  1. Eagles, learn from Lone Oak's heart-breaking loss today: DON'T...LET...UP.

    PERIOD.

If you get up by 16, like Lone Oak did, go for 40. Take no prisoners. If you get a running clock, THEN you can think about letting up.

I remember a young man named Ostrander that refused to let his team let-up, so hopefully LCA will remember past experiences and put this game out of reach in a hurry. AND TAKE NO PRISONERS!

  2. IMO ... I'll buy in on Hayden being a D1 prospect. Witt and Burdette I see as excellent players but below D1. West I have not seen so I don't have an opinion.

I can see Hayden going to WKU because his brother plays there, but aside from Hayden, I think Burdette will be playing after high school. The kid can catch anything u throw at him and can jump over the moon. He is very coachable but will take a play or two off at times. I think Witt will play baseball and West is a given to play D1 football, he is a monster of a kid with very little body fat.

  3. Your thoughts, please.

The game will be at LCA.

Bluto, its good to be back and I really enjoy hearing from all the people which are discussing this game, as much as Id like LCA to win since I am the very proud parent of no. 6, I think its very harde for any single A school to beat a 4A school. I like the chances for LCA if they will look at this game as playing another team and not look at the jersey with the name on it. We need to stay close and maybe we can get a few extra plays from some of our skill players and hopefully our defense can hold up to the on slaught of players catholic will bring. i think it will be similiar to how Winston Guy did the QB from Lone Oak 2 years ago, one rush after another.

  4. With us it has to be commitment first, followed by support, and lastly winning...it took us sometime to get on top...now that we've been there for about 40 years, it makes the other two much easier.

Well said, no matter how each of these two teams got to this point, they are the most exciting two teams in the state. I for one, and many more from lexington just love to watch either team play. Good luck to both!

  5. Highlands and Beechwood...again, are public. There are two Catholic football schools of note in NKY are NewCath and CovCath. Last I checked, Highlands owned CovCath and it wasn't until 2001 that NewCath and Beechwood became a rivalry.

Pikeville is an independent city school, also but if you live outside city limits you can attend but you have to pay tuition. Is it the same way at Beechwood and Highlands, some may be different.

  6. You couldn't be more right, especially the bolded part. I saw numerous off-target passes (not a knock on Olinger - everyone has an off-night occaisionally). If those passes were more precise, the score would have been different.

I think the LCA coaches will put staying focused very high on the priority list, If we look at the route each of these two teams took in order to get to this point in the playoffs i have to think LCA will not have a problem staying focused and realizing Hazard is the only team they need to be thinking about.

  7. Who wins this game and why? What will be the keys to victory for both teams?

I think LCA wins but not by the same margin as the last game. The key to victory for LCA will be playing the type defense they are now playing and the offense will pretty much take care of the rest. I think LCA just has too many weapons when offense and defense are on the same page. These kids from LCA can play some serious defense when they get cranked up. 32 and 6 can be a QB nightmare.

  8. oldrambler, was QB sick from virus or what. LCA had one missing from Williamsburg game from throwing-up, etc. Heard this morning 3-4 more were sick, three being starters, they lockered beside the kid from last week. Hopefully it is not serious. I would like to see both teams well.

Found out the 3-4 sick was just a rumor, all is well on the home front.:dancingpa

  9. Someone made a great suggestion: considering the fact that the Detroit Lions are pitiful, and are playing the Titans on Thanksgiving Day (& will get "killed"), why not move the LCA/Raceland game up to Thursday, and televise our game instead of Detroit's? LCA/Raceland will be far closer and more entertaining.

    Whaddya think?

With all the changes, surely more intertaining.

  10. Raceland missed Tyler Boyles on defense as well Friday nigh,he is an excellent D-Back as well as QB and went out in the 1st qtr..

I am sure that the Raceland staff this week will be workng on the problems they faced in that area.

  11. :thumb: We all support out team and LCA/Raceland fans have always done that in the right way. I think that I can speak for all Raceland faithful in saying that we have ton of respect for LCA, your coach, your players and fans. You are correct in the way that both teams play. I don't make any predictions on any of the Raceland games (personal superstition/policy of mine) but I can predict, no....I can promise that win or lose that Raceland will play untill the final horn and leave it all out on the field.

As for your prediction.....I hope that is a result of too much LCA Blue kool - aid.:D

(BTW Ram Players.....did you notice that prediction on the post that I quoted here? LCA by 3 TD''s!!

You may want to post that on the bulletin board this week.)

Well, if you`re going to post it on the bulletin board, lets stretch it out a little farther to 4 touchdowns.( By halftime) You will have figured out the new offense by then.:scared: Now you know what a wild wish looks like.

  12. All pro, as your guys have been saying - I can promise you that No One here is looking past LCA and if either team is already looking at Beechwood then they are not focusing on this game and are in trouble.

Besides, whoever wins has to get past the Pikeville/Hazard winner first. So, should Raceland win then Beechwood is still not even in consideration yet, the focus wil be on the semi final.

As for helping Bluto out, I am glad that you are. Bluto is friend to all of the BGP/Raceland fans on here. There is never any shortage of one taking jabs at the other. All is in good fun, as it should be. :thumb:

I will give LCA congrats should the Eagles win this game but would much rather wish them good luck in their off season conditioning program after this one in getting ready for next season :D.

Anyway, prayers for a safe trip to LCA and all of their fans Friday and may both teams stay injury free.

:cool:Oldrambler, you`re a class act and i hope the fun continues. I`m new to this so I hope never to offend anyone. I was put out to pasture a long time ago but high school football is my passion. I do have a son that plays for LCA and does start for them but I wish a big GOOD LUCK to both teams. I think we all love to see these teams play, they play with grit. We dont see that much anymore. LCA by 3 touchdowns:D
