  1. They came back from 3 - 0 and 6 - 3. Scored three in 7th to tie on a passed ball and 2 out single by Schneider to tie. Campbell scored 1 in top of the 8th on HR. CCH scored two in bottom of 8th on a HB, BB, FC on a bunt. Pitcher fielded bunt and threw to third but runner beat the throw. Apparently the catcher told him to go to 1b but the CCH bench was so loud he couldn't hear the call. Lankheit, I believe it was, walked to tie game and then Schreiver hit clean single to left to win. It was pretty evident from the stands along 1b side that the CCH bench got to the pitcher. He seemed to try to throw every pitch harder than the one before and couldn't find the zone.

Good luck to both teams this week.

  2. If CCH doesn't figure out how to structure the defense they are going to have to get a lot of offense.

How do you structure a defense when both the third basemen are or have been hurt, your starting left fielder has a shoulder injury and the kid who replaces him has to move to rf because the rf has an arm injury? It's been a rough year in Park Hills for injuries.

  3. I agree Marley. Cottingham knows the truth and he made the best decision he could of.

First off junior, I have my facts dead on. Second, learn how to write sentences. Lastly, at no time in my post did I say Lankheit was the better catcher. FACTS that I brought up were that Cottingham did indeed catch as a sophomore for CCH jv so one would assume he was going to catch varsity his next year and that he quit during postseason. Sorry if you took it personal. That's your problem.

  4. Has to feel good for Cottingham to have 4 RBI's against the team he was considered not good enough to play for.

Don't usually like to post on anything but actual game stuff but can't help it on this one. This is so wrong it's a joke. I hope BW's catcher finishes the year strong and has a great college career. I really do. That being said, he put himself in the posistion where a frosh catcher passed him up. And he quit the team in the MIDDLE OF THE POSTSEASON. He was considered to be the starter the next two years believe me. If he wouldn't have been, don't you think they would have had Lankheit catching at jv that year. He was playing 2nd base and pitching.

As far as the game goes yesterday, congrats to BW. They deserved it and they will be very tough out come tourney time. CCH needs to regroup quickly.

  5. I got there to watch last few innings of varsity game and all of jv game. It has to be tough to pitch on that field when it's wet. Saw at least 5 or 6 walks in 2 1/2 innings of varisty game and I'll bet there were 20+ in jv game. One pitcher threw 7 or 8 straight one hop fastballs to catcher. It really rained hard for about 2 innings of that game, I was suprised they kept going. I would not want to have a regional game affected by weather if I'm a coach. Even when it stops raining, that doesn't make the ball any easier to grip. Not to mention the kids sliding 5' past the bases. Great place to watch and when it's dry it is ok but when it's wet, it's completely different from what these teams are used to.

  6. I was at a U. of Florida game a few years back and a friend knew some people and we got to sit right next to a few pro scouts. Neat experience. One scout had this Florida pitcher at 91 - 94 all game and the other scout right next to him had him at 87 - 90. Kid threw 7 innings and velocity didn't drop much but I was just amazed at how 2 radar guns could be off that much with the other. BTW, I thought the 2nd one was correct. That experience is why I never trust anyone's take on radar guns.

  7. Overrated.

Love it. Team plays one game in last week of March with multiple pitchers and they're overrated. Apparently the coaches who voted them top 4 don't know anything. Don't know much about how HC does things but my guess is that because they play at Meiken they haven't had much field time which translates into pitchers not throwing much yet in "game" situations.

  8. Unfortunate news for CCH's Tom Arnzen. Looks like a shoulder injury suffered in practice is going to keep him out this year. First, it's a darn shame for a kid to have to sit out. he already sat out his sophomore year of basketball and now this. For CCH it's a blow. This kid IMO had a chance to be the best player on the team this year in a strong junior class.

I had heard he'd be out a few weeks at most. If it is indeed the entire season, that is a HUGE loss.

  9. His name was Zac Adams and he graduated in 2008. He was the ace his junior year and he pitched the first game of the season and touched 90. Three games later he was hurt at first base when a runner ran into his right shoulder and torn his laybrum( my bad if it's not spelled correctly). Thats the reason he wasn't really heard of until his senior year when he lead NKY in home runs (11).

I remember him well. Didn't realize that was who you were refering to because I never saw him pitch. Nice player.
