  1. Valley played better than I had expected, but turned the ball over every time they threatened to score. With only 28 players dressed, losing 2 was a big hit for them also. Best of luck to them. Cain Cooksey, Brandon Bryant and Justin Holcomb I believe is who the Daily Indepent said got ejected from the Boyd County side, but I never heard who the 2 Valley boys were. As for the what's and why's I'm not sure. I've heard about ten different versions on what started it. I hope Coach Brooks gets the tempers in line, this is not what you want to be known for in football.

  2. Nobody needs any reminder of who CCH is, but looks like some may want to remember who the Tomcats are. They are the only team to finish a game within 4 points of the #1 team in WV. They are the team that held the Belfry very potent running game to 7 points. They are also the team that held J.J.Jude to 83 yards. I defintely believe that CCH is the better team, but they are going to be in a game and a tough one having to drive over 2 hours to play at Putnam Stadium. Should Ashland pull this out I seriously doubt they can hang with Highlands like CCH did, but I don't think CCH can do that twice. But I have been wrong before, yesterday in fact, I picke Alabama to win. So I'm not perfect, but I'm usually pretty close.

  3. Anyone else have a feeling that this is the first of a 2 game series this year?

It may well be another 2 game series. This will be the 1st true test for the Eagles. I've seen those who compare the common games and I hope the Rams are not doing the same, Fairview pulls the starters early in the 2nd half and rarely touch the field in the 4th quarter. The Rams may well step up this week and prove me wrong. This would not surprise me from such a storied program, I still feel the Eagles win this as long as they don't go in thinking they've won before they even played the game, which may well be the case. It's hard to blow out opponents week in and week out and not realise you're coming up on someone who can play with you even on a good night.

  4. Boyd County moved the ball alot better than I expected, but just couldn't find the end zone. The Lions were just way over matched in this one, but that seems to be the case for all who play the Tomcats aside from what is considered by many to be the best team in WV, who also had their hands full I must add. I won't lie, I'm not a Tomcats fan, but they are on a mission this year. I doubt they get beat again untill they run into Highlands or maybe Covinton Cathlic. Good show Tomcats and congrats.

  5. Alan, Highlands is without a doubt, no question, the best team in the state this year, and one of the better in Ky. history. So I'll break it down for you, no one in the state can handle this highlands team. I will also add that I am not a fan of Highlands, but I give credit when it's due, they've earned it.

  6. We had a thread about this earlier in the year, but I wonder if there's ever been a turnaround of this magnitude in KY HS football history. I want to say that the odds are that SOMEBODY has done this before (winless to unbeaten regular season), but in that thread, I don't think anyone was able to find one... congrats to LC on quite the magical season!

I don't have the solid facts, just what I've been hearing. The word I got was this was the first time in KY football history that a team went from winless to undefeated the next season, and I'm prety sure no one went winless to 12-0 the very next season. Congrats to the Dawgs in this spectacular turn around.

  7. This was a very good game. Lawrence County played very conservitive, nothing flashy or risky. I believe they could've made us look bad, but didn't. Both teams played with class. My Lions looked alot better, they were simply playing a better team, congrats to the Bulldogs in their win and district title, they both earned and deserved it.
