In starting lineup today @ Yankee Stadium.

7-0 Sycamore end of Q1.

Definately talent for sure but those coaches are demanding a ton from the kids and they are responding.
Great point Q. On top of that, the coaches have the "skins on the wall" for the kids to see. It is amazing what winning can do for a culture - it simply feeds off itself.
There is a program slightly east of Park Hills that plays with an oblong ball that can tell you all about it.

7/21 - 9A @ Campbell Co
7/27 - 6P @ Wyoming
Played @Milford last Thursday.

Very sad news. Prayers to the Wehry Family and sincerest appreciation for all they have done and continue to do for Covington Catholic.

I should add, for various reasons, the Kids were the crowd favorite for the championship game, which was played directly before closing ceremonies, so most of the tourney field and parents were there. At various points, 90% of the crowd (guessing 500 people), from all over the country, participated in chants: "KEN-TUCK-EEE" and "GO BIG BLUE". It was simply amazing.

Congrats to the KY Kids 12U baseball team, coached by Joel Steczynski, Wayne Siemer, Brian Isler, Paul McCauley and Scott Smallwood. Last night, they won the AA Division tournament championship at the Omaha Champions Village in Omaha, NE. The Kids went 8-1 over the course of the week, with wins against competition from Colorado, Arkansas, California (twice), Wisconsin, Arizona, Louisiana and North Carolina. They won four, one-run games yesterday in the single elimination phase to claim the crown. Great job boys! Great job coaches!
As an aside, the roster is a mixed bag of 2015-2016 7th/8th graders that will likely be attending Scott, Dixie, Ryle and Cov Cath. A great melting pot of Kids!

JJD- U are correct. The Raider stickers were 89'. Saw the pics you were talking about. Brings back some good memories. Wasn't sure til I saw Jimmy Roberts sticking his hand up to knock down a pass by a CC qb and remembered that was his SR yr. Originally i just saw Bryson Warner and Jeff Lindemann and assumed since Bryson was playing it was our junior yr but he played as a soph. I myself am more a fan of the new Boone uniforms as well as Frankfort. The only thing I would add is bring back the neck rolls! More intimidating!!
I was playing at Cov Cath at same time, so it sounds like we chewed some of the same dirt - always a fun opener. Love the neck roll comment - made the LBs look enormous!

Boone used the Raiders logo one year 1990. Coach Hauck was not a fan of change as many of us know
The Raiders logo was '89 season ('89-'90 school year). They switched back to REBELS in '90 ('90-'91 school year). One of the other threads has old school FB pics. You'll find pics from both years there.

Pretty sure Boone used the Oakland Raiders logo at one point in the late 80's/early 90's. I'm a fan of Boone's color scheme and uniforms.
They used the Raiders logo for one year only - 1989.

No doubt, good job Colts!

I think Ryle got a pretty good draw. The only problem is DHS, who has pretty solid and deep pitching.
I think it's fair to say that each of the contending teams in the bottom portion of the bracket were the beneficiaries of a good draw. As far as who the contenders are, we'll find out shortly. Should be a fun day.

Tough to argue that anyone in NKY is playing better ball right now than HHS. Scary combo of pitching and hitting.
-
Conner JV beat Simon Kenton earlier tonight, 11-0. Complete game shutout by Conner pitcher Nate Atkins (freshman).
CovCath will play Conner JV tomorrow, 7:00PM at Dixie. Game might be moved up earlier in the day.
Based on previous head to head results, sounds like a great matchup. Hope Mother Nature cooperates.

16-4
Thanks Clyde. I got score second hand, so I didn't want to post.
-
Cov Cath over Beechwood in JV semis.
-
Is this Garren Colvin's kid?
No.
-
Congrats Colonels - finish 22-3 on the season and held opponents to three total runs in the tournament. Very impressive.
-
Is it Hoeh?
-
Are we down to these two?
I have not seen the Colonels this year. Camels have a really nice frosh team.
Yes - 7p tomorrow night @ Dixie
-
Thanks for the updates, hopefully they'll meet again soon with some higher stakes. Congrats to HHS on a quality win.
-
Freshman Regional Semifinal:
Cov Cath 6 Ryle 0 - complete game shutout for Thomas Cody.
-
Any result of the Beechwood/CovCath Frosh game?

Feels like we are in a very special era of Cincinnati HS football. I know it's always been good, but these recent years seem awfully good in historical context. Enjoy!
