How is Lexington catholic ranked and Dixie Heights isn't? Didn't they beat them?

  2. He has to be able to adapt to the athletes that he has. Dixie hasn't had the kids in recent years to run smash mouth football, outside of this past season.

They would have benefited going under last year instead of the spread, and even the year before. You cannot run a spread offense when you only have 1 or 2 recievers. I hate the fact that there was "well that's just what we do" mentality. You adapt to your players strengths.

  3. Dixie survives...best way to describe the game. Conner is a scrappy bunch and Huff is one tough kid. Really like his game. He and Barker form a nice 1-2 combo.

Barker's last shot hit off the backboard, hit the front rim and then bounced out.

After seeing Dixie tonight, this region is wide open.

I wouldn't go that far. In the first game last year they only beat conner by 3 or so. They played hard defensively and once they come together on offensive they will be scary.

  4. Does anyone know if he has been inside a Dixie Classroom since this incident? And same for the other students involved?
He has not. One of the kids who came out and told the truth that he was involved, along with zeke and the other mentioned, recieved in school suspension for telling the truth. As for the other not named zeke, his first day back in the classroom was today.
  5. How did those kids become good football players?? Let me answer that for you. They were developed into good players.. Most were not born that way.. I think Dale might have a little to do with that..

You don't know very much about athletics then. You can't teach someone to be quick, fast, and strong and have a killer mentality. You either have it or you don't.

  6. I disagree. Were you at the game? curious - because what I saw was a lifeless - none emotional coaching staff. Speaking defensively only there were really NO major adjustments made defensively until towards the end. Hell with sitting back and let someone pound it down your throat - running the same 2 - 3 plays over and over again. Try something ya know? Blitz your linebackers, move a safety down in the box, start playing the gaps, bring more than they can block! Or if the players in there are not giving a 100% then put someone in the game who will. But don't sit there and make zero adjustments, not get the kids fired up and coached up, and last but not least how about calling a time-out to break another teams momentum once in a while. IMO it's combined effort from both the coaching staff and players - as with anything though - it ALL starts at the TOP! You can have all the talent in the world but if the coaches don't keep them motivated you are not going to win many games. Especially the close ones where the talent maybe equal.
Yes i was at the game and have attended many of their practices. These kids will simply not get fired up and have no heart. To me, it seems like a bunch of pre-madonnas who think they are better than they actually here. As a coaching staff you have to go from getting your kids prepared to trying to become a psychologist to figure out why there is not heart or no effort. One thing i do agree with you on is they need to institute the "don't try, don't play" rule. And everyone wants to sit here and say how great highlands coaching staff is. Come on guys, these kids are born and bred to play football at about the age of 5. When you have enough talent and as much tradition as they do, the kids have no room to fail or they WILL lose their spot. That makes it a whole lot easier than kids at other schools that have started since sophomore year and have the mentality like "What is he going to do? Not play me?" It might be better to go 5-5 with those kids than go 1-9 with the others, who knows. I also want to make it clear that I am not mocking Highlands coaching staff. They are the best of the best in NKY year in and year out. All I'm doing is making a point.
  7. I'm so tired of everyone bashing their coaching staff. In my years of watching high school football, you have to have the players to compete. I believe that coaching is about 20% of the game. So, if a team plays 10 games and they win 8 those 2 loses might be chaulked to coaching. I don't care if you put ludlows coaching staff on the 09' Highlands team they would still have won a state championship and probably would have lost to st.x. Coaches are the easiest to blame but the kids need to look at the man in the glass

  8. I was wondering where his name has been the past two weeks. My son had later told me he was out with a high ankle sprain. Today, he came to me and told me that he had gotten x-rays re done and they revealed a fracture in his fibula. That kid is a trooper he played with that through the cov cath game and even tried to play at highlands! Hats off to the kid and wish him the best of luck.

  9. Dixie has a bunch of Seniors this year for them to be good they should play them all so they have depth. They can't play their star QB both ways all year and expect to win every game.

He did not start last year. What makes you think this year will be any different?

  10. Tough question to ask imo. First of all its a Cardinal sin to divulge this type of info so easily from a Highlands fan. No big or real secret, you just may have to dig a little bit to get your answer. Secondly, anyone who tries to guess what Dales next move is will be more then likely wrong. He takes the obvious and makes it the total opposite. Well sometimes, maybe always, maybe I better not say anymore.......LOL, Get the picture now.

    Haha yes, understood.
