  1. Being a CC fan I have to throw out a name. We've played Cooper twice and both times their center fielder Carr has flat out crushed the ball. Just this past Saturday he hit two homeruns (one to straight away center field) and he also doubled. Kid has got a cannon for an arm to. I talked to some parents after the game and they said he's having a heck of a year. Glad to see Walsh starting to hit the ball again to. He had a great day at the plate against Cooper!

  2. Errors are part of the game. Believe me, we've had our share of them. This was just one game, but it was a big win for our program. That's great that he keeps stats for Baseball, Football, Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Volleyball, Swimming, Track, Wrestling, Darts, Syncronized Swimming, Chess, Cornhole, and whatever else. News flash....this isn't about you or the guy who keeps stats.. it's about giving props to the kids. Like i said...errors happen. You have to make plays to make up for those errors. It did'nt happen

  3. It is early, but I have been impressed with the young players from Holy Cross this year. They have a bright future ahead of them. Speaking of HC, I got a chance to talk to Tiberi after the Cooper game. I don't really know the kid , but he made a huge impression on me! I've never met a more humble kid. Wish nothing but the best for him.

  4. It was a great way to start the season for the Jags. Playing a team that has already had a couple games under their belts was a good measuring stick for the Jags to see where they are at this early in the season. The pitching was great, Hunter Dunn was UN-hitable....literally for the 2 innings he pitched and the rest of the pitchers, Doerman, Smith and Lawhorn finished the job. The defense was error free and the hitting was decent for the first game of the year and should only get better. Nick Carr absolutely crushed the ball as the lead off hitter and should make a great lead off hitter this year for the Jags. A couple injuries kept 2 of the starters from the field but when they get back they should make the defense even that much better. Should be a fun season.....if the weather lets them play anymore games this year

I think Cooper has what it takes to contend for the regional title. If they get back the 2 injured players and stay healthy the rest of the year I think it will come down to Conner and Cooper. What do you think?

  5. A solid win by the Jags. Junior pitcher Hunter Dunn started and faced 6 batters allowing no hits and struck out 3. Jason Doerman came in and pitched a solid game. Jake Lawhorn got the save. The Jags were led at the plate by Senior CF Nick Carr who went 2 for 3 with a single, triple, and a walk along with 2 stolen bases.
