  1. A big win for Western Hills in many ways. Offensive and defensive lines played well, and get Justen Perry back next week after missing game with injury. Curry had time to throw the ball and had a big night. Wright played very physical on both sides of the ball, leading the team in rushing and tackles. LBs did a great job of staying home and making tackles. North Oldham really only had one drive, which resulted in their lone TD. This victory allows Western Hills to host only its second play off game ever (first in 16 years), is the first back to back winning seasons in school history, and gives them an opportunity to win the Frankfort city championship if they defeat Franklin Co. next week.

Actually they hosted Cov Cath back in the 2000 season.

  2. Henry County better stay focused on Central and not be looking past them to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Central is going to be a tough 1st round opponent and is capable of pulling the upset at the "bee hive". Good luck Wildcats.

Since they are playing at Central then I am guessing that the only upset would occur if Henry won, not if Central won.

  3. I think the schedule was planned over two years ago when they were 3-7 or something like that, it's not like they made it at the begining of the season, don't take anything away from HC, they are a good team, if I'm not mistaken they had a few key players out on the Oline, they will rebound and make a good run in the playoffs. But if you were counting on an championship season, and based it off of 1A blowouts your are mistaken. If you ask anyone on the coaching staff they would same the same thing. They are just playing the schedule that has been set for two years now.

Going back and looking at schedules, it appears that Western Hills was 3-7, 2 years ago as well, but they are playing the same schedule this year as they did last year. Based on the current classification system looks like Western Hills took the harder road to the game last night, which may or may not been a factor. I guess it is just the approach that each coach took to scheduling for the last 2 years. As to injured players, hate to see that, but last week I think Western Hills starting QB was suspended, basically like an injury and they managed to squeak out a win against. Sounds like it was good game for the fans at least, maybe they will see each other in the playoffs at some point.

  4. Western Hills defense has been tough against the run thus far this season, while Spencer County has good rushing numbers. Strength vs. strength. Western Hills 21-10.

West Jessamine ran pretty well against that Western Hills D last Friday night. Could very well be anyones games with Spencer being a running team and Western Hills not stopping the run very well last Friday.
