That surprises me, it's the fasted growing spot in the country at all levels.
Participation at our school is growing by 20-25% per year.
Colleges are adding programs across the country making scholarship & participation opportunities more available.
The KHSAA & KY HS need to get on board.
-
There are 32 high school lacrosse teams in the State of Kentucky.
The KHSAA currently does not sanction lacrosse so it is technically not recognized as a "varsity" sport by KHSAA.
(12)teams compete for a championship in the Louisville Area League
(20)teams compete for a championship in the KLA league
Does your school support your team?
If so how?
Do they provide/pay for coaches? field time? practice time? funding? equipment? Uniforms?
Just curious- some schools seem to support the lax program as they would any other sports program ...others not so much.
Where does your school stand?

Helmet, stick, gloves & pads $500 average per kid
Top of the line stuff $1,000+

Covington Catholic (3 seed)plays at Bryan Station (2 seed) Tuesday May 5th at 7:45pm in the first round of the KY2 North1 district play.
NKY warriors are the 1 seed seed and will play the winner of Dixie(4 seed) vs Scott Co (5 seed)

Matt Otto will be a great heat coach at some point in his career.
I just don't think he will stay at CCH long enough to get the job there.
-
Here's my 2 pennies on the matter.
If Ruthsatz would make the move to X, I do not see any current players jumping ship with him.
Just don't see it, there is more to CCH than sports. Incoming kids maybe, as they would not necessarily have any ties to CCH. I also agree with Clyde: It is a burden for the majority of CCH parents to fund CCH's tuition can't see many wanting to add the additional expense to go to X.
I think the assumption that Joe Fredrick would go with SR is a big stretch.
Consider This:
What if CCH joins the GCL?
CCH Youth football program has already dumped NKY foot & is playing in the GCL.
Would SR get the desired exposure everyone speaks of?
Would that allow CCH to draw in more Cincinnati kids?
Would that help to elevate the CCH program to Dynasty status in NKY?

I personally don't think Cov.Cath is playing their best basketball.
Really?
They just ran through one of the toughest districts & regions in the state without a loss.
They are headed back to the state tournament.
Most teams wish they could play that bad.
The colonels will handle the camels and move on.
-
CovCath by 8, they seem to step it up for the competition.
Plans may get derailed however, if Schuh and Theobald can't stay out of foul trouble.
-
Officiating was awful.
Believe it, bad calls for both teams the whole game
-
Congratulations to Bo!
He's had a High School career most kids an only dream about.
Consider this:
In the 3 years he's played varsity basketball for CovCath they are 84-14 with a State Championship plus whatever is to come this year.
-
My impression of the team is they do not look like they are having fun playing.
Would you be having fun if you were getting a beat down on the court?
-
CovCath took over in the second half after a sluggish start.
It's always nice to beat the guys down the street
-
Cov Cath will be ready to play at home tonight.
According to my calculations this is only the 8th home game for the Colonels and the first since January 20th. I expect the crazies to be in high gear supporting their boys at home.
Colonels will play well in front of the home crowd CCH by 15+

Hey I get it, I understand why the all A was created, for most of the teams it's a great event to compete in. My only thought is that NCC plays like a bigger school, they have better players, a better program and they do it year in - year out. Do they really gain anything by playing the first few rounds where they blow teams out by incredible margins. Many games the starters hardly play because of the competition. Maybe it doesn't hurt them in the long run ...maybe it does...IDK
All I know is for a couple weeks in Jan-Feb they destroy a lot of teams in the all A and then struggle in the regionals....maybe no correlation.
-
CVH may have taken some playing time from someone, but as a result do you think he helped to elevate the play of the team/players?
Did he help them win some games?
My guess is players liked playing with him unfortunately someone gets the short straw because of it.
-
Why does NCC continue to play in the all A Tournament?
Sure winning the all A is nice, but is it keeping them from the ultimate prize?
They just played what, 5-6 games, against teams that their JV team could handle.... some of them the freshman team could handle.
Shouldn't they be playing against teams that would actually challenge them?
They will continue to struggle getting out of the 9th region if they don't step up their schedule.

CVH only attended Blessed Sacrament
Played for Villa Varsity as an 8th grader while attending BSS

Kind of glad I went to the game because no coverage on game in paper.
This is the norm in NKY, it's sad that the papers have down sized to the point that they barely cover HS sports.
-
I do recall Holmes missing a lot of good, easy shots though. QUOTE]
To be fair, Cov Cath also missed a lot of layups & chip shots.
This has become the nature of the CCH vs Holmes games, both teams defending the rim.
Kids adjust their shots, misses happen.
As I recall both teams shot very poor.
-
I didn't see one student.
MONDAY NIGHT is IBL NIGHT
Most students were in CCH's gym
-
Point Guards
$5 James Bolden- Holmes
Shooting Guards
$3 Ethan Snapp- Newport
Small Forwards
$1 Spencer Hemmerich- Conner
Power Forward
$4 Bo Schuh- Covcath
Centers
$2 Kam Covington- Newport
Very interesting game.

Agree with paNDA, Holmes' coach will lose his head in this game .....
He couldn't keep it together as an assistant the last couple of years, now he's in charge.
Coaching will cost the dogs in this one....CCH by 10+
-
A lack luster defense for CCH had them trailing by 2 at the half.
Credit Conner, they were draining the open 3's and not backing down.
An inspired CovCath team came out and had a 24-6 third quarter to put the game away.
-
From what I heard about Crable, he will not take any crap from parents, and they will get more than an ear full as well in response.
hhmmm....Ssounds very familiar to a basketball coach I know that is currently at CCH.....

Cov Cath beat Bryan Station 21-0 & NKY Warriors beat Scott Co 17-3 in the first round of district play to set up district final Friday at Cov Cath between the Colonels & the Warriors.
What's going on in the other districts?
