  1. I heard about that on their Facebook page. They hit it on a $100 slot machine in the high limit area. I'm really looking forward to visitiing (often). Love that it is non-smoking!

Quick question for you, RedlegJ - Do they have any lower Blackjsck tables there? By that, I man lower in height, not money. Problem I have at the casino is that almost all the tables games are too high for me. Another big hassle I ran into in Vegas was chairs that were bolted to a plate in front of the machine, such that they couldn't be moved. I think they were mostly on certain video poker machines.

BF, I'll check that out for you tomorrow and get back to you on that.

  2. To clear a few things up. I was there for 8 hours today. I will be there for 50 hours every week haha. I understand that a lot of people feel uncomfortable outside of their setting, but there is really nothing to worry about IMO. I asked if I could conceal carry while and work and the answer was no. You may not bring a concealed weapon into the casino. There are security guards watching all over the garages and all of the parking areas. If your worried about getting mugged walking out with a big load of cash, then you simply ask security to escort you to your car and they will free of charge without a gripe. Pretty simple. As for the table minimums, they will go down. Craps table was $15 all day long today. It will continue to go down, but you may never see a $10 dollar table. It's opening week, why not press the limits. 90% of the people are new, bear with them. Kinks will get worked out and dealers will get better. It's a new business and new businesses take time to improve. This casino is a great thing for the city, and it should be enjoyable to all. Parking is no issue at all. Are you going to the casino and planning on not gambling or eating or anything during the day M-F? If so, then you will have to pay for parking. The reason they do this is to keep businessmen in the city from coming here and parking for work for free. Makes total sense and I think it's a good move. As far as the hotel, they are aloud to break ground to build a hotel in two years. This was a stipulation to build the casino. They are working with many other hotels downtown which all have running shuttles to and from 24 hours a day. They will also comp you at these hotels. Any other questions, please feel free to ask. It is an excellently run company and they truly care about their employees and guests. The slot machines will also have good payouts and I can promise you that. Just today while I was there, someone won a 32,000 jackpot. Go in with an open attitude and mind and realize mistakes will be made, but this is a great thing for the city and it will only go up from here.

  3. If I could give any advice that mattered, it'd be to take her with you, and I know that there is a place in Lex (can't recall the name off the top of my head) where you can pay for ammo and try the weapon in their range before purchasing. It'll be tough to get a read on what is best without letting her try. My method stunk, because I just bought the darn pistols first then took her to the range with me and now I have 2 that I'm not in love with but have strategically placed in vehicles and nooks and crannies about my dwelling.

Bud's Gun shop. One of the best gun stores in the country.

  4. Parents got me some new brakes and rotors put on my car. Girlfriend got me a 3 night stay in Vegas at Planet Hollywood. (which I used last weekend) Also, I treated myself to some presents from myself from my Vegas winnings. Bought myself a nice Glock 23 40 cal. handgun and also a lower receiver for an AR 15. Made out like a bandit.

  5. I'll say this, it's hard for me to judge your story based on one side of the story. Second I'm not a small town cop.

What do you want me to confirm? I don't live in Lexington, I can confirm that.

And for the record 1950 was 11 years before my mother was born, but nice try. And yes I'll give the benefit of the doubt to people I know instead of 2 anonymous faces from a message board. I'll start to ask friends who went to UK, all within 10 years and see what there thoughts were on UKPD. Fortunately I don't have to work for a college PD and have to put up with pompous drunk college kids.

But, wouldn't it be fair to say that you're bias yourself?

At least you know your position. I could not handle college kids either. I don't think I could be a regular cop either though. I would say that I am partially biased to Uk police, not all university police. I am not sure if you could consider it bias though if it is a fact. Look at your location under your name handle. It says it all about being a troll. I think you are just trying to get people rowdy.

  6. Wow. Rocket, I understand the fact that you are a homer in this instance and you feel as if you should have more credibility than the average college student. Granted, I know you didn't say that, but that is the vibe I am getting so don't put a  face and ask me where you stated that. It is obvious. I have to back up BM in this instance. For you to have never seen any of this, where are you getting your credibility from? I have total respect for the law and know that without the law, our nation would be ruined and in shambles. On the other hand, I have lived it. I am sure you lived it too in 1950, but times are different. I could cite many examples of how I have been mistreated by the cops of Lexington. Then why aren't all of these cops suspended you may ask??? The answer is because all kids don't carry video cameras and use them when they should be. I am going to cite just a couple of examples and you tell me where I was in the wrong. I very much could have been in the wrong, but I just need some reassurance to settle my mind.

    A) Myself, two of my roommates, and 2 neighbors were sitting outside watching TV as Bruce hit the walk off home run a few years back to clinch the central. It was the middle of the week. (I do not recall which day) Three police officers show up during the game and tell us they have received a complaint from our neighbors for excessive noise. A few people were drinking (some 21 and some not) and the police obviously started to get on our case immediately about the 4 empty beer cans on the table we were sitting around. When asked who called in the noise complaint, they simply said they could not tell us. Jokingly, I stated that it must have been our next door neighbors and pointed to the house. (Two of the neighbors were with us on the porch) The officer proceeded to laugh and say "how did you know, they call us weekly on you guys." At this point we all started laughing knowing that they are there for zero reason at all and showed up on a whim. They then asked for everyone's ID. Reluctant to give up their ID's as most college kids are, no one did anything. They then proceeded with the hilarious threats you guys (yes, I am generalizing "you guys" as all cops) use to get people to do something. Myself and one neighbor decided to give them our ID's. I was not drinking and I got a ticket for minor in possession of alcohol. I had zero drinks. Everyone who gave up their ID's got a ticket. In the middle of the week. For doing nothing wrong. When asked about the possession charge he aggressively told my neighbor "If you don't shut the F*** up, your A** is going to be paying a bond as well. Hilarious. How am I supposed to stop my legal roommates from drinking beer? Can I not sit with them in the presence of alcohol? Long story short, I got a fairly big fine, had to go to court, and work 20 hours at goodwill that could have been spent studying or doing something to better myself.

