I got a chance to see the new Bullitt East team under Coach Sander run through some offense last night. It appears that they have scrapped the veer. They were throwing the ball all over the field. They really had a couple of long receivers and a really quick looking back coming out the back field. Not sure about the players names, but it really did look different. The receivers and the back appeared to have better speed than i have seen at BE before. Granted, from a team that ran smash mouth veer football any speed would be better than what they appeared to have in the past.

This should be a very interesting year for North Bullitt. They have to replace some key players on an offense that put up over 4000 ydrs last year and went 9-3. Two really big holes are left by RB Logan James, who had over 1300 yrds and 18tds, and Dalton Walls, who had over 900 yrds, and 8 tds. They do return a very solid senior QB, Andrew Brown, and maybe their best all around player in Nate Johnson, but there are definitely some questions.

Jacob Darnell, Bullitt East, 6'4" 285lbs FB/ DE. He was 1st team All District OL as a freshman, then had an injury plagued Sophomore year. They have apparently completely changed their offense with the new coaching staff. It looks like he will be someone to watch this year.

Baseball games are about who is hot and when. The overall strength of bracket will have little to do with who wins the title game. That being said, there are no cake walks at this point of the season.
-
The Bullitt East team is very athletic and has some good depth on the mound. BE should pull this one out.
-
Yes, they have hired Matt Kuehn. He was the Defensive coordinator last year.
-
I would say that BE gets edge again in this one.

It is really sad how this is playing out. You have to feel bad for the players that are involved here. Their season is right around the corner. Other teams are preparing for the season, and they do not know who there coach is.
-
I keep hearing Adam Perrys name connected with job, but I have also heard Preston King`s name.
-
This job is not listed as open any longer. Have they found a new coach?

Coach Thornsberry is a solid character guy. Scoring was off for them last year; they were however really handicapped with injuries and a transfer. First string QB from the year before missed the entire season, 2nd string transferred, 3rd string missed several games with injuries. They actually played a TE and Freshman (who is not a QB) in several games.

I really hate to see this turn of events. It really seemed like they were on the right track. How are the numbers? I have heard there were some concerns about the numbers in the younger classes.
-
Spencer County has a few names you might hear a little about this up coming season.
SR Brandon Leff 5'11 175lb (RB/DB/LB) rushed for 1611 yards on 129 carries and scored 18 rushing TDs last season.
JR Kadin Smith 6'1 175lb (RB/DB) rushed for 1254 yards on 89 carries and scored 15 rushing TDs last season.
Both of the kids have really good speed, and should have a great year.

I saw that Coach Lawson has accepted the HC job at Eminence. Any movement on the BC job?
-
Konnor Polson, Bullitt East. Was QB 2yrs ago, sat out the entire season last year shoulder injuries. 6'4" and very athletic. Hear he may move to WR.
Hunter Perdue, Bullitt East. Only played two games last year, (fractured hip) had over 300 yards and 3 TDs in a couple of games. Saw him a track meet a few weeks ago. He appears to healed.

Ran a 4.83 laser timed at the Nike combine.
Yeah, as i am sure you know 40 times can vary. Sometimes they really get off well and others not as much. A friend of mine was at the Rivals combine in Nashville last year and saw him run a 4.67 laser timed. I just remember him telling me about it because i know the kid and did not think he was that fast.
All in all Cincy got a very good one. He is a great character kid and a competitor.
-
He has really good speed for a 6'4" Qb. He is right around a 4.6- 40yds.
-
I am not sure that most people would consider Lexington to be a significant improvement in location.
-
I believe the other two schools did not play a spring game. From what i have heard the NB Qb looked really good.

Any have any information on how things have gone for the 3 Bullitt County schools in spring practice? Should be interesting happenings.

I agree that Brown and Johnson are very solid players. They do have a very favorable schedule again this year, but I think am not sure that there is a supporting cast to help them.
If they can not get some of their younger lineman to step in and have an immediate impact, it could make it hard for Brown to be effective. With the loss on James and Walls, Johnson will get a lot of attention.
