  1. I am pretty sure your original post insinuates that he came in and turned a 2-8 team to what it was this year. He was in charge in 2009, just making sure facts are straight Watusi. You of all people should understand that. Nobody said they didn't have a good year but their schedule was soft (don't care how long they have been playing).. You all put waaaay too much stock in the fact that the program is young, there have always been decent athletes in Walton and it was about time they added football. Wouldn't have mattered who the head coach was out there, they would have been successful with the talent that was coming up.

The coach mattered on the 7th. and 8th. grade level this year. Ton's of talent but the wrong leader through half of the season. It wasn't until they got rid of said leader and brought in Coach McMillan that the team began to win. Talent doesn't do everything as you could see with Walton's middles school team this year.

  2. Actually HHS's sound system is the same exact one use at Paul Brown Stadium. It's just the speakers are a little undersized and misplaced!!! Probably a good thing....

Come on now! I've been to 3 world's fairs and a couple of goat farms and I haven't heard anything like this one t-bird. PBS, ya'll must be crazy!

  3. I do have a question for those of you who have played football. Most of this has been devoted to spectators. What about teams? I know my boys have played against teams that spit, sucker punch, grab during pile ups. I am not talking trash talk, I am talking about physical cheap shots. Is this classless or is it football?
My heart says that this during play/on the field is classless but my head tells me that this has happened for so long, probably since football stareted that it's just a part of the game! Football is supposed to teach you how to deal with adversity, and that's adversity. The good teams deal with it and move on, the bad teams are the one's giving the business(usually) and can't deal with it. It's also a physical sport so alot of emotions run wild. I don't think that it will ever leave the game so it's the coaches job's to teach their kids how to deal with adversity and the one's that do teach that I think are the one's you'll find that are/will be successful. Just my thoughts
  4. John Schlarman? If there has been a more athletic lineman in nky i'd like to know who. Not saying there hasn't been, but I haven't seen one. What he did at UK was phenomenal, plus he had like 7 major knee surgery's in 4 years and missed 1 game. And knee surgery's weren't like they are now. He had some serious heart!

  5. On the first drive of the game on third down around mid-field, walton te dropped a wide open pass at the 18 yard line. That could've changed the game. Walton held then got held and punted. Frankfort scored and wv blocked the pat. Next series after a first down #47 for wv got loose and frankfort db caught him about the 15 and stripped the ball from behind. Frankfort goes down and scores on the last play of the quarter i think and goes for two. Up 14-0 After that it looked like to me(from the stands) that the walton boys gave up a little offensively. Not taking ANYTHING away from frankforts d who played steller and scored a td and also returned a punt but if walton does anything with those opportunities, we all at the game are probably watching a totally different game. Not to say they win but not a 49-7 game. Frankfort got some early breaks and capitalized. Walton also hadn't been in a game like that ever so they desperately needed to capatilize on every opportunity they got, and didn't. I played with Jeff Barth and Jason Sullivan at Highlands and talked to them after the game and they couldn't be prouder of their boys! Great season for the young bearcat program, and I assure you knowing these two guys and I also know one of the guys they are bringing on staff next year, we're going to be talking more and more about these bearcats in the future! Frankfort was impressive with their speed and their defense but I also watched walton at beechwood this year and I think beechwood has too much offense for this frankfort team. Would NOT however be completely surprised if they did beat beechwood but they got their hands full next week. I think beechwood has their hands full offensively though too. Congrats on this win and good luck next week. BTW don't change that stadium, we need to keep all of those around that we can!

  6. I think you can throw it all out in the playoffs. It's not the winning teams fault that they are not playing a suitable opponent, nor should they be penalized because of it. The next week may be the one week that they need to be sharp, and need to work on things or look at some things versus an opponent rather than their own teamates at practice. You sign up to play in the playoffs, it's a part of it.

  7. So, because you have kids at that school gives you the right to say whether or not a man is good at his job? Again, how do you know so much about being an AD? or a coach? We don't need some special msg, just some proof that you know what you're talking about! Cause this comment that follows shows that you don't. "I think they where 9-3 in football. Basketball still playin ok. Trust Me this guy is not right for this job. If he was that good Newport wouldn't have kicked him out " But you can correct me if you have the experience.

  8. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious...

Rumors like this with zero substance only hurt all the kids involved. I'm pretty sure Boone County already has a coach. Also, Holmes "weak" schedule was made 3 years ago following 4-6 and 3-8 seasons including a loss Lloyd in 2008 and a loss to Scott in 2007. How about we give the kids at Holmes some credit for working hard and turning the program around? Those kids face many daily challenges beyond football that kids from other towns would be crushed by, but they fight through and still had time to turn a losing football program into a winning program. How about we begin cheering the doer rather than kicking them when they are down. Those kids have accomplished a lot!

    AGREED!!
