  1. I just looked at game changer. That is impressive one strikeout in 121 plate appearances. With his speed and ability to put the ball in play you would think colleges would be druelling over this kid. Congratulations to Layne he is a wonderful kid. Too bad he missed his jr year mercer could have been a contender.

  2. Mercer is a good team that has over achieved all year. They can't beat west and only start three seniors and two juniors they have been carried by Peavler all year. Even though he is the region player of the year(deservedly I might add). They had 6or8 errors last night. They are young and there true colors will show tonight. Garrard should be playing to their best potential tonight. Should be a good one if Yates is on. 6-4 Garrard.

  3. The big show starts Monday. Peavler (mercer) selected as 12th region player of the year. I still think west jessamine is the team to beat. I'm a little disappointed in garrard county although they are a dangerous team and should come out of the bottom half of the bracket. Should be an epic battle between west and southwestern. Congrats to Peavler. Who do you think wins this one?

  4. Enough about the teams. Hands down the best non pitcher ( I know it's all about pitching) in the region is the PEAVLER kid from Mercer. He missed last season to a knee injury after an all state all tournament sophomore year. Followed closely by Robbins of Boyle and Stamm from Danville. West Jess has several real studs I expect this region to make a serious run in the state. This could be the 3rd best region in the state.

  5. Without a doubt West Jessamine is the team to beat in the 12th. The Warriors should be 2nd but don't look past Garrard County they are very very good for a change and with a good run could easily take this region. They really don't have a superstar but are solid at every position. Mercer is way down but have a lot of young talent and really thin on pitchers.

  6. Found one.. Lex Cath played Bowling Green, Lafayette, Bryan Station, Boyle Co. All are in the state top 10. Sorry dude

    I think you loose "beechbumm"!! remember bowling green an boyle are also on mercers schedule. bryan station and central hardin may be a toss up! but Anderson county beats Lafayette any day. plus mercer has lex cath on there schedule'

    lex cath combined opponents record is 36-29

    mercer combined opponents record is 39-24

    you pulled a rabbit out of your hat with trinity and all of the out of state schools. I should have qualified my statement better. but I will have to admit that schedule is tougher.

  7. Compare there strength of schedule. I looked at the total win/loss record of every team on there schedule. Very interesting it explains a lot.

    Taylor=26-24

    Marion=16-33(11 of these are Boyle and lex cath they should be ashamed)

    Mercer=34-16 ( could be why they are 1-6)

    Boyle=26-25(ho hum)

    Lex cath=31-27(I thought they had a tough schedule. Guess not)

    Highlands=17-27 ( they should be ashamed)

    Simon Kenton=21-33(probably why they are undefeated)

    Bryan sta=28-25(I thought there schedule was tougher)

  8. This one goes to West Jess. It is no secret Mercer has to figure out how to stop the run. Devin Taylor could be the Best back they see all year. It should be a good challenge for the Titans. Although if the Titans can force a couple of turnovers all bets are off. if West Jess finds themselves having to put the ball in the air it would be kind of dangerous. I don't know who leeds the state in interceptions but i think Mercer has 9 in just two games. Against teams that aren't really known to throw the ball much.

  9. I think they have a good shot against Boyle @ Harrodsburg.Not so sure about Lex Cath in Lexington.There is a good chance the Titans could finish the regular season 9-1 or 8-2.

    Only time will tell...:thumb:

    Peavler did have a heck of a game. One TD reception. Two interceptions that both resulted in touchdowns a few plays later. He also had several key tackles. A few of them where he was isolated one on one or fighting thru a block. Well deserved MVP. Not to mention he missed most of the third quarter with cramps. Drew Davis and Chris Goodman both had good games as well.

    Mercer beating Boyle and Lex Cath that might be the funniest thing i have ever heard on here. They have a chance agains Lex Cath. To me Boyle is underrated and Lex Cath is highly overrated. Boyle wins that district hands down.

    Mercer may end up with a 6-5 season if they are lucky.

  10. i just need some help. how or who assigns or decides how many stars to assign to a recruit? how political is this ranking system? what is the diiference between a 5 star player and a 4 star player? how are they recognized? is it there performance at a camp? or is it the numbers they put up on the field?

    example:Reese Ryan (senior QB @ lex cath) a guy at work contends that he is a 4star quarterback. i say he could be someday. but i contend that he hasn't proven he can do much on the field yet. i think if he is a 4 star he is highly overrated. but i need to know more about the scoring system. i'm not even sure he is the best QB in lexington. from what i have seen the robbins kid from Boyle co. is just a sophmore and is better than him already.

    any help would be appreciatted!!

  11. A good season for Mercer County would be if they beat Boyle County.

    I don't expect to see Robins on offense this season but you never know.

    Boyle could have the worst team they've had in ten years and Mercer can't beat them. not this year anyway. if they even had a chance thay would find a way to give Boyle the game. just like they did catholic last year. granted catholic was a much better team but Mercer was ahead at the beginning of the forth quarter.

  12. did anyone notice there is not even 1 kid mentioned from our state runner up mercer county.what do they need to do to get some respect?

    i realize there are alot of great players in the state but they are the only team in the final 4 that is not represented. they have also been to 3 straight state tournaments not to mention have advanced to the final game two of the last three years. that is pretty good for a small school.
