  1. I didn't say that. Clyde did! I have no idea who was considered and who wasn't. But JMO, it was a 2-horse race by the end. There were some other good players out there, but these two filtered to the top by the end of the year...IMO.

IMO there were a couple more but that's just my opinion and you were the one who said stats didn't matter when you play weak schedules and if Olivia was the only other one considered who were you talking about since she played a tough schedule

  2. I'm not upset that Leah won. She is an outstanding player IMO and we deserving of some recognition. BUT... Player of the year? I dont know.

    Voskuhl 17PPG FG:48% 3's:39% FT 75% Reb 6.7 Per game

    Schafer 11 PPG FG: 43% 3's: 28% FT 61% Reb 6.5 Per game

If you want to take scoring out of the mix then do so but take Leah away as well. What is she without her scoring? Just an avg. girls ball player thats tall. You cant take scoring out of the mix thats just silly! To me I think the voters got this one wrong but thats just my opinion. Nothing at all against Schafer at all very good kid from what I have been told.

And a girl from conner has the same if not better stats, but i guess its all about the coaches who vote. You rub my back ill rub yours.

  3. Voskuhl is a great scorer and I think a terrific player. But for this conversation, remove the fact that she is a outstanding scorer and tell me why she is player of the year. Scoring is only one part of the game. It gets all the ink, but still only one part of the game to people that really know the game. Novice basketball fans tend to look at scoring only. Basketball coaches look at a players entire resume. IMO, that why you see people unhappy with things like this. If you give up as many points as you get, you're not a great basketball player. I'm not saying that about Voskuhl at all, just an example.

So scoring rebounds and assists should be a factor? Then why don't you look up who's in the top of those. Hmmm very interesting, just saying.

  4. y

Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches (KABC). So to answer your question...coaches pick them...or in other words, the ones that know the game and it's players the best!

You have got to be kidding me. You need to get back to the real world if you think coaches from down state know who's good. If that's, true then the girl from ND would be in this list. What a shame.

  5. So are you saying you don't agree and Ms. Schaeffer is non-deserving?

You are right I don't agree. If you think Schaeffer was the best in the region your watching other games than everyone else. Every player is deserving, but only one this year from what I seen. As to coaches voting as usually its a popularity contest not who's the best.

  6. I said "yell like that", when referring to the other bball coaches I watched this year. And I didn't miss a HHS football game and I never saw Dale do any of that on the field. Is he successful???

And wow, you need to do a little research before you write. What region did SK win??? And yes, Boone has a couple nice wins, but also some bad losses. Equals average season. District was weak! Sorry. Dixie won their district too. Are they considered a good team?

Where did I say coaches shouldn't yell. But is that what you call that in that picture??? Yelling in practice and in the games is fine. But not like that. Not berating and belittleing a kid in front of hundreds. HHS coaches yell at my kid all the time, but never like that. Sorry you're wrong. I am by far the complete opposite of "everyone gets a trophy". If you read any of my posts anywhere, you could figure that out pretty quick. It's not about being overly sensitive when coaching. There is a line of when to stop. Something like above is not in line. I've coached AAU or competitive basketball for years..you think that's "everyone gets a trophy"? Absolutley not. The age I coached are freshman now. 4 of them were varsity starters this year, the others were all jv players that dressed varsity and two of them were 8th graders. Does that sound like we were an everybody gets a trophy team. Quite the opposite. You have no idea what you're talking about.

I also am a head coach of a high school sport and I can tell you that what she is doing in that picture is the exact opposite of what the KHSAA trains their coaches in their extensive training classes.

Dixie cut down the nets in their district too.

Idiotic comments like coaches shouldn't yell. I said they shouldn't yell like that...what is posted above. That's out of control...period. She has lost it in that picture. Yelling is fine. Getting in someone's tailend is fine...in the right setting. Have no problem with it at all. Losing your composure when things don't go your way is not good.

    Have you ever coached girls???

And are you EVER going to answer my questions?

Military for adults is the same as high school basketball for girls...interesting!!!

talk about a district thats weak look at your own what a joke so just curl up in your blue H blanket and dream to have a coach like boone not saying its right but she does win and get kids in college

what a shame jordan scott gets crapped on again one of the best in the ninth region snub just look at the stats in cincinnati preps hell shes in the top in the tri state area and snub this is a joke

  8. If this game were at WV i'd pick the Lady Bearcats, but at highlands, who knows. If you watched the NCC vs WV game you gotta believe Kiernan would not have gotten in foul trouble if she were playing in the 9th Region. Different regions, different officiating styles. IMHO This game could go either way.

kiernan does play in the 9th region

  9. It was not the schedule they played, it was not the years of coaching, it really is quite simple. It's just Conner has hit a little rough patch in their season, and most teams even good teams go through stretches of not playing that well. I think most people in NKY would agree Conner is a really good shooting team, but just the last few games they have been missing shots they have made all year and not talking about contested shots. It happens, but at least it is happening now and didn't start during district tournament time.

One thing is for sure though, it should be a great district tournament to watch.

thank you they also tried something different on defense and the 20 to 4 foul ratio in the second half didnt help

  10. I can take it! I'm a big boy! But I won't respond on my own sport over there. So I'll have to just take it! Or figure out a way to go unnoticed!

But remember, high school coaches are there to make the kids better people and

prepare them the best they can for the future. I wish more coaches looked at it this

way. We'll put in the hard work, you can believe that! Hopefully it translates into

wins for the girls. But if it doesn't, I'm confident they will walk away learning

something and how to deal with what life hands you. They will be extremely

challanged and always know where they stand. And they won't get away with using

    ANY excuses!

wait till you lose 2 or three in a row and watch what happens from the cakes ha ha
