  1. LOL I guess it doesn't unless you understand Greco Roman Wrestling and an incoming HS SR who places at Fargo in that sport against the best upperclassmen and incoming college Freshmen in the Country .One of the oldest sports on the planet that requires balance speed skill and an abundance of Power many coaches in many states push their lineman in particular to wrestle just for the benefits of this particular sport .

Not to mention hes simply stronger than any kid I have ever seen in the state period ,becoming a Greco AA in a state that is not known for that style or has never produced a single Greco AA is pretty impressive. There is not a single football player anywhere near his sise in the state that could survive on a board /line drill with him no blue birds no shamrocks no Pioneers ,no one .But don't take it from me im bias lol just put him and the rest to the test in the weight room or on a field or both .Anyway thought it was neat a kid playing Ball who is obviously going D1 in a different sport because he loves it accomplishing something very notable in a sport requiring so many abilities similar to those needed to be a great Football player .Look it up

  2. Austin wins four in a row before losing to last yrs freestyle and Greco

National champ incoming college fr Roy Nash then takes another loss putting him no less than sixth and making him Kys first ever Greco All American in the JR Division , not bad for a kid in only his second Freestyle or Greco Tournament in Three Yrs ,now its on to battle for fifth or sixth and Freestyle in starting on thurs and a shot at Being Kys first ever Double Fargo All American in any Division .

  3. I train two one is a beast but isnt playing .The other Is the strongest I have ever seen lol Austin Myers. He didnt play in the 7on 7 games he was preparing for Greco and Freestyle Nationals in Fargo where he hopes to become KYs first ever Greco All American in the Jr Div and Kys first ever Double All American in the whole tournaments history.

Hes on A different level in the Gym than most kids probably All ,Looking at Ill .Mich State ,Iowa State ,Cornell.NC State

and a few more .for wrestling ranked 1 for incoming srs in the nation at 220 currently .pulls over 6 ,and benches clean reps with 315 for 6 to 8 one arm s atches 125 + and trains strongman ,and has been an Ohio Naga youth Champ .

all at around 220 to 30 .Hes a Monster but dont take my word for it google him ask or watch .He has trained since he was Six yr old and he will make men look like boys.has a shot at being Kys first ever totally undefeated inn season HS wrestler and the nations first ever 4x state champ at 220 .I raised him to devestate people and thats what he does he is the most dominant wrestler in the Central USA winning the ow at central regionals in Freestyle and Greco .no one lasted a period with him in Freestyle at Regionals and yes a football thread discussing Power .

so I think a wrestler who dominates his and others states is powerful.

  4. nice jump 45 lbs in a day .JK ,I would.believe that .

Not sure ,I know there are some.kids who would be up for it if Coaches would get on board I think some like to keep.these things to themselves .I think its great way to raise.money for teams.or.Charity and a great side goal / sport for all kids.not just Football.Players . I could.get some.sponsors im sure and.some.great judges or however coaches wanted.to do it .I could even.get the Yeagers to.judge I bet lol .There could.be weight classes and an.overall for over and.under a certain weight as well as team.awards .

  5. Well If you read my posts you would see that I said I was on the powerlifting team Ludlows my fresh yr and Bellevues my jr yr I was a 16 yr old sr my friend and I went to 4 schools my fr yr 4 my soph yr one my jr yr and a different one my sr yr Highlands where I won their school powerlifting contest to the dismay of all their football players Ken Shields Ran their contest ,and I went to school there with Zeke

Reynolds and Marty Moore among others so I couldn't be on CC team because I went there my fresh yr and moved and was on Ludlows team .

As I said I doubted you were on the team or ever saw the Yeagers lift or compete ,since it was circa 1984 -6 I doubt there are any videos anywhere but im betting the yeagers still have their trophies lol and I did see where Keith won a pretty impressive award from the US ARMY for blowing away their Push up record at the time lol ,Your way out of line questioning people and events there are certainly people on this very Forum other than myself could attest to.Regardless of past events and I do have the news Papers with bellevues team and lifts posted in it like McGahas 500 squat.

I am an 8 x ohio open powerlifting Champion with photos videos and awards to prove it I have no reason to lie about lifts by others over 20 yrs ago and im more focused on the now and the lifts of those young athletes I work with ,Care to see videos of them .or care to come to CC where they go and watch them do it in front of you .

  6. You obviously were not on CC Powerlifting Team and neither was I ,but every kid in NKY who went to the meets back then saw the Yeagers Dominate all the lightweights with ease .I was on Ludlows then Bellevues team so I have no reason to pump up the yeagers other than they were impressive and my friends later ,As for the kids I speak of now ,No problem .I went to CC as well Surprised if you did go to school with them you would doubt it ,either way some records are about to get broke there I doubt anyone breaks if ever .

