Luke Rakestraw pitched, he also hit 3 for 4. He is my grandson.

Glad to see Brandon Rash from Montgomery County get some much deserved recognition.
Robert Hatton also should have deserved some consideration,He lead Clark county in
points a # 14th final ranking and 25 wins.
-
The Montgomery crowd was pathetic - as bad as the Indians in the first three quarters. No band. Not many fans. The ones who were there were loud, but where was the rest of the Indian faithful?[/quote
I was very surprised to see so few fans from MC. GRC brought a load and glad to see everyone out supporting the cards! Hope to see that up at NKY as well!
Glad to see Rogers back for G.R.C. He played well.Zollo had a terriffic game
banging the boards and hustling getting several putbacks,Robert Hatton played a good game hitting his freethrows and several three's.Daniel also
played well.Hope Stenzel recovers from his illness,Clark is really going to need him down the stretch.Congratulations to coach Humphrey,he has got his team
ready to play. Good luck G.R.C.:dancingpa:dancingpa

Both are high ankel sprains..I saw them at school the other day. One had a knott that looked like a big orange on the side of his ankle. It was nasty looking. It will not be healed by the time post season is over....but he will still play. He has so much heart, you have to love the way he gives it all for his team.
In an early post someone questioned Robert Hatton's toughness,I disagree. He
made 3 point shots, his free throws, drove hard to the basket, dove to the floor, rebounded, and just hustled through out the game.He also led both teams
with 22 points. He is a little on the thin side, but his toughness no one should
question.

Agree, great group of young men, also congratulations to coach Humphrey on another
20 wins season.
-
I saw Jenkins play this summer on the same team as Robert Hatton of G.R.C. Robert
had 7 3's and scored over 30 points in this game,Jenkins appeared to be some what
upset because he wasn't the most outstanding player in this game.
-
Please don't judge us by that scrimmage....Zollo coming off a broken leg and Williams and Rogers just getting back from football.
Only stats I have is Zollo 18 points 10 rebounds 6 blocks and 2 dunks.
Hatton 18 points on 2 bad ankles what courage,go CARDS
-
I heard that Hatton reinjured his ankle during the latter part of the game against Trinity.
Sure hope that he is better today,we need his play in the tounament.Get well Robert
and go CARDS.
-
Clark still playing individual ball. Good teams will exploit that and win by doing so and have. He who gets the ball first shoots. They played some Good Team ball for a short span in the 4th quarter that got them the lead to stay. Free Throws still need work! They can be a Great Team. Just need to work together and learn to trust each other.
I agree

I thought the game changer was when Hatton was trapped in the backcourt and threw over the press to Robbie for the dunk! I thought that took MC's fans out of the game and really got CC charged!
Hatton looked like Tim tebow on that length of court pass to Stenzel.:fire:

Good win for the Cards. Sounds like Hatton had a big day.Hatton had a great game on a sore ankle, they shared the ball more than
they have in past games, six players had double figures.Hatton also had
10 boards.
-
Another good showing by Corey with 21. Good game for Hatton with 19 and another solid performance from Sollo with 12. It will be difficult without Robbie in the lineup for maybe up to 2 weeks, but hopefully its not as bad as they think, and he will be back and ready to play soon!
Ryle had cut Clarks lead to one point when Hatton hit 2- 3 pointers
to open the lead back up,I believe he had a total of 4 shots outside
the 3 point line and some critical free throws down the stretch. Cory
played a great game and Zollo played well in the fourth quarter.Hope
Stenzel has a speedy recovery.
-
Stenzel got a couple early fouls Hatton played very well.
What were the statistics for Hatton and Stenzel? total points, turnovers, assists, rebounds, and shooting percentages.

Checking in: Clark County
Clark County would have had one of the top teams in the 10th Region this season even before the Cardinals had a newcomer transfer into the program.
Now, with Kentucky commitment Vinny Zollo (photo) coming from Ohio the Cardinals are not only tops in the region but one of the main contenders for the state title.
Zollo is a sophomore and ranks as one of the top players statewide in the Class of 2011, along with his new teammate Robbie Stenzel.
Coach Scott Humphrey has plenty of other talented players that should make the Cardinals a must-see team for any Kentucky high school basketball fan.
Robert Hatton senior guard for Clark should not be overlooked,he is the best
3 point shooter on this years team.
-
I like Robet Hatton who plays for G.R.C. he is stronger this year, can
shoot the 3 and take his man off the dribble. He should have a good
year. Go G.R.C.

Robert would also be an all state quarter back if he played football. This kid and his family are top notch all the way! Good to see him improve every year.
Robert is also an avid fisherman, you cannot outfish him.
-
Congrats to the Cards and Coach Humphrey. He had an excellant game plan and the team followed his instructions.
When Hatton shot the 3 pointer that he banked in from 25 feet, you knew it was the Cards night.

Congratulations to the South Laurel cardinals, I have watched these young men
play baseball for four years what a fine group of young men and they have
won many games, but this was a tough way to go out. Luke Rakestraw is
one of the best shortstops in the state.
