    The Camels took on the Thoroughbreds at the annual John Turner Classic at Newport High School. The Breds came out of the gate with 8 quick points but Campbell County rebounded by taking a 17-11 lead after the first quarter. Offensively the Camels continued to hit shots with Senior Cole Hegyi and Senior Garren Bertsch combining for 12 of the teams 18 points in the second quarter. Campbell County went into the locker room with a 35-26 lead over NewCath. In the third quarter, Bertsch continued his offensive domination by adding 11 points including going 3 for 3 from the free throw line. NewCath came back with strong defense in the 4th quarter but the Camels proved to be to much.

     

    Bertsch lead all scorers with a game high 31 points. Cole Hegyi also added 23 points. NewCath was lead by guard Brennan Hall with 26 points.

    Dixie came out strong in the first half going into the locker room up by 4. Campbell was down as much 11 in the third quarter but they clawed their way back in the 4th quarter and eventually tied the game at 59 with 40 seconds remaining. After a Colonel turnover Campbell County Junior guard Tanner Clos drove to the basket ultimately getting fouled. Clos hit 2 free throws with 5 seconds remaining sealing the win for the Camels.

     

    Dixie's Meyer lead all scorers with 22. Campbell County was lead by Senior forward Cole Hegyi with 14, Senior forward Garren Bertsch and Cos each scoring 13.

  9. Congrats to the Campbell County Freshman boys for advancing to the 10th region finals by defeating Mason County 62-34 at Campbell County. Camels took an early lead and never looked back as they dominated the Royals in all facets of the game.

    Big congrats to Frosh Head Coach Brett White for continuing to lead the Camels through an undefeated season as they are currently 19-0.

     

    Great Season and Good Luck in the finals on Thursday.

  10. Camels came out looking well rested. CC was led by Senior Blake Losey with 6 points in the first qtr taking the lead to 13-4 after 1. CC kept up the pace going into half up 32-13. Losey led all first half scorers with 12. BC didn't quit after the first half however CC was just too much for them to handle. McGoveny did a good job of keeping the game at CC pace and Wilson and Jackson both had some very convincing dunks.

     

    CC was led by Losey with a game-high 18 points. BC's leading scorer was Baker with 13.

     

    CC will face the winner of the Pendelton Co/ Augusta game on Mon at 6pm at The Fieldhouse

  11. The Camels came out ready to show all the nay sayers that they were wrong last night! This was a total team effort led by Junior center Matt Wilson with a game high 18 points and 11 rebs. Sr. guard Blake Losey and Sr. forward Dre Jackson followed with 11 points each and Jackson adding 4 steals. Junior guard Trent McGovney added 5 assts. CC made 23 field goals holding Scott to just 7. The Camels will face off against Bourbon County on Wed, March 4 at 6pm at Mason County Fieldhouse.

  12. The Camels came out on fire scoring 22 points in the first qtr led by Dre Jackson's 10 points including two 3 pointers. The Camels followed up with a complete team effort and going into halftime up 35-19. BB was lead by Spencer Hackworth in the first half with 8 points. CC continued their scoring throughout the second half out scoring BB 31 to 25.

     

    Campbell County was lead by Matt Wilson's game high 26 points and 13 rebs. He was followed by Blake Losey, Jackson and Trent McGovney all scoring 10 points each.

     

    Hackworth led the Mustangs with 11 points, followed by Zink with 8 points and Crawford's 7 points.

     

    Camels will face Scott on Fri at CCMS.
