LCA's size bothered Lincoln County the entire game. Coach Valentine has been the right fit for LCA. Great ball coach. I would watch out 11th region...the Eagles are for real.

A great career. He is one of the all time best and basketball isn't even his best sport. Best of luck to him!
He did earn a KY All-star tryout so he may have a chance to suit up against the IN boys. His 43 points versus Madison Southern was pretty impressive. He won 3 out of 4 districts while at WC.

Finals of the Woodford County Invitational at 7:15pm Sunday.

Boggess leads the Jackets with 38. One point shy of 1,000. Fucci hits a 3 in the 4th to send it to overtime. Exciting game to watch.
-
Final from the Woodford County Invitational. Station just hung around with great shooting from J-town early. They cooled off in the 2nd half and Stations athleticism outlasted them in the 4th quarter.
-
Congrats to Wayne County. Their shooting percentages will be put to the test with a very good defensive Madison Central team.
-
Big key is FHS lost their starting point guard to injury several weeks ago.
Washington?

Haha...I'm a home grown Ky boy, I completely understand where you're coming from and understand Louisville isn't anywhere close to UKs prestige. I'm just interested in UK getting 3/4-year guys that will stabilize the transition from year to year. That's all I'm saying.
To be honest I'm just kinda frustrated with this years UK team. I just thought a guy like Hawkins would be refreshing (I would take another MKG or Davis instead of course).
Don't you think that would be a need? Especially with this years chance of maybe not even making the tourney (no Noel makes it a real possibility). I think Miller would have been an asset with this group.
-
And my point is Miller didn't figure that role out until surrounded by Davis and MKG. Much easier to make a few big plays here and there when the opponent is focusing on the #1 and #2 pick in the draft. He could have filled the same role the two years prior, but instead had UK fans wondering if he'd ever figure it out instead.
Look, I like Hawkins a lot and think he is a solid mid plus recruit. Why not let him find his own level based on the options available and not start placing off the wall expectations where they don't belong???[/QUOTE]
You must not have read the previous posts where they were saying Alabama and Pitino were "kicking the tires." If I'm not mistaken Louisville beat UK this year. Maybe these expectations are too low at the current time.
-
I like the Shelvin Mack comparison. Hawkins just gets the job done. Obviously, Davis and MKG made the team, my argument is that you need guys like Darius...Hawkins is just that! Willis is not tough enough to be that. He is an unbelievable HS player (so was Hood) but will get pushed around in college. I also think he will struggle to play defense at Calipari's level. If I'm not mistaken Bullitt East is a zone team. Say what u want, it makes a difference. Madison Central plays man.
-
This years UK team is evidence why it's important to have "4-year" guys on the roster. No chemistry, selfishness, etc. Why was last years group so good? Darius Miller...he would have put Harrow and Goodwin in their places this year while making Poythress play hard ALL of the time.
With that said, in my opinion, Dominique Hawkins for Madison Central should be offered a scholarship to play for UK. Not sure where he is being recruited but he is consistently putting up big numbers against the top competition in the state and nation. I know they're a little different in position but their roles could be similar on a team next year that will tout unbelievable talent but need a "SOLID" guy in the program.
What are your thoughts?

...the injury bug has hit Woodford. Hope they can heal up before the district tourney.
-
Mason could be a tough out in the 10th region tourney, especially at The Fieldhouse. That is if they get past Augusta.

This is the 2nd time you've gone after someone who has tried to praise a coach, AD, school or whoever for doing the right thing. Why is that?
