as a coach with the effort we get but no matter how you look at it LOSING SUCKS!!!

  6. First win of the year for our boys after 2 tough conference losses. Defense continues to be stellar and patience on offense was huge. Chandler Booker led with 17pts, Justin Blackburn 15pts, TC Eads 10pts. Great minutes from senior Matthew Reusch and Junior Max Hathaway off the bench. Kids continue to work hard every day in practice and really play extremely hard. We preach playing with effort, energy and enthusiasm and they continue to do that. Very fun group to coach! Bellevue is going to have a great year and Coach Hicks and his staff always do a great job and coach their kids up. Good Luck to the Tigers the rest of the year!

  7. Great game to Coach and be part of. Coach Volpenhein is a great guy and will do great things at Dayton. Congrats to the Devils, they hit big shots when they needed them and we did not. Both teams played extremely hard. It was nice seeing the kids patting each other on butts and helping each other up. Lot of respect and sportsmanship showed by both teams last night. Some games in the past haven't been like that! Our kids are down due to the fact it was the first conference loss in 3 years. Back to work today for the Panthers! The streak is over and now we work twice as hard to get back on top!

  8. Lot of talent in NKY right now. Seniors off the top of my head- Jake Ohmer-Scott, Colin Teegarden-Campbell Co, Ethan Doty-Highlands, Trent Kincaid-SK, Thomas Schutzman-Villa, TC Eads-Ludlow. Very proud of TC and all he gives us at Ludlow. Going on a couple more visits with him soon. Close to achieving his goal of playing college baseball and working towards that degree.

  9. Final score doesn't indicate how close of a game this was. 43-40 with 5+ to go. Fatigue and foul trouble caught up to us. Very proud of our kids effort and energy. Played with a lot of passion. Spencer Hemmerich was the leading scorer of the game with 20+, he is going to have a great senior season. Congratulations to Coach Otte on his first of many Varsity wins. Great crowd at Ludlow for this one. Fun atmosphere and support from the Panther faithful.

  10. Highlands grad Zach Harris had 2 rushing TD's and Beechwood grad Max Nussbaum returned an interception for a TD in the final minute to give Georgetown a huge conference win against a very "big" and athletic Faulkner team. Very nice win!

This week the #11 Tigers travel to Kentucky Christian University for another big Mid South Conference game.

    Tiger Pride!
