  1. I guess as a colonel alumni, I have a problem with it. The atmosphere of the game was great for a while, but eventually Hoptown completely took the game over. After the students for County had given up hope early in the fourth quarter, students started throwing confetti everywhere. I don't have an issue with the mess so much, but the fact that a little of it was getting on playing surface during game. Could have easily caused an accident. To a couple of he students credits, they picked up some of it, but no where near all of it. Administrators were standing right there and never stopped it after they noticed it was getting on floor.

I have never witnessed an ending like the game. To get game over, county packed in under goal and let tigers stand in one spot and dribble out final 1:45+ minutes of games. Which makes confetti deal a little stranger.

  2. Colonel,

I can certainly understand where your coming from if you speak about Mr. Kenner. It would be like Jamale Carothers after his breakout Sophomore season decided to transfer to Christian County or Owensboro. That wouldn't sit well with many Purples fans and I don't expect it does in Christian County today.

Mr Kenner is a very good player who if playing on the other side Friday would have definitely had an impact on the game. That said, it was his and his parents choice to move to BG within the rules. That doesn't mean you have to like it though.

With BG, there is A LOT of "love em" or "hate em" and I realize that as many have repeatedly said they get preferential treatment and they may, but they also earn quite a bit of that as well.

I think Christian County is a terrific school and has a great program going now. I pull for you guys when you're not playing the Purple and Gold. In fact, I have gotten to know a certain Christian County Coach that I really admire and trade insight with. Best of luck going forward! You have plenty left in the cubbard!!!!

Make no mistake, I (we) am very happy (and proud) for Kenner. He is from a great family and is a great kid. I hope he rides this to a great opportunity to continue playing in college if that is what he wishes. In no way did I mean any thing negative towards any of the kids or BG program. I have personally used BG as an example of what a high school program should desire to be. By the way, if BG gets special treatment, they have earned it.

  3. This is such a stupid statement. I don't even know where to begin. In fact, I'm not. It doesn't even deserve a response.

What part is stupid? The part where I said it was sour grapes meaning that it isn't really a complaint so don't take it too serious? The part where I complimented BG as being a "great team"? Did you only focus on the statement that I question whether BG would be "as great" if the new players didn't show up randomly(apparently overblown after this conversation, so it isn't relevant and I was apparently misinformed). The part where I misspelled their names (by the way, sorry)? The part where I said Kenner would have likely played an even bigger role at Christian County? Or the part where I congratulated BG on winning a great game and said they were the better team? I really don't know which part you would consider "stupid" or inaccurate other than the part about transfers. The rest was meant to be complimentary.

  4. Lol. I told you it was sour grapes, I didn't say I was 100% correct. Sorry about misspellings, one was autocorrect and Carothers I just misspelled. As far as playing at BG, I already said I can't blame a kid for wanting to play there.. I have heard many Warren County parents(and surrounding counties) complain over the years about losing their best players to BG. I am sure some are exaggerated, but in no way can they all be. Can they? Once again, why would a kid pass up the opportunity. By the way, I am not talking about the R word. I am not even saying in any way that I think BG is doing anything wrong. I am just saying that they tend to get all of the athletes when they move to BG for whatever reason which gives them a huge advantage.

  5. Okay, this will be my sour grapes against BG. You have a great program, we all know that, but it is really hard to praise the coaches and program as being great due to the number of players on the team that weren't there initially as freshmen. Many have come as Upper class men even. Some are super stars and some are role players. It doesn't matter how or why they got there to me. Take this years team for instance: Caruthers (superstar) came from Owensboro as a sophomore, Pringle (superstar) came just this year from Tennesssee. Kenner (significant role player at BG, would have likely been superstar at CCHS) came from Christian County just this year as a junior. While he was only a role player at BG, he would have played both ways and been a 800+ yard dual threat out of backfield and as receiver for CC. How many others? Without this influx of talent each year, is the program or coaches really that great? Hard to say, but with that said, it would be a hard opportunity to pass up as a player.

By the way, great game. It is hard to say anything other than congrats because the better team won.

  6. Don't make the mistake of thinking Christian County doesn't have the athleticism or skill to match up with Bowling Green. I do believe BG holds the edge on the line and running back, but it isn't like CC is bad at those positions either. The biggest two things that CC lacked over BG earlier in the year are (1) actually believing they can beat them and (2) staying diciplined on defense. Almost every team in the state struggles with the first one but hopefully CC has gained some confidence as of late. As far as number 2 goes, they have worked on that all year and hopefully will be ready. There is no doubt that they have played much better since an ugly game in the rain against Owensboro.

  7. Hoptown is leading 14-0 in the 4th quarter. Going into the 4th quarter, Hoptown had held west creek to negative yardage for the game. One of the first plays that west creek passed into positive yardage, Hoptown forced a fumble that they returned for a TD to go up 14. First TD was a pass to Graham. Freshman running back has had a nice game. He is a approaching 100 yards. Hoptown is currently driving inside the 10.

  8. Christian played an absolute dud of a game. Got dominated in every portion of the game. Looked liked County played lots of kids tonight that just weren't ready instead of primarily playing starters. Maybe in the long run it will pay off? CC was not aggressive in any portion of the game. Honestly, I left a little confused by Lovelace's strategy other then I know he looks at all non district games as tune ups for district and post season. So, hopefully it will pay off. With that said, this is definitely not the Bowling Green of the past (yet). Past BG teams would have had running clocks early in the third quarter if not sooner. They definitely have some nice players, but didn't seem as complete as previous teams.
