From what I've heard they have played a very tough schedule *including playing a State Chapion to one run and a state contender to 2* I'm not sure of the truth of this statement this is only what I've heard. They haven't played well but I believe they will turn it around they have to many athletes not to..

How did Josh Caldwell fair?
-
There is no real winner in scrimmages. Coaches usually throw staff and try to get as many players a possible in the game. This includes using JV players that will never see the light of day. Perry County Central went 25-9 last year. Evarts, Cawood, and Cumberland combined for just 21 wins all together.
I seriously doubt HC is on that level just yet.
I mean, who are your top pitchers and what school did they pitch at last year?
Paul David Creech-Cumberland
Zach Blanton-Cumberland
Chase Niday-Cawood
Justin Bashier-Cumberland
Tyler Boggs-He is in 8th grade
Those are our top pitchers coming into this year..Pd Creech pitched last night mostly for the bears untill subs took ther game over...GO BLACK BEAR BASEBALL!!!!!!
-
Corbin is cerainly the favorite in this game and is the favorite to win the entire tourny... however, if the Black Bears can slow the game down and if Caldwell has a great game they could cause some problems for the Redhounds. The key to this game is Caldwell having his way with the dogs...

Does anyone know or have the 13th Region boys tourny schedule? Have they already had their drawing? I know it's at Bell but don't know the pairings..
Thanks..

St. John is deserving yes but James David Strange has had a perfect season IMO
-
So, Who exactly "nominates" these players?
-
I have thought all season that Caldwell is the best scoring threat we have! When other people know that I guess it's hard to execute though.
Every team they have played this year has loaded up on him.
-
Because the way HC plays defense and tends to slow the game down and work the ball inside/out I believe they have the works to show a run late in the season.
-
I think with some work he could be a SEC player. He was without a doubt a All-American player in my mind.
-
Did Corbin stop Siedel or did he still get his usual 20+?

Anyone have stats?

How did Caldwell for Harlan County fair?
-
I agree with your rankings at this point into the season...id probly move Harlan County in front of Barb...since the Louisville-Iroqiouse game they have improved and seem to be clicking finally..
-
Anyone have stats on the game?
-
Caldwell had 25 points and 16 rebounds.:dancingpa

Jenkins,,,,,, maybe..... maybe not..... :jump::jump:

Most are freshman and soph but if they had stayed they would be soph and jr, C Taylor, S Dozier, J Brewer, R Ison, T Napier, D Hensley, F Robinette (not playing at HC but transfered) thats seven and there are at least 3-4 that are still playing for NH. While most of these kids transfered 2-3 years ago at the time they were in the middle school program at HHS, and losses like this IMO are not overcome in a small school setting.
Do any transfers ever go the "other" way... ie from Harlan County to Harlan City? If so, then it would be a wash, if not, it might be an advantage to some degree.. And why do they transfer?

Ugly early, Ugly at the Half, and Ugly late...

List the most dependable water girls/boys in the Mountains....
My Pick:
1. Harlan County Black Bear's - great group that works hard, very dependable! :dancingpa
-
I dissagree..being in the top ten even as a 5-10 is a pride boost for a player..it shows he or she has worked hard and those extra hours in the gym has showed off and got them noticed
-
I knew I forgot someone, yes Zachary from Bell is definitely in the top ten after his district performance.
-
:p1. Crawford
2. Miller
3. Johnson
4. Siedel
5. St. John
6. Strange
7. Green
8. Caldwell-Would be higher but I have to see him in action returning from injury-
9. Kid from Clay, I can;t remember his name sorry.
10. Smith
I'm sure I've left people off and I'm sorry. This is just a quick run through.
