Where will the regional tournament be held this year?

He's a big time player, that's for sure. Regardless of Lexington Catholic's size, he pulled down 31 rebounds against them. Anyone who can get 31 rebounds vs LexCath is worthy of a high D1 offer. I personally hope Calipari finds a reason to offer him. But right now I personally see Davis going to a mid-level SEC school.

During this game, Rylan Rowe surpassed the 1000 point mark for his career. The players worked really hard to get to this point, but just fell short. Good year for the Flyers.

Oh, don't misunderstand me. Wayne did what it took to win the game. I saw them play in the state tournament last year and was I mpressed. Woods is one of the best coaches in the state.

But I would think if Knott didn't have their 3 best players in the game during the final minutes it would definitely have to had an impact on enabling Wayne to win this game. And as was mentioned by another poster who was at the game, Knott chicken-wings and charges often and Wayne is good at flopping. I wasn't at the game so I don't know. It's a difficult call for an official to make.

I have seen Knott play a few times this year and I agree that they are very aggressive at taking the ball to the basket. A team that works hard on defense and is knowledgable about how to take a charge would give them problems, as obviously Wayne did.

As a person who played for Coach Woods, I know for a fact that Wayne does not flop. We are taught at a young age how to take charges. Plus we know that call can change a game and we gladly give up our body for the team.

Well, now I see how Wayne made such a comeback behind their press effort. They were playing Knott's subs. I think if these two teams met again it would be a different story, but B.B would have to make better adjustments to how the officiating are calling the game. I just don't see how that many charges could be called in a game, but evidently KCC must have been trying to bull their way to the basket. Did Wayne get called for any blocking fouls??

They were legit charges. Wayne was called for blocking a couple of times.

Pre season #5...way too high...team won 8 games last year. Sitting at 10-9 with 5 of those wins against Woodford (2), Frankfort (2) and Western Hills. Not at all trying to bash FC but just because kids return doesn't necessarily mean succes.

Semantics, we won 9 games, most down the stretch. People saw us this summer when we beat west jessamine (twice), Bryan station, north Oldham, Madison southern, Madison central, Lexington catholic, Pulaski county, breathitt county, and Dunbar. We lost to Scott county by 10, in a game we were winning with three minutes to go. We also lost to Lafayette. 10-2 this summer, with some good wins. That is why some had us high on their list. Have we underperformed? Yes. Will we get there? Tommy Johnson will make sure they give their best to get there. We have still not played our best games yet.

Who was giving the Flyers love? I never saw it, nor did I read it. We have been predicted to be 8th or lower all year. People called us their darkhorse, but no one ever favored us.

I am glad they ranked us at 7, makes for a better story at the end of the year. Look out.

Okay, really.?! They played against freshman and sophomores. Of course he would look good. Is he a great player?, yes. However, if this game is the only one you have seen, you can not make a very good assessment.

So the fact that a wide open three from his best three point shooter at the buzzer against PRP in '89 means Woods isn't as good a coach as Wright? It takes some luck to win a State Championship.

Actually it was a wide open jumpshot from the elbow. Either way. As a player for Coach Woods, I know what he has accomlished in the middle of nowhere is amazing. We did it legitimately. We went to state back-to-back our junior and senior years. Every graduating class has at least made it to the state tournament once since Coach Woods has been there.

Rodney Woods in a one and done is just dangerous. Still proving why he's one of the best coaches in the state.

Where will the regional tournament be held?

Mr. Football is the best football player in the state. No offense to Timmons, but when he was a Freshman he was losing to teams like Pendleton County. James Quick was catching touchdowns in the state finals and winning state in the 200. There is no comparison between these players. Does Timmons have his choice of SEC offers?? Why would you try to compare these players? It is unfair to Timmons.

To answer your first question, Timmons has USC (Cal) looking at him, Ohio State, oh and a couple of SEC teams. Such as Bama, Arkansas, UK, as well as some other teams.

FC has no control over their class designation.

I know Quick is good and has more choices, but connections will play a major role in both cases.

I am looking forward to seeing Southwestern play this year. A second year under Wright, they should be good.

Everything is subject to change at Franklin County. Certain people well actually one person in this town has told 5 different people that have applied for the job that "I'll do anything it takes to get you the job." Everything is so political it makes me sick. Instead of looking out for you and your middle school kid how about we do whats right for the school and the kids who are here. Let the administration and athletic director do their job, that's what they get paid to do.

Johnson was an assistant under Chalk, now is an assistant at Lafayette. Barton is the current assistant/interim. Barton has taken over after Chalk left and has been doing a terrific job with these kids.

From what I have heard so far 21 applicants, not sure how many have been or will be interviewed. Tommy Johnson and Nick Barton have interviewed, not sure who else has been yet.

I heard Wes Scarberry from Model has applied as well. I think Coach Barton will be a great pick and a great coach.
