You're right Marksberry is a very good player, the reality is he's not as good as either Johnson, again welcome to reality. guessing if either Johnsons played at SK, they both would be the best players in the country in your opin. again let's stay on task, and talk reality, not just about SK players. Sorry off 1" and 5Lbs. on Johnson from Newport, just going with what I've been told. Hate to cheat a kid on an inch, and 5 Lbs. hearing Johnson ate a Doule Cheeseburger and fries today, he's now 317. Please! Are you kidding me. Guessing most if not ALL players at this stage are not EXACTLY what is put on the roster. Give me a break.

DE- Combs, Beechwood- 6' 4" 230 He's long, moves well, and plays hard.

DE- Machlitt, Dixie- 6' 3" 235 Great Motor, moves well, uses hands very well.

DT- Johnson, Dixie- 6' 4" 275 State wrestling champ. strong as an Ox, must be doubled every play.

DT- Johnson, Newport-6' 2" 310 Total Beast, a nightmare to block.

NT- Markberry, SK- 5"11 240 plays hard, moves well, plays through the whistle.

SK returns starters NT #90 Marksberry, LB #45 Deaton, LB #7 Hicks, and LB #24 Carter. But SK had at least 12 other players getting a lot of playing time on defense. SK will have the best defense like always!

??? Dixie had the 2nd best D. in the state last season, behind Meade Co. Check the stats Blow Hard SK guy. SK WON"T even have the best D in 6A in NKY, this year,100% fact! We get it, you love SK, but in order to have a conversation on these boards, you have to speak the reality of the situation, and for SK, Kuntz is gone, and SK ISN'T even close to the same team as last season, again 100% fact! The reason I think the 6A will go this way, is from what I've seen and know of the players coming back, not to mention I'll take my friends opinion who is a college recruiter and knows of what he speaks, and he thinks Dixie has the best bunch of players coming back for it's team this season. I'll go with his opinion, over some players dad like UK Fan #1, who thinks SK is some national power every year, his ssttick has gotten very old, very quickly.

They do according to those who seem close to the program. Just cause they started that game doesn't mean they don't return 9 starters. Would be nice to get a list of the 9 they're talking about. I guess if they had replacement starters agains SK that would explain why SK won.

The ONLY 2 players on this list who started most of the time, was Risch, and Fisk, so YES, Dixie does indeed return 9 starters on D. Sorry SK UK fan#1 the bell is going to toll for SK this year against Dixie, good luck stopping Owens and Moore, you'll need it.

P.S> Good luck running the football this season as well, SK lost there best two O lineman from last year, along with Kuntz, and other very good players, keep talking it up UK Guy, it's all you got this year. You better worry about CC as well, this ISN'T the same SK team from last season, sorry reality will soon prove you're all talk with no walk this year, get ready to eat that crow this season, I hear it taste like chicken.

1) Dixie- Will have the best D in 6A, maybe the state, 9 starters return. Not to mention the best QB in NKY, thinking Dixie could be this years SK from last season. JMO.

2) Campbell County- returns 45-50 Seniors. this season, just have to hope the 6'8" QB has gotten better, this team should be tough.

3) SK- lost the best player in NKY last year, lost two studs on the O line. and several other really good players. SK will be good, but can't see them beating Dixie this season, but could beat CC and finish second. (Sorry UK #1 Fan)

4) Ryle- great group of Soph. but with new coach and no real QB, think 4th is as good as they can be this season.

5) Boone- Last season Boone did have a good O line, but lost all of them. The Guru's son is a good player, along with the Floyd kid, could fight it out for 4th place this season w/ Ryle.

look you want the position coach to bring the film to the head coach my experience is If your film and size fits the mold they will answer emails. I have 100% fact that they Do!

Your High School coach should be a big part of this. Why sit back and let him do all the work.

Not one time have I said " sit back and let him do all the work. " My WHOLE point is your high school coach has a way better chance of getting to his or her next level coach vs. his mommy or daddy. Again 100% fact!!!

