When's the announcement?
-
Knights 52, what's the latest on the Bourbon County coaching search?
-
Sounds like Knights 52 has the inside info on this deal, keep us updated!!
-
Unfortunately the rumor is true. Bourbon is open.

This will not be the last year for Paris Football. There are 13 8th graders coming up after this season that should stay together. The feeder program has been improved and the numbers in the feeder program is growing. Paris has just had a few down years as far as the # of boys in each class (must be the water in Stoner Creek). This could be the year for the Hounds to turn the tide and get back into the win column. A winning season coupled with 13 incoming Freshmen that should go deep into the middle school playoffs would lay the foundation to rebuild this proud program.

Rests and expatiates in a life to come.

Maybe Coach Rains is using Bourbon County as leverage for the Madison Southern job. It would be Bourbon County's luck, that they fire a great coach and get left at the alter.
-
Why the cover up?
-
Not retired- fired
I never heard that. How can you win a state championship and get fired. That sounds like firing a coach who one more game in two years than the school won in the past 7 years. I thought the HL article said he resigned.
-
I thought Paul Rains retired last year from a great job at LCA. Why the interest in the Bourbon County job?
-
Is there some type of etiquette in the coaching profession re: the pursuing of coaching jobs? I would think that there are some rules that govern this situation.
-
How do you meet for a job, when it is not open, if that is the case can you say snake in the grass!
Sound like some one needs to get a garden hoe.
-
Would a meeting with the superintendant constitute looking into the job ?
I would think so.
-
I kinda doubt Rains would be TRYING to get Bourbon job....that doesn't sound right.
Time will tell.
-
I could see doing it if you had a lot of injuries, but Bourbon had close to 70 players when I saw them.
Must have seen the 1998 team. Coach Poynter & Barnes are lucky to have 15 JV players. I heard that the "Commissioner" stripped Bourbon of the title and gave it to Mason and kicked them out of the conference for playing the Varsity QB (who is a junior), a violation of the "Commissioner's" rules. Maybe the "Commissioner" can kick Pike Central, Sheldon Clark, Belfry, Somerset, Lou. Central & Tilghman out of Class 3A, as well. Hail Caesar.

Who won the game and the championship?
-
Who wins and why?
-
Who wins and why?
-
That's been going on for years.
Bourbon County watering the field is news to me. Any specifics?
-
Johnny Poynter lives in Richmond, he would be a good candidate.
-
Two good teams. Boyle has played a good schedule. Catholic has played a great schedule. Catholic wins 28-21.
-
The biggest turn around is somewhat our attitude. Our freshman and JV teams had a combined record of 14-1. They have found out what it means to win and I feel that will carry over when they become seniors and have the sense of urgency to want to win the big games. I am proud of the whole program but especially the younger guys who are going to eventually lead our team to good things.
Well said!!
-
Oh, I'm sorry.
Dress warm? :idunno: I hope you guys from Bourbon County have a safe trip to Boyle County. Bring a good crowd! :thumb:
Thanks. I hope we bring a big crowd too.:thumb:

Here are the county schools that do not have football. Does anybody know why they don't or if they ever have?
Carlisle County
Cumberland County
Elliot County
Hickman County
Lee County
Lyon County
Menifee County
Owesley County
I am not sure about the other schools listed, but I would assume that football would intefere with open gym at Elliott County.

I think the discussion re: the Boyle/ Bourbon game has become a little mundane, the poll results kind of tell the story. Boyle has a great defense and the 85 Bears had a great defense. Any thoughts on this battle, fyi, Bears would be playing with a mini Ditka coaching them and not the regualr size Ditka. :jump:
I will take the Rebels, 4-0. Rebels get two safety's.
What's going on Bourbon County...?
