My gosh where do you live in NKy that NKU is too far to drive to?
Even if your kid attends Ryle, it's not that far to drive! I live in Oakbrook and I can make it to the BOKC in 20 minutes or less easy! BTW from my home to the BOKC is only 16.7 miles!
My goodness, some districts in Kentucky must travel over a 100 miles to play in their Regional games!
It's not as convenient as driving 15 minutes to a nearby high school, dropping them off and then going back 90 minutes later to pick them up. Last year there were very few students at the games.
-
I agree. The BOKC amenities are fantastic but the atmosphere isn't the same.
I agree. Less students attend the games because if your kid can't drive, NKU is too far for parents to drop their kids off and then go pick them up. I think only the final game should be played there, the others should be played at the schools.

Thompson pulled Alford towards the end of the 3rd qtr and in came his sophomore son to finish the game. IMO seniors should have been able to finish out their last game on the field regardless of who St.X had on the field. The stories that are coming from this program doesn't look good for the future. Boone has talent, maybe not St.X type of talent, but they have better than what is being put out on the field in certain positions. It's a shame that the kids have to suffer from the political nonsense of some programs.
Alford was still playing defense at that point, so he was still in the game.

Boone has had some very embarrising games but they can play if they want to. I don't know if you remember their first win over Lafayette, who beat Henry Clay, who beat SK.
Elliot is good but not even close to the talent of Simpson, West, Slater(Anderson), and pretty much anyone on Highlands.
If Ryle plays to their full potential they'll come away with a win, but if they make too many mistakes Boone will sieze the opportunity.

Call me crazy but in my personal opinion I think Bradley is a better back.
I don't know what your reasoning is on this one. Quainoo is faster, stronger, quicker, and more experienced. He is a back that led the state in the season last year, who is young enough to be a juinor (He was born on the cutoff date for grade levels).
Boone is there own opponent this week. If they come into the game like they can just go through the motions, than Cooper has a tiny chance.

I think most are shocked they shut down Boone's running game. The ways S.K. ran wild. And I agree, sometimes a loss early wakes people up.
Quainoo was hurt and was used only when needed, but Connor's D did step it up. Boone's D was pathetic. I've never seen a Boone County defense miss so many tackles. They are small and young, but they need to learn how to bring their feet. It's a fundamental that should of been taught in pee-wee. Connor is a good team this year but Boone made their whole team look all-state.
-
I'll take Conner by a Stephens field goal - Conner 24 Boone 21.
Quainoo made all state because he had an all state offensive line and a bazillion carries last year. Unfortunately all the mileage caught up with him later in the season and he broke down at an inopportune time. Meanwhile Simpson picked his team up and carried them on his back to Papa Johns. Ask any experience D-back who they would rather have to tackle to save a game. Simpson - much bigger, faster, stronger and just as agile.
I can almost guarantee Quainoo is faster, stronger, and more agile than Simpson, he just lacks size. He also, sadly, is not very committed to the sport. But I heard he was hurt and didn't practice all week? This would be a huge loss for Boone.
Connor's O-line needs work so if Boone's D-line can penetrate and contain West than Boone's DB's will handle Connor's recievers. Campbell County and Connor both play spread offenses and Boone's defense did a good job last week. I predict a very emotional game for both teams.
-
With that remaining schedule it won't help them if he's back or not. They have a shot versus Campbell and Newport
-
Quainoo runs just as hard as Simpson. If Boone's defense can stop a pass based offense like last week, Boone will win.
Boone 28
Connor 14

The field was a mess and throwing only posed a risk for a turnover. Why pass when you can get it done on the ground?
-
After last weeks loss, do you really think BC's defense will have improved enough , in one week, to stop or even slow down the high powered offense of Highlands? Your not serious are you??
You haven't seen Anderson this year have you?
-
He was born in Kenya and his family move to the Bronx in New York City. They relocated to Bonne County several years ago.
Sorry this is a year old but this just bothered me. His parents are from Ghana and they moved to NYC, and that's where he was born.:ylsuper:

Highland's Dale Mueller at the top.
Boone County's I'd say is next(the whole staff). Someone told me that all of the coaching staff went and played for Boone. Can't wait for the game this week.
-
You forgot Ludlow and Dayton.
Hilarious quote:lol: But Cooper on the top ten, seriously?
-
I'm sure after last week's loss Boone will have worked hard at practice all week. The score was bad but you have to remember they played Anderson. IMO if Highlands played Anderson the score would be in the 42-7 range. I watched Beechwood play both Highlands and Boone. I think this one will be closer than everyone thinks. Boone was up 21-3 at halftime when they put there backups in, and IMO if Boone would of played the entire game they would have scored 3 more. If Boone's defense gets it together they stand a chance
-
Brother's son plays for Anderson. Said Anderson played entirely backups the second half. He was very surprised with Boone's passing game - or lack thereof. They may be feeling the effects of Lokesak and Spaulding graduating.
Boone played mainly backups starting second half and all backups in the end
-
Anderson's line destroyed Boone. Not a suprise with two D1 players, one going to Ohio State. but the quarterback and Slater ran all over them. I don't think either of them had a run under atleast 10 yards. Boone needs to work on tackling alot before Highlands. Boone is not where they've been for the last few years. Perhaps this is the beginning of the end now that Boone's district will not be growing.
-
Connor's schedule is weak compared to other 6A schools in their district. I think the coach might be more concerned with picking up W's than preparing for his tough district games. Boone started off with Lafayette and Scott Co. and are playing Anderson (OH) next and Highlands after that. SK scheduled Henry Clay. Ryle has Highlands twice. Connor is a good team now and needs to start playing better teams

Rule 13
Boone will beat Conner and Campbell with no trouble. Cooper will be closer this year but Bradley can't run against a solid defense, which Boone will have this year with so much experience on defense coming back. Dixie and Scott County will be good games. SK is a long shot. I don't know how good Anderson is this year but last year their entire offense was seniors. Highlands, Clay, and Ryle are losses.
With good on the field leadership, Boone can make a comeback after an upsetting season last year.