Coaches phone numbers, schools athletic dept. phone numbers, head coaches e-mails, NO WAY a head coach replies to you if do any of these things to get his attention about your son. 100% fact! I understand NOT ALL high school head coaches are willing to help out, however if they DO, it's your best option vs. you, the parent contacting them, again 100% truth. You did have some good points, but you are WAY undervaluing the importance, or difference maker a high school coach can be for your son's chances of getting an athletic sch. to college.

Only a couple of reasons for cut blocking to begin with. Slow down a rusher, or on a quick, hot pass. I think to many coaches try and teach cut blocking, and don't know the proper tech. to teach, and it also causes O lineman to become lazy blockers, with no feet Once or twice a game, fine, anymore then that causes lazy lineman. Not a fan of this blocking tech at the high school level.

You must do more than that. D-1 schools receive hundreds of HUDL links weekly. autopart101 has the best advise. Just sending your HUDL tape and nothing else is not a good idea. Send a brief email with your HUDL link I mean brief. Telling the coach who you are, include your validated measurables and why you are different from other prospects they are considering. Just important are your grades provide them with your current GPA..ACT score and ranking. Parents must get informed to get their child recruited.

The ONLY thing on here that you might not include with your hudl highlights first time, might be GPA until senior year, and or ACT scores, which you can send later in the spring. Most coaches understand this. Parents DO need to get informed, but I'm telling you if you try and contact a coach by yourself, as a parent, and or friend of a player, college coaches WON'T take that call 99.9% of the time. Just trying to help ALL high school football players further there careers.

I have no idea who will be behind center this year. I didn't follow the JV team any so not sure who they have in the pipeline etc. If they do find someone that can take the job and can spread the ball around accuratley then Bac' should have a huge year if he stays healthy.

Again, that's a BIG IF, the Bac kid is a good athlete, but you can't have a HUGE year, if no one can get you the ball, and at this point I don't know who Boone has that can do that. You can't make a trade in high school.

That's going to be a BIG IF, I like the Bacigalupo kid, but Boone will struggle throwing the ball this year.

Put Beechwood's Jonathan Stokes in the mix at TE. He will be one of the best receiving TE in N. Ky. this year.

Stokes might be the 3rd best on this list, and while we are talking about Beechwood, Slusher is a better receiver then a defensive player, JMO.

Hearing the Moore kid from Dixie is headed to Florida over spring break for some type of a football camp/trainning. Best of luck to you young man. Moore should be fun to watch this up coming season.

I know plenty about high level recruiting. Best friends with a high level SEC recruiter. Trust me, highlight film means little.

High school film means little to nothing in recruiting. Most kids aren't going to play the same position and/or are playing terrible competition.

I wish people who knew nothing about recruiting would stop making random statements. You are correct about a lot of kids NOT playing the same position in college, but film is a great indicator of a kids game speed along with his type of motor. College coaches DO value high school game film, such as hudl.

Literature is a lot different then a full ride div 1 schor. enough with the trans. thing, PLEASE!!!

Having a friend who does recruiting for HS players, believe me, if a parent, friend, brother, etc. would try and contact a coach about his or her son or daughter, 99 out of 100 times the college coach would never take that call. Your HS Coach can be a HUGE help, and yes, you both are right, it's not his or hers HS coaches job to find a sch. for the player, but again his or her HS coach sure can be a HUGE help in the process.

Grades ACT scores are big. I want to add you don't need your HS. Coach to do any of the work. Have him make the H/L then go to work. Some SK posters on BGP were saying their H/S coach wouldnt help in recruiting. IIt's not his job to find you a school.

Could NOT disagree with you more about your HS coach helping out. You are correct it's not his job to get your son a scholarship, but believe me College coaches are 100% more likely to listen to his high school's coaches opp. over yours any day, 100% FACT!!! his high school coach will be a HUGE help down the line.