  7. Cool i read your post never took it for a doubt ,just thought it was neat we actually track them with video it seems to be the rage amongst some of the highly recruited kids particularly the football kids.We have the videos on our phones and tablets and actually even in our gym as everything is on camera .Just got one of those big tractor tires for the members and kids ,anyone HS kid or other is welcome to come train with us exchange ideas and knowledge or just lift .

  8. NO ,LA connection ,and the Finish line when I was a teenager Kelly was a couple yrs older than me red neck drunks do not like getting thrown around by teenagers and 165 lb kids and we did not like being disrespected by old drunks when we considered ourselves athletes ,so we did not stay employed very long in those smaller clubs lol. Always dangerous hanging around him people liked to shoot at him for some reason ,nothing like getting of work going to the pepper pod on Monmouth street turn the corner and have someone yell theres that bleepin Yeager and then start shooting at you .lol guess we were Bullet Proof or very fast

  9. I'd love to see video of some of these lifts you're referencing.

The old ones you will have to take on my word and of course the word of hundreds of people who have seen those particular lifters way back when As for myself I have film photos and hardware to prove what I have done as for the Campbell County kids I also have film and photos of them as well ,the modern age is great watching a kid pull six hundred lbs in a gym equipped with weights that are actually shorter than those used in High Schools is very impressive as is watching a kid rep 315 like its a normal persons warm up 275 for ten 315 for six 370 for one after a football or wrestling practice is a nice day for anyone if you like we could come to your own school and show you in Person ,and yes if you like we enjoy betting as well lol

  10. Keith and Kelly Yeager ,and yeah nearly or 200% of Bodyweight on the bench is pretty impressive and x two made it more so .I saw 18 Yr olds Squat 600 in competition back then pull 550 and bench 405,Dimusio kid from either loyd or Dixie I think pulled over 550 at a weight well under 250 a beast back then .I see a 15 yr old CC kid under 200 pull well over 400 regularly and another sr around 220 pull 600 and bench close to 4 every week ,the goal is 450 Bench and 700 Deadlift before graduation no real goal on the squat I would assume 6 or better .

these guys do 1 arm snatches and never max on power cleans but a 125 lb one handed DB snatch is pretty impressive and I have never seen any other High School kid do it in person.

Back in the 80s/90s the powerlifting competitions were ran by Tom Geimeir a teacher at Ludlow then and Ludlow always had a heck of a team.

Numbers would always win the meets giving the big squads an obvious advantage .

  11. What's more important than the weight is the % of thier body weight they are lifting.

all depends on the position and what your goal is ,a 200 lb LB benching 300 is great and in percent is better than a 350 lb lineman benching 500 but the lineman would be a BEAST among Beasts .

there are formulas for such things ,"percentage of BW is not a fair formula as a lighter guys BW goes into the lift or lifts more times than say all the powerlifts added together ,ie the weight will go into say three lifts six times and there are only 3 lifts giving lighter guys an edge ,the Olympic Schwarts sp formula is a better gauge .

  12. In terms of 14-18yr old kids, yea 330 is a pretty great bench. If you're in high school and bench over 300 and squat over 400 you're a pretty strong dude. No matter what your size.

yes any bench over 3 is good for any kid but for a School Record 330 by a kid over 300 lbs is not what most would consider much above average I was in no way knocking his lift it is good but for a school the sise of SK with a nice program a Bench record of 330 is not what I expected .I would guess under the right circumstances he could improve his bench greatly at his sise .

The squat is always so unpredictable and left up to interpretation by those judging the lift ,A Deadlift is a bit more honest of a lift I sure there are a lot of kids who can squat 400 partial or on a bench but doing a true Squat is a bit different a real parallel squat is a lot harder than hitting a bench as many schools do and count towards a kids lifts .Not saying that is how anyone does or counts theirs .

  13. I would like to see powerlifting come back to NKY the way it was in the 80's and 90's. Western KY and Eastern KY continue to have good powerlifting programs. Trinity, North Bullett, Mercer Co., and Trigg Co. have done very well recently. Most of the eastern mountain teams have powerlifting clubs. Went to an event at North Laurel HS (London, KY) this March. Over 500 players from 17 teams. Great event. I hear Boyd County has a good event in early March.

That's great stuff ,seems there would be more interest in such things in NKY like in the 80s and 90s

Just to the north Cincy Columbus and in general Ohio is some of the greatest powerlifters in the nation not so much in the High Schools but still a huge following that could spread to the High schools and various sports .

I cannot understand why it did not grow and instead went the opposite direction is it a problem amongst various teams wanting to keep their numbers to themselves or just lack of interest or improper promotion of the sport ??

Not blasting anyone 330 is not a great bench for anyone of that sise in HS Campbell County had 165 lbers who could do that in the 80s The Yeager Brothers ,Dixie had a kid named Hatfield who squatted 500 as did Bellevue McGahay ,both able to bench around that or more at 220 ??
