Wonder what Adam Reed would do with the seeding issue if he was given the nod?
-
I wonder if Roger Newton is a fan of seeding
With his AD gig as well as being the head coach, he will ultimately decide.
-
Why would they have to rush and hire soon. A lot of capable hands down there toncarey then they the summer.
-
Augusta young kids aren't good by Augusta standard, they are good by statewide standard. Class for class right now, top 5-10 in state good. How that pans out long term nobody knows, but they have proved to be top 5-10 good at this point.
Through 15 pages of reading on this thread and this made me laugh the hardest. Take nothing away from the younger kids in junior high, but to put that up against standards statewide is crazy!
-
New year potentially comes with new problems. The hire needs to be RIGHT to keep that trend in the rear view mirror. They must and I am hopeful that they(hiring committee) get it right this time!
-
The assistant athletic director doesn't make hires.
Your right ultimately the principal does but the AD’s play a huge role in who is hired!
-
I have laughed at the back and forth and speculation on this thread. One thing for certain, Mason County is not chasing a coach in this process.
-
I think its a great honor for these kids and for their school system. However the district decides to honor their kids should be respected and not have shots thrown at them on a message board. Congrats to Robertson County and to Coach Kelsch!
-
Willie Feldhaus isn't coming back to Mason County, like another poster said, he has moved to Lexington. I believe Brian Kirk would have to apply for the position first before being named and I don't believe that has happened.

Did this transfer end up at GRC?

So, you know the details of why "the best man for the job" was "let go?"
And what did they get that was coming to them? Appears they had by all accounts a successful season without the "best man for the job."
Longevity my friend these days to young athletes is essential and that is what the guy at Robertson County provided for the program along with success, hence record and accomplishments speak for the program itself. Yes you had success last season with a All A title, but my comments are what they said, stay tuned to what you might get moving forward. Yes I do know what happened and its sad to say in todays athletics, its more about the parents and less about the kids as admins cave to mommies and daddies by allowing them to complain because Susie Q and Janie don't play enough! Facto Opie and Andy would tell you the same thing going back in time!
-
The best man for this job should have never been let go and he is in Robertson County now. I believe Bracken got what was coming to them, as the old saying goes, what goes around, comes around.
Time will definitely tell as to what happens with this program moving ahead.

A good young coach that might be on the radar would be current assistant coach at Scott High, Chris Stapleton. Just throwing that name out there.
-
Your right they did have great talent but that don't mean you will always win. A couple of years ago, Mason dominated the regular season and got knocked off by Harrison. Mason Co. Girls same last year. Great talent does not always net a Regional Championship.
Couldn't agree more, hard work will beat talent most everyday. Great message to instill in kids today! Especially when kids have been reared to have it easy when playing from the younger ages up and not being challenged in games.
-
Wonder if any assistant coaches at nearby schools or in the region would be interested in getting a head coaching gig?
-
I am hearing word that another transfer from the northern kentucky area will be suited up in the red and black at GRC. I believe she has played AAU ball for a current assistant coach on the GRC staff that coaches her on the AAU circuit.

Probably...But doesn't Scott return most/all their players also? And GRC was young this year so...Never know.
Get behind your lady royals and ENCOURAGE them to do their best and let the chips fall where they may!

I have read through 4 pages on this thread and it is really great to not read anything about expectations that lie on young kids that Campbell should have won this game because they won the region 2 years straight, they beat Mason by 15 or 16 earlier this season and that they should have beaten them by at least that much last night. Goes to show that in a 1 game setting and in the post season, anything can happen! I have read so much on the girls thread and particularly about Mason girls and what is wrong with them because they are squeaking by, a win is a win no matter what! Thanks for not paining me to read that crap in this thread!

"Smothering Defense" from Scott is questionable if you are looking at their game vs. Nicholas... They won 70-39 where as Mason won 66-12 in the regular season. I don't mean to negate they way Scott plays, but, given both score I'm sure both teams would "smother" Nicholas.
My sentiments exactly!

Augusta moves on to semifinals! The story book careers of these young men from Atown continues!
-
Sounds like a tough 8th region.
-
I am going with GRC by 4 this semifinal matchup.

Technically, this is obviously true. But I have a funny suspicion that there are those in Royal land that, winning in this fashion, is not sitting well at all.
Those are those folks that are used to blow out city when these players were coming through the ranks and grades leading to the present. Its not always that easy but they find a way to win. Thats all that matters and especially at tournament time.
Those that feel differently should be glad they are still alive and playing. There are far worse things going on in this crazy world that we live in than setting back speculating what is wrong with these young ladies not blowing out their opponents at tournament time. Get a grip!
