  1. I'm not sure what scrimmage you watched or who gave you this info, but Bellevue scored at least 6 touchdowns before I left after about an hour of scrimmage. Holy Cross is the team that did absolutely nothing. As I posted in another thread:

I went to the scrimmage last night and was very impressed by the coaching staff of Bellevue. Johnny Poynter has been doing is great job with a team that looked really bad since Dave Eckstein stopped coaching. However, I was definitely not impressed by the coaching staff of Holy Cross. I would expect a lot more out of a team with so much more talent and coached by a former NFL player in Bruce Kozerski. Holy Cross looked terrible, they couldn't move the football, and couldn't tackle at all. Bellevue on the other hand had no issues with either aspect. Bellevue was much smaller on the line on both sides of the ball, yet were blowing plays up in the backfield on defense and creating huge holes on offense. Bruce, I think you have work to do. Maybe a little more coaching and a little less screaming and they might listen.

  3. I think Frankfort has the edge. However, Bellevue could surprise people. Last year Bellevue had the game won and lost it in the 4th. I think they learn from that mistake this year. I say Bellevue by 6.

Will Frankfort ever update their facilities? I was down there a couple years ago and it was terrible. The visitor stands couldn't even hold all the visiting fans. Just curious if anyone has any thoughts on their facility?

  4. I got a friend from the Bellevue/Dayton area and this is what he was able to supply me about the history:

Bellevue leads the series 87-42-3. The series began in 1926 with Bellevue winning 12-0. The teams played a second game that year and Dayton won that contest. In 2007 the game became known as “the battle for the paddle”in reference to Bellevue and Dayton’s location on the Ohio river. The winner receives a paddle inscribed with the results and keeps it until the next season’s game. Dayton won the first battle 35-8. Bellevue has won the last four. In terms of games played, no two high school teams in the history of Kentucky football have played as many games against each other than Bellevue vs Dayton. Friday night, October 19, 2012 will be the 133rd game.

Based on history...I go with Bellevue by 13

  5. Nelson County has more talent than they've ever had, it just so happens to be on the offensive side of the ball. No Defense. I gotta give the edge to Bardstown 56-42

Really think they have more talent than the 1996 State Champions?

I agree that this is the best team they have had in years, but not the most talent ever.

    NC wins by 3 scores.

  6. Would have been, but he had some "other" issues to deal with.

Actually Nate was not returning. He spent his one season at Bellevue and was looking to try and become an assistant at the collegiate level. Besides that, the coach that hired Nate was no longer with the school.

  7. Find an offense that runs more than 3 plays would be where I would start. Great junior qb for next year. He is smart and athletic. The big issue is the coaching. Coach Croley in his second year, but had all of his assistants resign at the end of the season. Hard to coach with only one guy...

  8. What a way to go out. However, I know that the Tigers and Tiger Fans are proud. What a turn around from the cluster it was last year. Frankfort, mad props on your comeback. Any team down that much in the 4th and still finding a way to climb back and win is deserving of moving on. Great job Pnathers.

  9. This has been brought up before, do you know what occurred?

I am not too sure. I follow most Northen Kentucky schools, but not too extreme with Lloyd. I have a friend who played there about 7 or 8 years ago and he tries to stay in the loop. He told me about the suspension, but didn't have any details.

  10. Last time I was at Frankfort, the visitors stands were so small the visiting school had those plus some on the home side. Not to mention the stands looked as though they could cave in at any point. I would not say this is one of the worst I have ever, but it is not very nice. Just needs a little updating, way less than Dayton's does.
