  1. I've always felt that as a coach, Spritzsky was nothing to write home about. We will see this year, as Dixie has some prime talent. If he is once agan in that 5-5, 6-4 range (7-3 maybe acceptable; just depends on how the 7-3 came about) then my suspicions are confirmed. I believe they need a better coaching staff. Good guys, average coaches.

    Agreeded!

  2. I concur, however, Dixie is still a better match-up for HHS athletically than most local schools because they will challenge the entire field and have athletes that you have to account for on both sides of the ball. Dixie could benefit greatly from preparing their players better in the off-season to start seasons stronger. There is still plenty of reason to put these two teams together on the schedule unless something changes in NKY football.

    Dixie does not have: 1) Quality off season program 2) Spring practice

    3) Double or triple practice before the season. They replaced the AD hopefully the coach is next.

  3. The last minute of the first half was a huge turning point in the game. Conner had the ball around their own 45 (or so), and Haggerty picked off a West pass and took it back for 6. However, Dixie's linebacker was called for unsportsmanlike conduct for thowing a block 40+ yards away from Haggerty. It was a very dumb move, and the coaches let him have it. Dixie then got the ball on their half of the field with 40 seconds left and was driving. Wilson threw a deep ball over the middle to Haggerty who was taken out by the safety before the ball arrived, but no flag was thrown. It was a huge miscall, and it was the last time they threw the ball over the middle.

    As for the game as a whole, Dixie is still arm tackling and trying to strip the ball. The yards after contact against Dixie have to be huge this year. They were able to get some pressure on West tonight, and pretty much held him in check the first half. However, the second half, it seemed like Conner was able to run all over Dixie. Pugh and West had some nice runs in the 2nd.

    Offensively, it looked to me like Dixie was trying to run the ball too much. Klei had one great run on his TD run, but that was it. Conner was pretty stout against the run for the most part. It left Dixie in a lot of 3rd and longs. They also stopped throwing the ball over the middle in the 2nd half. The receivers were running either underneath or over top the linebackers in the first half with success, but in the second, everything was ran outside the hash marks.

    Play calling was odd for Dixie offense...whats did you think?

  4. VOICE OF REASON.....Rigdon is just an average passer, but yesterday he was far, far below that. He missed people that were wide open and he made extremely poor decisions. He made some very excellent passes vs Dixie last year to receivers who were fairly well covered. He will have to bounce back and next week will not be the time for that to happen.

    I can't agree with you concerning the Dixie Quarterback. I thought he threaded the needle all day and the same receivers who dropped everything last week, caught everything this week and they knew what to do with it after the catch.

    Does anyone know how many penalties were called vs Dixie and for what total yardage? Dixie overcame many penalties which would normally become drive stoppers and they stopped Beechwood after the many defensive penalties. This only emphasizes the total domination that Dixie displayed.

    Penalties:

    B'wood===7-34

    Dixie=====11-119
