Camels by a lot, look for the inside game of CC to be to much.
-
I don't know who "everyone" is. Not many people thought this year's team was going to be anything special.
Preseason #3 isn't very special?
-
With 6'3 Collins not in the starting lineup, to give way for 6' Tucker, it makes Newport even smaller, so you may be right. With Tucker in the lineup, it should look like this:
6'7 Pittman v 6'5 Darnell
6'5 R. Johnson v 6'4 McDaniel
6'4 J.Johnson v 6'2 Luther (HUGE mismatch IMO)
6'2 Housely v 6' Greene
6' Riley v 6' Tucker
I would say that Mcdaniel vs R. Johnson is a bigger mismatch. Luther is very athletic, and Pittman should have a field day with Darnell.

Honestly, if Dayton plays better defense than they did against Bracken (82 points) and makes their free throws (missed about 20 and i was only there for the second half) and stop Romes then i could see this game being exciting
D-Town - 67
Bwood - 59
P.S. can someone tell me where they are playing
Game is at Beechwood.
-
Your so lucky! Take me with you! Haha
-
Dayton is coming off of a 92 point game. Let's hope the Tigers can hold them to less than that.
-
Smith from Beechwood is a very nice player with unlimited potential.
-
If Easton keeps his cool during the game he could have a very solid game but not enough to come within twenty points of the Tigers.
-
Do you have brackets?
-
If CCH loses to Conner, they are in for a long season.
-
Maybe they will play zone with their comparable size but disadvantage athletically. Its why they draw em up.
I agree, but very few teams in the 9th can match up with Holmes.
-
Boone's inside game will be pretty tough to stop for the Breds. Guards are pretty evenly matched. I would think McFarland will be out to stop Giesler from having another big game.
Boone should win
I disagree, I would say that Boone has the better guards with Gabbard and Popp over Connor and Pangallo.
-
Collins or Mcdaniel can't guard either of the Johnson brothers.

Yes he played. He was more of a role player.
Sounds like his role has changed.

From nky.com:
Holy Cross knocks off NewCath in OT
The Holy Cross boys' basketball team outscored Newport Central Catholic 6-2 in overtime to pick up a 52-48 win on the road Saturday.
Senior point guard Shina Giwa led the Indians with 21 points and Keith Egan added 10.
NewCath, ranked No. 6 in the Enquirer Northern Kentucky coaches' poll, held a 46-43 lead with 12 seconds remaining when Conrad Eastin made a 3-pointer for Holy Cross to send the game into overtime.
Matt Giesler scored a game-high 32 points and Grant Pangallo added 10 for the Thoroughbreds.

Matt Giesler? Did he play at all last season?

Did Earls play?

Grant County must have not played very well. I watched Ludlow play Carroll Co. in a scrimmage and Carroll Co. beat Ludlow by 40 pts. I felt like Grant should have won this game by 20+.
Ludlow made it to the second round of the playoffs I believe, so they probably didn't have their full team.

I agree. I think they are still a year away from being a legit state title contender. They are no doubt a top 5 team, but IMO the reason for that is talent and not their TEAM play.
I've told several people I didn't think Holmes was ready to compete for a state title this year because of a lack of depth but that next year they would be unreal with the Johnson Brothers, Pittman, and Arnold and would have a very deep bench with the good JV team that they have this year..
Yes, but I think that Riley is so key. They need to find another lights out shooter like him for their run next season.

Just read through the "updates" thread. Sounds like GRC struggled in the 3rd when Stenzel went out but bounced back nicely in the 4th and had some others step up.
Strained ACL. Glad it's not a tear. One is too many - two would just be wrong.
Third quarter was rough but the team held it together and pulled away in the forth. I think the fall scared Robbie .He'll be ok.[/quote]
Great news to hear.:thumb:
Stats from the game:
CLARK — Rogers 21, Hatton 19, Stenzel 12, Zollo 14, Williams 6, Brewer 3, Martin 2, Bailey 2.
RYLE — Russell 15, McLeish 13, Coleman 10, Stauffer 10, Ahern 7, Lamping 6, Nichols 5.
I think that he will be huge this year for Ryle. He is great defender and has some abilities on offense as well.

Bracken Co- Hamilton 24, Bradford 1, A. Cummins 6, Workman 26, J Cummins 3, To.Jefferson 13, Ty Jefferson 3, Kraft 4. Totals 22 17 82
Dayton- Simons 7 1 15, Turner 6 7 21, Kraft 2 0 4, Lovell 3 2 9, Rogg 1 0 2, Massey 9 8 26, Bowden 1 2 4, Eastin 4 2 11. Totals 33 22 92
Bracken County 11 23 16 32 - 82
Dayton 11 25 26 30 - 92
3pointers- B.Co 9 (Workman 5, Hamilton 4) Dayton- (Turner 2, Lovell, Eastin)
I had to manually do that so there you go. NKY.com didnt post it but it was in the Enquireer.
To win by 10 with Eastin only having 11 is a good sign for the Devils.
-
It will be interesting to see how many titles NKY can bring home this year.
-
I believe I stated that Holmes didn't have the intensity on defense that they had last season. That being said I don't think this means anything more than Bryan Station is a good team and Holmes needs to regroup and fix a few things.
-
I hope Beechwood over looks Hazard like Lca did.
Noel Rash is way too good of a coach to allow his team to do this in a state championship. Beechwood by 2 to 3 touchdowns. Look for Teipel to have another huge game.
