  1. It was 34-7 at the half though and Franklin was fighting from behind the whole game. Maybe that's why Badge said that.

That is what I meant when I said that. I thought this game would would be close, but not a comeback kinda close. Spencer is a good team, but I don't think top 3, as I never believed FC was a top 5 at any point this season. FC had many missed opportunities in this game that could have changed the outcome. Then again I have not had the privilege to see the top 3 teams play.

  2. This game should have been a shoot out. Too bad the Flyer OC can't see the field, the deep pass was there all night. Flyers do not hustle and take entirely to long to get the plays called, clock management killed the Flyers. The penalties are still there, not as bad as weeks past, but there were a couple drive killers. The seniors need to lead instead of hanging their heads like they did in the first half. Coaches gotta get those hands out of their pockets and coach. Good job Flyers hanging in there, this was a tough gam against a very good opponent.

  3. Definitely what I meant about the sideline. Standing with their hands in their pockets, many of these penalties are lack of coach involvement. Another 11 for more than 120 yards. More than the fair share of the 15 yard variety. A direct indicator of a lack of discipline, that will be needed to make any kind of run in this district. I am taking nothing away from Collins, they executed well, and let the Flyers penalize themselves right into trouble. This has been an issue each week, way too many stupid penalties. Can't afford this performance next week.

  4. As a Flyer fan I was disappointed in our sidelines. I think our defense played well, but the offense never changed from sweeps, or toss plays that gained nothing. I will say we played a prepared Collins team that executed. Congrats to Collins! Yes this district is still wide open and very competitive. I have said all year the lack of discipline and the 15 yard penalties the Flyers seem to get every game is catching up, and costing the team. Really need to work on play calling as well.

  5. Franklin County is not a top 10 team, not taking anything from Beechwood, but that is the best team they have played all year. District will show when Anderson County will have their way with them. The problem is personnel put on the field. There are JV players who give more effort than the Varsity squad does. The team no longer has the athletes or QB to run the Franklin system. The biggest threat on the team is at best 75% due to injury. Time to start looking at different options Offensively and Defensively. They beat Frankfort, but Frankfort shot themselves in the foot. Frankfort should have beat them, not as handily as BW. FCHS has not faced a line the caliber or size of the BW line, in addition the corners are extremely weak, a good passing attack will spell big trouble.

  6. I was there and it was a great game on both sides for young players. Boyle County has a good future crop, as does Franklin County. Been following Franklin County a bit this year, can't figure out why the Janca kid #17 and the Lofton kid #10 are not getting more play on Friday night. They are very capable, and better hands than the Friday night receivers. Very impressed with Bramel and Tiller for BC. Good Luck the rest of the season Rebels and Flyers!
