Why wouldn’t they and Beechwood just swap spots in the 2 NKY districts? That would make too much sense. LOL
I’m sure that district is thrilled with that idea, lol

Brausch is a camel grad, I want to say 77’ or 78’.
-
Tough program to run considering 6a in NKY. That being said, the cupboard is not bear with some quality underclassmen on the team.

Is Schneider still running winter workouts? Heard someone else might be involved but didn’t recognize the name.

I believe it's $1800 now.
I’m not good at math, but let’s give this a try. Say Ncc had 10 home games per year (overestimate) @ $1,800 per game, that’s $18,000 per year. Let’s say it cost 4,000,000 to re-engineer the Hill. This doesn’t include maintenance or upgrades. At $18,000 per year, it’s 222 seasons of rental fees if there are no increases. Would it be feasible to approach Newport and remodel that field with separate locker rooms, new stands, improved concessions, etc? If Newport would be willing to have the field governed by an independent board to ensure fair use of the facility, it’s a win. These two schools have coexisted for decades, why not proceed in a similar fashion. In no way would I ever want to dictate how a donor wants to use his contribution. I think this option puts the donor(s) in a different light within the community.

I am not 100% sure but seem to remember hearing that the lease with Newport was made years ago and there is very little rental cost for the stadium use.
A couple years ago it was $1,200 per game. I don’t know the current rate.

The conversation in this thread has expanded to several topics I commented on in post #50. Although there has been talk of go ahead and do it no matter what the Bishop says, it won’t work out that way. It’s irresponsible to take on a project that can add financial harm. Not one of us on here would except the gift of an expensive car if we couldn’t afford the insurance or maintenance. It’s financially irresponsible and you would either sell or not except. Secondly, what’s the health of the feeder schools to ensure longevity? Several grade schools in Newport, Southgate and Fort Thomas have been mentioned, but none have a bulging student population. St Joe in Cold Spring has more then all of them combined. Ncc gets a few students from St Joe but no where near the numbers from past years. More have optioned for CovCath and Brossart for Catholic education. Not trying to stir emotion, it’s a fact. Growth at the southern end of the county will/has made it more difficult for Ncc to obtain those students. Sure, many have made the trip north on 27 to Ncc and still do, but that trend is reversing. I’m all for Ncc benefiting in anyway, but obtaining a sports complex may have missed its window when the option to buy the old Kmart property was passed up in the 70’s. Re-engineering the hill will only increase financial instability of a small private school relying on increased tuition or drain resources from the rest of the diocese to possibly maintain this facility. A maintenance plan will have to be employed to secure a facility of this magnitude. Ncc’s existence is based on catholic education, sports are secondary. It’s a hard pill to swallow for parents who don’t have kids playing sports to have a tuition increase to subsidize sports activities. Again, I wish nothing but the best for Ncc, just trying to point out some of my reservations.

Ok.....crazy! Won’t be close. Cooper by 30.

I was assuming the $23,000 number was the budget for the entire coaching staff. Not sure if I was misunderstanding or not...
Remember, just because an amount is budgeted doesn’t mean it is used.

the way my source was talking it seemed the potential donator has zero concerns or cares about the bishop.
Me personally would tell the bishop to take a hike. The Diocese needs the schools more than the other way around
What is the potential cost? You can’t put the Diocese or the school in financial harm unless the donor(s) are willing to pay for the entire facility and potentially include its maintenance. Can the school afford to pay to replace the turf when it’s time, or will there be another fundraising event? IMO, installing a facility of this magnitude is an incredible generous gesture, but it may of missed its timeframe. My only thought is it would be foolish for donor(s) to invest in re-engineering the hill without any guarantees it stays open for the foreseeable future. Let’s just say the Diocese decides the property is too valuable and they want to sell? Is the Diocese willing to reimburse the Donor(s) and some percentage of appreciation? I think not. There is no way people will invest with no guarantee it stays in place.

Hopefully the new guy brings/hires his own assistant coaches and starts fresh. Start with evaluateing all the talent and puts the boys in the right spots and on the field. Really haven’t heard much other than an assistant from Elder was interviewed. I heard the offensive coordinator was interviewed hopefully that is not the way NCC goes
Which OC? From my understanding there were oc-Oc’s.

My thought/question on this - is it possible CCH starts the season in game ready condition and is ahead of other teams? Then as the season rolls other teams have more room for improvement?
Probably so since “most” play aau and are one sport athletes. Not in all cases but some. Let’s face it, CovCath entered the season with a lot of hype and rightfully so because they do have some good players. Put that bullseye on anyone and now they are in a situation where the average player wants to have a career game against them. Nothing worse than playing against someone with a chip on their shoulder. CovCath will face this type of opposing mentality the rest of the year.

More than enough material in this thread to start 10 more. Picking a head coach considering all of the innuendo stated will be difficult. IMO, an experienced coach might like the challenge. A less experienced will be blind of the challenges and get run out of town faster than Dan whom people on the hill knew more than 30 years. Whoever the next guy is it will be Ron’s guy, no pressure there. The parents are going to have to like it or leave it. My guess is we’ll find out the answer to that if the next coach passes the litmus test. Winter workouts are gearing up, you’d think there would be a decision soon.

Overhyped as some have already stated. I’m all for being excited for your team and players but at least let the season play out.

Did Ryle beat Brossart?
Brossart beat Ryle to set up a rematch with Newport. I don’t remember the score but the margin was close to 20.

Fun game to watch. It was even a harder game to officiate but I thought the crew did a nice job. Both teams handled themselves well when it could of easily got out of control. Nice win Wildcats.

At least one of them would have a chance to make it too the finals out of the east if NCC was in the West like Beechwood, now not so much. Get a clue Joe and go back to bed, lol.
