Dominique announced this morning his decision to play college basketball at the University of Kentucky. This was announced in front of all his classmates, family and numerous media outlets.

Hawkins Named KY Gatorade Player Of The Year

Madison Central point guard Dominique Hawkins was named the Gatorade Kentucky Boys' Basketball Player of the Year on Thursday. He is also a finalist for Mr. Basketball.The 6-foot-1, 185-pound senior averaged 20.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.8 steals per game. He shot 50 percent from the field, 35 percent from 3-point range and 75 percent from the free throw line. He was named Most Valuable Player of the Boys' Sweet 16.Hawkins had 21 points and 10 rebounds in helping Madison Central beat Ballard 65-64 in the championship game.Hawkins hasn't decided where he's going to play college ball. Many believe he's waiting to see if UK will offer him a scholarship.He has offers from Western Kentucky, South Carolina and Morehead State among others.*