B)While playing a friendly game of Mario Kart on a Friday night while pregaming, a group of officers kindly present themselves at our door. They knock and I show up at the door and ask them if I can help them with something. They give us the run around about why they are there and ask to come in. I refuse and sit back down to start playing my game that was rudely interrupted by the Lexington authority. The officer then proceeds to walk inside the house and ask who lived there. Stunned, no one owns up to it. We all get tickets for alcohol and cited again. When asked questions about his authority, he answered with "because I asked you." If you can't give a better reason to search the house than "because I asked you," then you are clearly there for no reason. He violated all of our rights by walking into MY HOUSE. No alcohol was in plain site, unless you count a red solo cup as alcohol which Lexington police officers do.

*** If undercover police officers want to roll around Keeneland while people are pregaming before the races and ask for ID's, thats perfect. They are doing nothing wrong and were simply doing their job. You were drinking underage before the races doing something completely illegal. Tough. I understand that. It is the way they go about it in Lexington, so don't try to rationalize with us because your some small town cop. Ask anyone who has lived in the college area of Lexington and they will agree. You simply do not understand because you have never lived it. Admit that to me please. You are going off what you and some of your colleagues have seen. I could go on for days with stories like these. It happens a lot! When students start to realize the camera is a good idea, run-ins like these will start to decrease. I could almost bet that they will slow down now because of this kid. As much as you hate to believe, some people know their rights and will not be walked all over by ****** like Lexington Police. Anyone who has lived in Lexington in college areas (ie. State Street, University Ave, Waller Ave. ect. ) care to confirm?

  7. LOL

If Rash and the BW administration really wanted to make a principled stand, they would forfeit tonight's game. This is not simply a matter of teenage football players being caught drinking. The possibility that the alcohol was supplied by a BW football parent looms large. If I am the principal of BW, I get all the parties in my office and the whole truth on the table before this game is played. If the parent in question did not supply the alcohol, I go ahead and play the game. If I don't feel like I'm getting the whole truth, I forfeit the game. If the BW parent supplied the alcohol I forfeit the game.

The integrity of the institution is on the line here. It has already been harmed by one football alumni that hailed the drug and alcohol culture as promoting team building.

  8. Total BULL IMO, I would hope this father explained to his son the ramifications of drinking on thier property before this incident happened. I know I have explained this type of situation to my daughter and I think she is fully understanding of what she should do. That being said when my daughter has friends over and are gathering on the deck I step out there ramdonly to make sure there is no "fun business". Plus I have no problem letting them know that I better not see any alcohol.

Understand what you are saying, but still think the kid could have been thrown under a bit. Even if the father explained this to his kid, which he should have, how much would that deter him from his actions? A high school party is a big snowball and when people hear there is alcohol, more and more people start to show up. On a side not, still think Richmond needs to be held accountable as his story just doesn't make sense. As well as his kid. Even if it was not the kid's fault, he still put his teammates, family, and himself in a bad situation and should pay the consequences.

  9. This is a terrible way to look at the situation. Obviuosly, you would not have punished them at all. Or maybe just taken away their beer for a week. I hope you do not procreate. It's parents that think like you that cause a lot of the problems. You say you don't condone the actions of these kids, but everything else in your post says you do. By saying "give these kids some slack, it's not the end of the world" you are showing your immaturely and disdain for rules and laws. PLEASE do not reproduce.

Your probably correct. I should not reproduce because I believe that kid's are going to be kid's. In what part of this did I say I would let my kid's have friends over to drink? You are totally irrational. By me stating what I stated, I was simply referring to that fact that no matter what happens they are going to continue drinking. It's life bud. You can continue to be naive with your children and think they are not drinking and if they are act like the world is over. It is none of my business what you do. All I know is that I got caught drinking in high school and am going to graduate college and be successful. It's not the end of the world like you think it is. I am sure you probably assume your kid's dont smoke pot. Let me tell you about something else Mr. Lotto, kids smoke pot in high school. Want to know why? Because it is easier to get than alcohol and that's a fact. Does this make me a bad parent that I know these things because I have been there? I think not.

  10. Also, did anyone think maybe Richmond's son could have just been put in a tough spot? Had some of his friends over for a party and then all of the upper classmen show up with alcohol. Do you want to tell all these kids that they have to leave, or do you want to get along with these kids and have them think your cool? In my opinion, this kid may have been thrown under the bus a bit. He may have been the most drunk kid there, I have no idea.

  11. Kicking these kids off the football team or suspending them is really going to teach them a life lesson:confused: Kids will be kids. Kids will continue to drink. Football is not going to deter them from that. About half of our team in high school went out and drank Friday and Saturday night every weekend. I graduated in 2009, so times really aren't that different. I don't condone it, but give these kids some slack, its not the end of the world.
