  1. Truly bad news for the Rock faithful and for Clark. We wish him nothing but the best and it has been a joy watching him the last 3 years. We will see if the rest of the team can rise to occasion and finish out the season as champs. I can think of nothing that would make Clark prouder !!

  2. Congratulations to Rock. I too was surprised by Russell Countys lack of a running game. I had been led to believe otherwise. Fun game to watch . Just shows you can totally dominate a game and its possible to hand it away with turnovers. Russell was close to winning although they were probably outgained 4 to 1. I thought BB Bradley game Rock a tremendous lift on both sides of the ball when turnovers had them beat down mentally. Hopefully Rowe will be able to return for the Knox Central game they are certainly going to need him to have a legitimate shot. Russell has lots of younger players and is just going to get better and better. The lakers just ran into a mismatch on the line of scrimmage!

  3. That Rockcastle kid they were talking about would be John Saylor. He is of to a real good start with .596 average ( 31-52) and 13 home runs in their first 15 games. Looks like rains outs will hamper his numbers more than the new bats , but he is a fine hitter none the less. John hadn't played any summer baseball due to football for about 5 years until he played with Morse Mustangs 18u. last summer. Playing year around for the first time really seems to have picked up his game .

  4. I have been going to lady rocket games for several years. Angie Lawrence was a very good high school player at Rock, much as J. Abney, T. Rowe, Heather, Whitey, M. Saylor or Alexander were. Sarah Rowe was perhaps a notch up and helped our program stay at a high level.

Sara Hammond was a once in a lifetime player and the coaches did a tremendous job with what they were blessed with. She allowed the Rock to knock on the door in 2010 and break it in in 2011. The hard part for coach Noble will be keeping an inexperienced program in the top 3-4 teams in the 12th region. If anyone can it wil be Coach Noble, because of her Rockcastle is a program and not a team.

  5. Rock could have won by 30+ if they left they wanted to. If Madison Central, Scott County and Bryan Station are the better teams in 11th region then Rockets will have a cake walk to open up the Sweet 16. Sarah Hammonds looked like a woman playing with little girls and could score any time she felt like it. If she wasn't unselfish she could have scored every time she touched it. E-town better come to play or that game will be over in the first half just like Madison Central and Bryan Station. I hate to say it this early but state championship is the Rockets to lose at this point. I just can't see anybody playing with them.
