D1 kickers aren't on the field every offensive play, run back and forth to the sidelines every down to receive plays or play defense like Ryan does either. One botched kick isn't a valid indicator of his "ability" and Ryan does indeed have "it" along with great athleticism and the right attitude to succeed. My son played 4 years with a D1 kicker (UL's Tim Dougherty) so I think I might know one when I see one.
Tim can't even make a 15 yard field goal.

Yea Ludlow and Dayton are extremely tough.

:argue: Desales is probably not in agreement with this assessment
IF you were at the game you would agree, it was a garbage call. Desales fan or not.
-
Holding his holding.
Alright the 20Rook that's true but you don't throw the flag after hesitating and seeing HC is going to score. Then a few players later a Desales player punch a HC player right in front of a Ref not even close to the play. What is your response to that?
-
35-17 NCC.. don't see much of a chance for Desales.
-
Garbage calls cost this one for HC. Andy Roenker had the ball on the five yard line after about a fifty yard run and the ref threw the flag for holding back where the play began. Just can't make that call in a game like this. Either way good game both sides of the ball.

IMO, this is one of the premier games this Friday...although it won't get much pre-game press. Any Holy Cross or DeSales fans should go if they can...
I agree! Going to be a flat out great, hard hitting game.
-
Not sure what you mean by this? The CovCath fans somehow bother you?
If I said no I'd be lying.
-
Never seen Johnson Central play, but I have seen Covington Catholic. Let's just say they can have all the Colonel support in the world and still won't pull this one off. Including all the cool parents and even cooler NDA girls wearing the sweatshirts and sweatpants.
-
A friend of mine has a son playing for DeSales. He says they are peaking at the right time and playing more physical every week. I'll take his word for it and go with the Colts.
Well I also have a friend. He said his friend of a friend heard Holy Cross Passing offense is just awesome to say the least. Doesn't mean it's right. I see HC taking this one 21-17.
-
2400 or a little over for Desales to around 2700 for Hc. I am just failing to see where the stats are in favor of Desales? I believe the passing yardage favors HC to the tune of 590(d) to 700(h).
Theoldman12 and his stats :flame: hard to beat trust me I've tried. Never quits even when he's wrong. He knows "everything".

You left off a digit, here I'll fix it for you
Ludlow 14
Beechwood 47
 No offense to Ludlow or their program, but I predict this one not being much of a game.
-
Agreed. NCC may have won convincingly at the last meeting, but Lloyd definitly out hit them. Lloyd MUST stop the big plays. Any team can be beaten on any night. Or something like that. If Lloyd wants to win, they have to believe. I'm sure everyone has heard of David and Golliath... Upsets happen all the time. I sure hope NCC doesn't expect Lloyd to just lay down and give them the game, because that's not going to happen.
I agree with one of many Lloyd didn't out hit NCC.Although I do want Lloyd to pull off this upset.:thumb:

HC for state!:thumb:

Yes, but if they play like they did against Boone then HC could put up 21 points.

From a distance, it seems like Newport has really improved as the season has gone on.
Seems like this is a popular one to qoute, so I'll do the same but relate it to HC. HC has done the exact opposite of improving the past few weeks. They still can't convert in the redzone and their QB still is having trouble finding his targets. All and all HC has a long way to go and hardly. Enough time before play offs.

I see this as a closer game than it appears most do. If we get the rain I think it helps Loyd. They are a little more physical than NCC IMO. Both team have real good backs.
Rain
Loyd 21
NCC 14
No Rain
NCC 28
Loyd 14
I think these predictions are wrong. Past couple weeks Lloyd hasn't exactly been able to hold onto the ball so how would the rain help them? Anyway it would be awesome if Lloyd comes up with the upset and can't believe I'm saying this, but for this one game...Go Juggs!
-
Dixie lost everyone too. The best player they had coming back was Smallwood and I have heard he is not even playing. I just don't get how Holy Cross loses Sorrel and they are not even in the top 12. They have a lot of seniors and a lot more expirence then some of these teams on here.
I agree who does CCH have scoring wise that is better than HC?
-
From what I have gathered it would be a three way tied andI'm not sure how they would determine the 2nd place team in the district. Now if Lloyd beats NewCath that changes everything.
Actually, unless NCC loses to Loyd. It will be NCC (1) HC (2) Lloyd (3) and Newport (4). Also as long as HC wins tonight. This way NCC and HC have home field advantage. :thumb:

11. Holy Cross (Covington) 67.65
I'll take that for a record of 2-5!
-
I am going to predict....
HC-28
Newport-10
-
HC schedule is pretty tough.
-
How does the schedules being similar matter? I would say most of the teams on Newport schedules that they lost to would have beat HC also. Most of the teams that HC beat I would say Newport could have to.
I completely agree I mean Newport has great wins. I mean Pendleton County, Bishop Brossart, and Scott.

28-7 is by three tds?
What he is saying is HC, overall, had a great D performance. The plays they scored on were long plays where they just took advantage of HC defense's mistakes. They were playing usaul oustide backer Conrad Eastin at middle and Sean Butts who hadn't seen much action since second game of season. So this D was bound for a few mistakes Beechwood's Neico Tiepel (sp) just found them and ran very well. Congrats to him.
