  1. Including alcohol?

Not answering for him, but everything in moderation comes to mind. Controlling what you put into your body is controlling how much of the bad things you put in. It is totally unreasonable to think that someone will go their whole life without any saturated fat. It is also very unlikely someone will go their whole life without drinking any alcohol. It becomes a problem when you consume entirely too much of it leading to obesity or in the latter case, alcoholism.

  2. You are probably correct! But you missed my point!! If Holmes had been # 1 it wouldn't have mattered if Boyd County was # 2 and Piarist # 3 it would have been a good poll!!!!!!!!!!:rolleyes:

It seems like you have a chip on your shoulder when it comes to Eta and Holmes. Eta is without a doubt over the top, but he is dead on when he says Holmes is the best in the state at this point. I know that bothers you, but it is what it is brother.

  3. I had the worst dream the night before last. I was in my car driving and had just left my boyfriends house, and my phone starting ringing. I answered it, but the phone went black and I heard static. Then I actually felt someone sit on the bed next to me, and I started to panic, and felt like someone was pressing down on my chest. I couldn't breathe or talk. It was horrible.

  4. Did they have much in the way of complications or problems with eating afterwards?

You know, I may end up going that route at some point. So I may be back in touch with you for moral support. ;-)

It takes a little time to adjust to what you can and can not eat, but after you get the hang of it, it's not bad they said. You do have problems with some things getting stuck, in which you end up throwing it back up. I'm sure that part isn't great lol. But so far they are so much happier. It automatically programs you to eat less by portioning what you can eat basically. And the great thing is you dont gain it back. If you go this route, let me know, I can talk to you more about it. :)

  5. I know what they're going through. I seriously considered the lap-band last summer. I even talked to the doctor and reserved a place at a meeting. But I decided to try it without the surgery. I figured I don't need to complicate my medical situation an more than it already is. What I'm doing now seems to be working for me (at the moment); but I would wholeheartedly support their decision to go the surgical route.

Yeah, I was worried at first, but it's honestly been the best thing to happen for them. My mom is so much happier and confident and healthier overall. Same for my dad. I think it's great youre trying to do it the natural way though, and I hope you succeed so you don't have to go the surgical route.

  6. My girlfriend had the same reaction. It was the only rollercoaster I could get her on though... Mainly because it was inside and she couldn't see it until it was too late... :D

lol, thats how I was. Everyone is like "It's not bad, it's a beginner rollercoaster, don't worry" and I figured it must be if it's inside. THEY LIED!

  7. That's awesome! Unlike the people that are being defended in here, they obviously had a serious condition to fight against. But they were determined to overcome their problems and they did it. That's great! :thumb:

Thank you. It's nice to see it for myself, because really my whole life I saw them struggle with it. :)

  8. No, I HATE rollercoasters. I'm terrified. I shake, cry, curse lol. Space Mountain in Disney everyone could hear me screaming that I was going to die. It may be irrational, but they literally scare me to the point I am in a panic and in shock. So I just don't get on them :)

  9. I will ask this again. What percentage of the population is obese due to a medical condition such as an unactive thyroid (or something else). The only number I could find said between 2% - 20%. Also of that number what percentage cannot be control with medication?

OhYea, you said your family has thyroid problems. Is this a condition that can't be treated with medicine? I have tried to find some info but haven't found the answers I was looking for.

They do take medicine to even the levels out, the problem is thryoid problems make it VERY difficult to lose weight. And when you do lose it, it typically comes back. My parents are very serious about getting their health in order. They had weight loss surgery [lap band] last year and my mom has lost 100+ and my dad has lost 70. Again, I'm VERY proud of my parents, and the only thing I really take offense to is people saying they are disgusted by them or that they brought this on themselves and are lazy etc. Because you don't actually know that is the issue. For a lot I'm sure it is. For an 800 lb child its likely their sedentary nature and diet. But not all people are fat out of their own lack of discipline.

For me, I know that their is a huge history of heart disease, diabetes, and weight gain in my family. But honestly, If I get fat right now at this point, it's all on me, because I am lazy as can be today. I'm trying to work on it, but that is a fact. My parents are not in that same category.

  10. Actually they had the chance to tie this game up with 35 seconds left, and some poor coaching and some poor decision making by a coulple of players basically blew that chance. Good game until that. They were also doing great with their inside game in the first half, and then totally and completely went away from it in the second half. Those that I talked to were most upset with those two points.

Really liked Central's coaching. They were very enthusiastic and involved with the boys.

  11. Geisler over Arnold? Not even close.

Arnold is hands down the best soph. in nky. None of the other players on that list would see the floor this year at Holmes. Arnold would start for ANY team in nky and honestly none of those players have near the all around game that Arnold has. He'll be a high D1 recruit his senior year.

Don't know about that, but I wouldn't take Geisler over Arnold either.

  12. Gotta ask though, why would a D1 prospect go NAIA?

Not sure how it is for basketball, but my brother is a D1 prospect for baseball [has recieved offers] but also is looking at an NAIA school at the moment as one of his options as well. Sometimes it just depends on the fit for the person, playing time, money etc.

  13. Rico sat out the whole second quarter in foul trouble. I'd say that had a little more to do with the Largo run, than Holmes being winded. Largo pressed the WHOLE game and Holmes was fine in the 4th quarter.

I tuned in for the 2nd and on, and honestly I don't think Rico sitting it out for most of it had much to do with it, maybe a little...but it was more sloppy play, poor shot selection.
