  1. Zach dropped because he and his family set an amount it would take to sign. If he didn't get that amount he was going to college. They made it know what that amount was to several scouts. Zach is a great player and had a great college freshman year. So, many clubs were not ready to meet his set amount. So, Zach is in college for 2 years. He is draft eligible after his Soph year because of age.

Thank you! You just made my point!

  2. I understand what you are saying but i don't agree that he is a top ten round pick. If he was that good to go in the top ten rounds I don't see why they would have a hard time drafting him. Even if he was asking for alot of money unless it was a ridiculous amount. And that goes for all the teams. The Red Sox were the only team that were going to take him? I just have a hard time believeing that a top ten round pick falls all the way to 43 round. Now if he was suppose to go in the top ten rounds then went in the top 20 rounds it might be a little different. I guess Luke is the only player in high school out there asking for alot of money? The Red Sox took 14 High School kids in rounds 10 to 43. I guess all 14 of those guys weren't asking for too much money?

Also, you are saying they are losing a 43 round pick however you are clearly stating that he really isn't a 43 round pick. You are saying he is really a top ten round pick but was just drafted in the 43 round because he was asking for alot of money.

That is correct. Look at Zach Cox last year, I know he was a projected top 5 and fell all the way to somewhere around the 40th round. Do you know why he dropped this low? It's because he said he was going to college almost for sure unless he got a ton of money. So the team didn't draft him and they took a risk in the 40th round.

  3. That's not what I'm saying. It doesn't hurt to get an education while playing 3 years of college baseball to improve your draft position. I don't think it's wise to come out of high school when your drafted in the 43 round, just my opinion. If he was truly a top 20 round pick I don't see how he could possibly fall all the way to the 43 round. The Red Sox took 14 players out of High School that were drafted from rounds 11 to 43. So would it be accurate to say that they are doing the same exact thing with Luke they're with all of them if they don't sign right away?

The reason is because he is asking for a high amount of money. The Sox like his talent, but didn't want to waste a high round pick with him because of his signability issues. They did not want to waste a top ten pick on a kid who wants a certain amount of money that they cant commit to. Thus, they signed him in the 43rd round and are trying to come up with a number that is fitting for both Luke and the ball club. If the number is not there for Luke, it's not as big of a deal for the Sox because they are losing a 43rd round pick instead of a top ten. Does anyone realize where I'm coming from?:idunno:

  4. Conner didn't get the win did he? Wasn't NewCath losing when he was pulled? Sounds like it's Beechwood maybe. Doesn't sound like they will have anybody left to throw to beat CovCath. Do they have a junk ball thrower? Oh, and btw, the Dad and NewCath player in the grey Ford PU last night. There you go!!!

TD, what were you referring to about the dad and the New Cath player in the gray Ford pick up? JW

  5. Pitch them against Dixie. If CCH had trouble against our 5 pitcher we can just throw our ace . Then you"ll have 0 excuses.

First of all, I would assume Smallwood is Dixies ace right?....Maybe the fact that Isler, Nutini, Maile, and Darner all played on the same summer team as him and are well aware of his pitching style and what he brings to the table might cause some problems for Dixie.

  6. The OG Needs to settle down and maybe look at the coaching instead of the boys. I have seen Cov Cath play for the last three years and I don't think for one minute that for any reason the CCH players were to blame. Rather a coach that wants to play non starters just because your up a few runs, is the issue. The seniors and starters earned their spot on the field, at no point in 9th region baseball should a coach ever throw in non starters to finish a game. The boys earned their spots and deserve to finish the game. The OG needs to get off the kids and maybe focus on the small ball coach that CCH can't get rid of. Krumps knows his starters why does he try to get to know his non starters in a varsity game? Not to start things but it is clearly coaching and not the kids who love the sport.
