NL will equal the win total from last year and start the season 1-0. Should be a good game to watch.
I doubt it. And I also doubt the "DAWGS" are as soft as that pitiful Leslie team they beat last year. North loses by at least 2 touchdowns.
-
Pulaski stopped the passing game after half time. If they can lock down last years WR, you think they can stop this years.
Yeah since they gave up 40 points. Not. They arent going to give up that many points. You must be on the wrong side of Laurel County. But its ok.

I hope Welch works on the missed tackles. Pulaski runs that same kind of plays. And they will stop souths air game as they did last year. Souths Coach better change something. They give up 40 points at Pulaski and they will not win.
Last year they stoped the deep balls. South screened them to death. And threw some crossing routes. They dont have Ronnie Claibourne playing corner anymore.

Plus SL will have Jeremy Armfield back in time for this one. He is one of the top linemen recruits this year. He also is an unstopable force on defense.
-
Low thirties, but supposedly their gonna throw it more this year. I mean he had 5 touchdowns in 3 quarters!

I agree I havent heard much about HC besides one of their top players being out. I do think it will be a good test for South and their defense, especially now that they have more than 3-4 people in the box. I just wanna see how HC's defense will fair against this potent offense.
-
The only thing I seen last night they did well was run it, run it, run it, then get a play action pass for some yards. Thats always a good mix.

Zach Lewis, Clay County should pass Couch's for Yards Passing in a Career sometime this season, he is only 1,583 yards shy coming into the season.
COUCH - 12,167
LEWIS - 10,584
I agree, he is a great QB and I also think Ricky Bowling will be able to pass that but were talking about passing TD's
-
I watched part, but when I left it was a low scoring game and NL was losing.

Interesting. You may see him in there slinging the football when they are on the bad side of blowouts. Is it worth playing him in blowouts against the second straing defense early in the year and risking injury for the rest of the year to attain the record?
With the talent they have they shouldnt find themselves on the bad side of blowouts. They might have some shootouts but their potent offense should keep them out of blowouts. Def. Coordinator Larry Welch might also have brought in a new philosophy that will match their schedule.

I agree it is alot but if I'm correct he averages around 3 per game over his career at SLHS. Plus the coaches really want to get this too. So we may see alot of play action in the red zone, instead of pounding it with the run.

Anyone think South Laurel's QB Ricky Bowling can break the career touchdown record set by Couch? He only needs 38!
And if not who will?
-
What about that big Gambrel boy?
Did he do anything?
-
Doubt it, I hear they are returning a senior running back that is really tough.

South's defense looked bad. Giving up well over 350 yards rushing. Thats not gonna cut it if they hope to do anything with Pulaski, Mercer, and Lincoln. On the other side they looked good. Scoring 48 points.
I will admit the defense looked rough at times, but when they needed plays they made them. And alot of the troubles last night was the fact that PCC spread them out and gave them alot of zone and sweep. Most of the points scored by PCC were off missed tackles in the back field. Believe-you-me Coach Welch will have that fixed in no time. Props to the offense.

Anyone know how this one went?
-
Does anyone know how Chad Merida did?
-
I think losing chad will not hurt South as much as everying thinks. Steven Q is as fast as Chad, I think S.Q hits the hole better, he also has better take off speed. S.L. has a very good o-line if they give Ricky time then good things will happen. If S.L. can get their defense working together then they should do good this year.
Steven Quillen is A whole lot faster then Chad Merida hes not as big but he is very elusive in the open field.

PC only scored 35 points while SL's starters were in. But everyone got hurt. So they started sitting people.
The scrimmage the other day was 42-32 while the starters were in. JV dont matter when it comes to Friday night.
