Meade Pride

I am not totally up to par on the team this year yet. I have worked alot this year but we have a few really good athletes every year. Played and graduated in 08 one thing I do know for certain Coach Mofeild is one of the best in the business he always does the best with what he has to work with. They always are prepared and fundamentally sound. It isnt lack of coaching that's for sure he continues to amaze me with what he accomplishes with those kids. He not only developes good football players he develops productive men in society. That goes with all the staff they are special Coach Wilson is a heck of a coach too alot of respect for them guys.

41 officially this year it looks like. But not sure, spring conditioning is brutal but it weeds out alot of kids. I think sadly kids just dont want to play anymore plus in a rural area most of these kids go to work after school instead. I cant explain why exactly but it's just the way it is down here the county is divided into 4 sections it's a large county most kids take activity busses home I'm sure that detours alot of kids as well not being able to get rides after games etc.

I'd have to disagree with you there. Meade had a great run in 2013 and 2014 due to a talented class of kids. Other than those two years they haven't been impressive and are usually in the bottom half of 6A.

2008: 5-6

2009: 6-6

2010: 7-5

2011: 4-7

2012: 7-5

2015: 3-9

2016: 2-9

2017: 5-6

 

And they don't exactly play a brutal schedule

 

 

 

True and there's no reason SK's drop should be permanent, especially not if Meade County shows themselves to be a good team this year. But right now we only have history and one game to judge on and honestly, SK struggling in this game doesn't make them look like a top ten team.

Been deep in the playoffs year end and year out. I disagree with strength of schedule look up the strength of schedule . No respect for Meade plus they only dress on average 30 to 40 kids if that. They are always getting no love I remember in 08 Meade was picked to lose against Male and after it was over all crickets. That's how it always Is, some schools dont have the luxury of dressing 80 kids. These boys play both sides of the ball SK probably has starters on each side.. That speaks volumes on the conditioning and coaching on Meade some of you are crazy saying Meade has no business playing SK.... 2001 St.X said the same thing.... "Little" Meade County upset them.

Maybe not in the way of a billion state championships but if you walk down those halls Meade prides itself on tradition it might not be as flashy but there is for sure a rich history and a sense of pride. Yea we may not be big but there is a lot to hang a hat on in this blue collar town. I'm sorry I forgot Trinity is too good and better at everything and nobody should give credit to anybody but them. Yea our boys won't run tonight. Anyways its about them boys not us I was just trying to imply that our tradition is special too.

I agree, Not all of Meade is like that. I am just Thankful for our success . a lot of Meade Alumni paved the way and carved the tradition. This program is very special to a lot of people and it got that way with hard work... Not words spewed carelessly. That trash talk stuff is not the way we do things, All Meade Countians stay humble remember what we have accomplished but never forget where we came from neither. Act like we've been here before!

Pretty sure he is referring to when Meade shocked X in the playoffs. I'll never forget that game. That's why we play the game. Tradition at Meade Is just as good as T... They won't back down just because of a name.

All I have to say is we have shocked X in the playoffs before why not T? It's not the size of the dog in the fight but rather how much fight is in the dog.

Meade has the Roy A. Peace football camp for kids not sure on price or dates but I think it's for kids 8th grade and younger.

For Meade to run blitz packages we need speed, something that is a rarity here. Plus teams we face predominantly run the wing t or spread look which means no containment if we run the wrong blitz for the jet sweeps or any out side runs or pass coverage.. If we had speed it would be effective. But we have to play Team football and not worry about one player getting all the glory. The linemen keep the linebackers clean to make plays and i don't see no 4'3 speed so I'll take containment any day.

I think if he gets the kids to buy in, at the end of the day it will be all good. I played under Mattingly and the greatest thing I look back on was his weight lifting program. He gets the kids in such a shape that it feels like as a player they are the baddest dudes on the field which translates to confidence and toughness and most off all no fear.. we had that were tougher than our opponent mentality and in my own opinion is what Central lacked when playing Meade but I feel it's gonna change.

That's why Mattingly has had top 10 defense's year in and year out. He won us more games than I can count. If you ask me he runs the most fundamentally sound defensive scheme in the area.

Mattingly will change the mentality of that program they won't be scared of Meade anymore.. The weight lifting will change and he brings a Meade offensive line coach with him. The wing t will be very successful with Mattingly as coach. It might take a few years to get that "air raid" mentality out of there but he will win ball games and kids will buy in.

Obviously we can not replace a Tim Mattingly. With that being said life goes on. Everybody thought it was the end of the world when Larry French left but Coach Mofield exceeded expectations. Meade will stick to physical, fundamentally sound football and will be okay. Coach Mofield does an excellent job. The Central Hardin match will be tougher I'm sure but Meade will win football games. Just like we always do.. Underrated and off the radar the way we like it.

Looks like I'm one of the few looking into a 30+ point beat down that one team took from a common opponent that the other team decisively beat then.

 

I agree comparing scores isn't an exact science, but come on, 30 points with no injuries or anything similar and I get questions as to why I'd think this is relevant?

 

And I don't doubt that Meade hasn't gotten better. I was just wondering if there was more of an explanation as to why they experienced some of the losses they did.

I cant think of any other than they played Breck county first game of the season and had to adjust rather harshly to a whole different game speed.. Meade could of picked the score in that game it did them no good would of been more productive in practice but they want to renew the rivalry

If you look back to 2006 John Hardin beat Meade like 31-6, Meade comes back and beats John Hardin in the District championship 14-6... Scores mean nothing ots how you prepare and how much you can learn during the season.... Early losses better Meade team now for it.. this one will be a classic.

Yea you can not compare losses... If that was the case Meade County would be ranked up there with Bowling Green because we gave up less points than they did to John.. This comparing scores stuff is crazy, its all about matchups. How a team lines up to anothers offense, how physical and a less seen factor in mental toughness in terms of being ready and not being intimidated which happens alot when little teams play big well known schools like T,X..

I will.say it again this week after so many discounted Meade beating Butler... Meade has just as much as a chance as Scott County tgis game will be a classic smash mouth game.. Scott isnt going to roll over Meade..
